Troy Baker is one of the most prominent voice actors in video games, having voiced Joel Miller in The Last of Us and Booker DeWitt in BioShock Infinite. Baker was part of Hideo Kojima’s final game for Konami, Metal Gear Solid V, playing Revolver Ocelot. The lead voice actor in the game was replaced by a film actor. When Baker was asked about it, he shared that he wasn’t worried about film actors taking over video game roles.

David Hayter, who played Solid Snake in the previous installments, was removed from Metal Gear Solid V without notice. He was replaced by Kiefer Sutherland as Kojima believed he could also bring the subtle facial movements required for the character.

Naughty Dog, the team that made the really liked The Last of Us games, is telling fans that they are working on more than one new game that is different from The Last of Us. Personally, I think this is great because Naughty Dog is known for its storytelling and universes. Staying in one franchise keeps us from seeing others flourish.
According to an interview with the LA Times, Neil Druckmann, the boss of the studio, just said that Naughty Dog is working on many games. This is especially true for those where you play alone, and the story and characters are really important. This matches what the studio did before, like The Last of Us and Uncharted.

Pedro Pascal’s portrayal of Joel in HBO’s “The Last of Us” has been a revelation, even to Troy Baker, who originally voiced Joel in the game. Baker, who reprised his role in the series with a guest appearance as James, praised Pascal’s interpretation. He noted that Pascal’s performance continually surprises and teaches him new facets of Joel’s character.

Mel has been given the title of the most hated character in The Last of Us Part II, largely due to the choices she makes along her journey. On accord with her independent nature and stubbornness, she endangered herself and her unborn child by traveling to the aquarium, through areas not controlled by the Wlf, where eventually she met her demise at the hands of Ellie.

Mel wanted to leave with Owen and others to Santa Barbara, California, leaving Abby behind. She feared Abby’s intention of regaining Owen’s favor and interfering with her relationship. God of War is one of the strongest PlayStation first-party franchises and the creator has some advice on how Sony could have ended the recent State of Play on a higher note. David Jaffe is renowned for his sarcasm but one of his ideas genuinely made sense.
The PS5 has entered the latter stage of the console life cycle and it is no hidden secret that the gaming company is working on a new device that is rumored to be more powerful than the base model. It would make sense for Sony to lower the price of the original version.

At the time of writing this, Sony has just announced the PlayStation State of Play for May 2024. With the summer showcase season, just around the corner, it will be interesting to see how Sony lays out their upcoming slate for the next few years.
Add to that the fact that this is Sony’s time to really shine and show everyone why PlayStation is king. With Xbox failing to deliver the goods as of late, and a lack of first party PS5 titles confirmed, now seems like the perfect time for the PlayStation State of Play to drop.
So below, each member of the FandomWire Gaming team has made a prediction for what they expect to see during the event respectively. I will list these below followed by a bit of commentary on how likely I believe each prediction is:

Troy Baker is a well-established and popular voice actor known for his brilliant portrayal of Joel in The Last of Us series. Baker’s great voice acting roles have gained him a massive fan following and also a great reputation in gaming communities.
Despite all of this success, when Baker was asked to step into the role of Nathan Drake’s brother, Sam in Naughty Dog’s Uncharted 4: A Theif’s End, he knew that would be a significant and intimidating challenge even with his great resume.

The role of Sam Drake was a very big one in the Uncharted series as he is the brother of the main protagonist, Nathan Drake. Baker’s task to implement a natural dynamic between Nathan and his brother Sam was why the role was a challenge.

The Last of Us has left a lasting impression on the gaming industry ever since the game’s initial release in 2013. It’s narrative-driven gameplay and unique storytelling made the game stand out. However, there were times when there were disagreements regarding monumental changes in the story, specifically by Troy Baker
Troy Baker’s suggestion was not taken into account.
Troy Baker, who played the role of Joel in The Last of Us, suggested the most monumental change to the game’s ending during production. Neil Druckmann, the writer and creative director for the series, was unhappy with the suggestion and outrightly rejected it.
Neil Druckmann’s visionary storytelling
Troy Baker, suggested killing his character towards the end of The Last of Us part 1. Baker believed Joel to have crossed moral lines and he deserved to die. Druckmann said –
Neil said Joel has crossed these moral lines, and therefore he deserved to die.

