The story of Beowulf and Grendel is one of the most famous stories in English literature. The epic Beowulf is one of the most important works of English literature in general and it has been an inspiration for many authors over the centuries. We have also had numerous adaptations of the work, including the animated film from 2007, but all of them focused on the heroic tale of Beowulf, the hero of the story. But, the story also has another important character – Grendel – the monster and Beowulf’s rival in the story.
Grendel is finally going to get the chance to tell you his side of the story, as the movie Grendel will be released soon, with Palisades Park Pictures is launching international sales ahead of Cannes.

A new live-action take on the tale of Beowulf is in development, and the project has assembled a very impressive cast.
We've seen a number of animated and live-action adaptations of the ancient Danish legend over the years, but this one will be a little different.

The cast also includes Bryan Cranston as King Hrothgar, Sam Elliott as The Dragon, Thomasin McKenzie as Queen Wealhtheow and Aidan Turner as Unferth. T Bone Burnett will also appear, and provide original songs for the film.

It’s that time of year for various organizations to recognize some of the best films of 2011. Some of these awards are lesser known, but the Film Independent Spirit Awards, is not one of them. Having seen Win Win the other day, I really hope that Tom McCarthy wins the award for Best Screenplay, but it will be hard to take the win, especially with the momentum that The Descendants and The Artist are having. Margin Call Trailer. J.C. Chandor‘s Margin Call (2011) movie trailer stars Zachary Quinto, Kevin Spacey, Paul Bettany, Jeremy Irons, and Penn Badgley. Margin Call‘s plot synopsis: “Set in the high-stakes world of the financial industry, Margin Call is a thriller entangling the key players at an investment firm during one perilous 24-hour period in the early stages of the 2008 financial crisis. When entry-level analyst Peter Sullivan (Zachary Quinto) unlocks information that could prove to be the downfall of the firm, a roller-coaster ride ensues as decisions both financial and moral catapult the lives of all involved to the brink of disaster.”
This film looks far better than Wall Street 2: Money Never Sleeps. It would be nice to see a business movie where the business people do not talk down to the audience.

#29. Margin Call - J.C. Chandor Sundance will always have the following: road movies, Lgbt-theme films and technically they could make it two for two with financial collapse related pics. Last year they preemed John Wells' The Company Men, while this year could see J.C. Chandor's debut film (see above) make the grade. The difference with Margin Call is the slightly higher number of players involved (Kevin Spacey, Paul Bettany, Jeremy Irons, Zachary Quinto, Penn Badgley, Simon Baker, Mary McDonnell, Demi Moore, Stanley Tucci, Aasif Mandvi, Grace Gummer) and the backdrop in this one: takes place in the heart of the collapse. This revolves around employees of an investment bank during a tumultuous 24-hour period during the 2008 financial collapse. Baker will portray a ruthless, high-powered securities broker who oversees the characters played by Kevin Spacey, Stanley Tucci and Zachary Quinto and drives his colleagues to win by any means necessary.