We first crossed paths with Isaac Dixon in The Last of Us Part II; the leader of the Washington Liberation Front, he's an antagonist in the game and someone it appears we'll soon learn more about.
A newly revealed set photo (first shared on GameFragger.com) from The Last of Us season 2 shows Jeffrey Wright suited up as a younger version of the villain. The game only revealed a few minor details about his past, including the fact he moved to Seattle after serving in the United States Marine Corps. In the present, he's Abby's boss and she's his most trusted soldier.
Interestingly, the uniform suggests Isaac is working for Fedra at this point in the timeline, suggesting the TV series will explore how and why he turned on them after becoming one of the many people who rebelled against military control.

If you can add Jeffrey Wright to your film/TV series/video game/secondary school play, you add Jeffrey Wright. The Last Of Us game creator Neil Druckmann already knew this, having the Academy Award-nominated actor voice a character called Isaac in The Last Of Us Part II and now he and fellow TV series adaptation show-runner Craig Mazin are keeping that tradition intact, with Wright reprising the role, this time in live action for the show's second season.
Game players will know who he is, but for those whose first experience of the story is the show, we'll look to avoid spoilers by simply quoting the series' official line on the character: "the quietly powerful leader of a large militia group who sought liberty but instead has become mired in an endless war against a surprisingly resourceful enemy."

The Last of Us is most definitely one of the standout PlayStation-exclusive franchises. Naughty Dog’s work with the title created a title that is simply like no other with one of the key offerings of the game being its narrative.
The game was both co-written and co-created by Neil Druckmann. While the narrative of the finalized title gave gamers immense appreciation, the original idea for the game could have ruffled a few feathers, mainly because of how it approached inclusivity.
The Original Idea for The Last of Us Was Tad Problematic The Last of Us’ Joel may have been seen as even less heroic as he currently is, in the grand scheme of things.
Most gamers appreciate The Last of Us, which is still considered a classic. Despite the series now having more remasters than actual games, its popularity is still sustained.

The co-director of 2013’s The Last of Us, Neil Druckmann, first came up with the concept when he was attending grad school. For many years, there was a misconception in the gaming industry that female protagonists slow down game sales but that was proved to be wrong with the success of The Last of Us.

You can't do better than Jeffrey Wright, so why even try? The actor is coming off his first-ever Oscar nod for "American Fiction," which is frankly shocking given the pedigree of his previous work. We're talking about the man who starred in Mike Nichols' "Angels in America" miniseries (reprising the role he played in the original Pulitzer Prize-winning play's Broadway debut), spent 15 years playing Felix Leiter, the coolest cat in the Daniel Craig James Bond movies, and was the Mvp of Matt Reeves' "The Batman" as Jim Gordon. He was also everyone's favorite human-turned-host, Bernard Lowe, across all four seasons of "Westworld" and has recently become a member of Wes Anderson's acting troupe.

Fans Express Concern Over The Last of Us Actor Amid Season 2 Time-Skip - Main Image
HBO and Max have announced that production of The Last of Us Season 2 has already started. Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey will return to their roles as Joel and Ellie, respectively.
While most fans are pumped as the countdown to the show’s 2025 release has started, some can’t help but express their concerns over X and Reddit about one glaring detail:
The second part of the well-loved video game is set five years after the events of the first one, which is expected to be the same timeline for Season 2. However, some viewers have noted that Ramsey did not age a bit, both in the set photos and the official first look, thus wanting Ellie recast.
In Part II, Ellie is 19 years old, ageing noticeably as a brutal and defiant character in a post-apocalyptic world.

As the Fireflies' famous catchphrase goes: "When you're lost in the darkness, look for the light." And as our not-so-famous catchphrase goes: "When you're waiting patiently for The Last Of Us Season 2, look for the first images of Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey's return as Joel and Ellie." Good news – that light has arrived, people. During an Upfront presentation yesterday, Warner Bros. Discovery gave fans their first look at Season 2 of Neil Druckmann and Craig Mazin's critically acclaimed game adaptation — and we're already feeling all the feels. You can see the Joel pic above – and here's the Ellie shot:
Now, these pictures don't tell us an awful lot about what's coming in Season 2, but that doesn't make them any less fascinating to look at. Joel's grown-out locks. Ellie's winter hat. His new jacket. Her new shotgun (who — or what — is it aimed at?). Both of them look a bit older now,...

Thanks to GameFragger.com, we have the first images of Pedro Pascal as Joel and Bella Ramsey as Ellie from the upcoming second season of HBO's The Last of Us.
Shared by Casey Bloys, Chairman and CEO, HBO and Max Content, during the Warner Bros. Discovery Upfront presentation, both characters look very much in line with their respective video game counterparts, though there are already more complaints on social media about Ramsey looking too young for the role.
She is now 20, a year older than Ellie was in The Last of Us Part II. The video game version looked quite a bit older than 19 when players were placed in her shoes, and we're sure such a youthful-looking Ellie will only make what's to come in season 2 more harrowing.

The first look at Season 2 of “The Last of Us” was unveiled on Wednesday featuring stars Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey. HBO and Max chief Casey Bloys debuted the images during the Warner Bros. Discovery Upfront presentation in New York City.
The show chronicles the story of Joel (Pascal) and Ellie (Ramsey) as they navigate a world overrun with zombies infected with a parasitic fungus — not to mention the ruthless vigilantes, mercenaries and cannibals just as desperate to survive. Just as the first season of “The Last of Us” was adapted from the acclaimed 2013 video game of the same title, Season 2 of the series is expected to follow the events of its 2020 sequel, “The Last of Us Part II,” which deals with the fallout from Joel’s actions in the season 1 finale.

First look photos from the second season were released during Warner Bros. Discovery’s Upfront presentation on Wednesday, featuring Pedro Pascal as Joel and Bella Ramsey as Ellie.
The photos don’t give away much in terms of the plot, though that’s to be expected as production just recently began on Season 2. So far, details remain scarce.
The photo of Pascal features Joel standing outside at night, speaking with someone whose back is to the camera. In the next photo, it appears to be daytime, though Ellie is creeping inside of a building with her weapon at the ready in case anything goes wrong.

It has been a while since The Last of Us: Part 2 came out, and players are surprised how a glitch in the game has still not been patched yet, causing them to die in the middle of a cut scene. As many on social media platforms pointed out, during a particular moment in the game, the character model somehow bugs out, causing Ellie to phase through the floor and fall into the void.

It has also been pointed out how the glitch seems to happen only in the permadeath mode, making players start their journey all over again as the custom mode allows the players only a single chance to finish the game if they have chosen the hardest difficulty, resetting their progress all over again if they die.

Cameras have been rolling on The Last of Us season 2 for a while now, and we finally have some semi-decent set photos. These offer fans a first look at Bella Ramsey's Ellie with her girlfriend, Dina (played by Madame Web and Superman star Isabela Merced).

The worst characters in gaming are typically the ones these protagonists are up against. However, amid the shortage of single-player campaigns, thanks to the live service epidemic, protagonists are becoming rare in video games.
But that’s not always the case. Sometimes, protagonists can be just as annoying. The sad part is players cannot get rid of them if they like the video game they are playing. Such a dilemma.
Why Do Antagonists Have All the Hate When These ‘Pros’ Are There? Here Are the Most Hated Protagonists of Gaming
Some characters will stick with the players like glue, and while the players may want to bury them in the ground, it’s not really possible. Let’s say they are just hanging by the mercy of the video game, as players won’t be allowed to proceed further without them. We picked five of such characters whom gamers might find very lovable.

The Last of Us: Part 2 is seen by many as one of the most prominent games of the last generation. The reason for that is simple enough: most gamers loved this game’s writing. They loved the story, and they empathized with most of its characters. There were a bunch of naysayers too, but every game has its critics.
Naughty Dog and Neil Druckmann put a lot of work into this sequel. Not just its story, but its dialogue, its music, and its motion capture—every element of this game screamed perfection. Helldivers 2 is a massive triumph for Sony Interactive Entertainment and Arrowhead Game Studios. The ambitious multiplayer title was a great attempt to dive into the live-service multiplayer space but it wasn’t PlayStation’s biggest exclusive yet.
New reports have shown that The Last of Us Part 2 is the 4th most downloaded game on the Ps Store. Despite all the backlashes and the video game’s age, it is still visible to the public eye due to its sheer quality.
The Last of Us Part 2 Is One-Upping Helldivers 2
Helldivers 2 aspires to be like The Last of Us Part 2 in terms of long-term popularity.
Naughty Dog is known for developing unique and powerful linear storylines with the team’s innovative nature and its recent project has divided the gaming community down to the core. Depending on where a player stands, the game is seen as one of the greatest stories ever told or the ultimate betrayal.
