Soccer Aid for Unicef 2020 has, thanks to the generosity of ITV viewers, raised a record £11,552,577 – the most the match has ever raised in the history of the show, which was broadcast exclusively live on ITV and Stv.
For the first time in the match’s history, donations were matched by both the UK government and Gavi, The Vaccine Alliance, meaning every £1 donated becomes £3 – up to £3 million – until Tuesday 6th October 2020.
This year’s teams of celebrities and former professional footballers played for ‘Generation Covid’, and the money raised will help Unicef stop the spread of coronavirus and limit the impact on children’s lives around the world.
The match, which was played behind-closed-doors at Manchester United Fc’s Old Trafford, ended 1-1 and so went to penalties. The game marked a return to the North West following last year’s game at Chelsea Fc’s Stamford Bridge.

Noel Gallagher is a man who always has something to say - so he should feel right at home on Match of the Day 2.
The High Flying Birds frontman and life-long Manchester City fan will join the show's regulars this weekend as a guest pundit - so consider this your 'Sunday Morning Evening Call'.
Gallagher will host a feature on his team's fixture against Newcastle United - if it doesn't work out for the Blues at the Etihad, he might be left asking 'Where Did It All Go Wrong', naturally.
The former Oasis star will also offer considered observations on Sunday's fixtures - Southampton v Liverpool, Everton v Leicester and Tottenham Hotspur v West Ham - giving him a national platform to 'Go Let It Out' (ahem).
Gallagher has appeared on BBC Sport before, interviewing former City striker Mario Balotelli for Football Focus in 2012.

Funnyman Will Ferrell and chef Gordon Ramsay were left injured as England beat the Rest of the World 3-1 in celebrity sporting event Soccer Aid on Sunday.
Hell's Kitchen star Ramsay was given oxygen on the pitch and was stretchered from the field of play after he was clattered from behind by former England international Teddy Sheringham in the charity game.
And Anchorman star Ferrell hobbled out of the match when he suffered a leg injury late in the second half.
Kasabian rocker Serge Pizzorno opened the scoring for the Rest of the World team with a sensational chip over former England goalkeeper David Seaman, but the England side fought back in the second half with goals from Sheringham, captain Jonathan Wilkes and soccer ace Kevin Phillips to win the game 3-1.
Stars including Mike Myers, Gerard Butler, Edward Norton, Woody Harrelson and Michael Sheen went up against an England side which included Take That's Mark Owen and Jls singers Aston Merrygold and Marvin Humes in the biennial match, held in Manchester, England.
The event, organised by Owen's fellow Take That star Robbie Williams, raised more than $6.4 million (£4 million) for Unicef.
Pizzorno was awarded the honour of Man of the Match for his stunning goal.

Kasabian have said that they want to play the next Glastonbury festival. The band revealed that headlining the three-day music event is a milestone they are determined to achieve in their career, though they will have to wait until 2013 as next year sees the festival take a break. Frontman Tom Meighan told the Daily Star: "It would have been brilliant to play Glastonbury but all we need is a phone call from Michael Eavis and we'll be there for 2013." Sergio Pizzorno added: "One thing I really want to do before all this ends is to headline Glastonbury as we've always had an incredible time playing there. Hopefully it'll happen. "The one thing you need to pull off a good Glastonbury headline show is f**king good tunes and we've got enough of them to do that." (more)...

Kasabian have discussed their latest album Velociraptor! track-by-track exclusively on Digital Spy. The band, who release their fourth record this week, talk about each of the 11 songs at length in the 16-minute interview. It just sort of wrote itself." The Leicester quartet previously described the LP as "a monster of an album," (more)...

Kasabian rocker Tom Meighan was petrified when he made his acting debut, insisting he was more nervous stepping in front of a camera than performing on stage for thousands. The British musician signed up to play the part of a bodyguard in upcoming sitcom "Walk Like a Panther", but he couldn't shake off his nerves.
He tells Q magazine, "I loved it but I was s**ting myself first of all. When I was driving on set I was thinking, 'F**k, f**k, f**k.' It was more nerve-racking than playing (U.K. music festival) Glastonbury."
But Meighan admits he would love to act again - if he can land the role David Bowie played in 1986 classic film "Labyrinth", "Kasabian and the music comes first. Having said that, if someone said they were remaking Labyrinth I'd be quite up for playing the Goblin King."...

I’ve been wondering where writer William Monahan‘s directorial debut London Boulevard was. Filmed last year, there was little noise in 2010 for this gangster comedy. Now, set for a release next month in UK, we have our first trailer. This seems to be more of The Departed territory for the writer, now director. He has also written Kingdom of Heaven, Edge of Darkness and Body of Lies, but the playful tone rings more familiar to another Colin Farrell pic, In Bruges.
Based on Ken Bruen‘s novel, the film also Keira Knightley, (the obligatory) Ray Winstone, Eddie Marsan, Anna Friel, David Thewlis and Stephen Graham. I’m also excited about the score from the Kasabian guitarist Sergio Pizzorno. Check out the trailer below.
Synopsis: The story of a man newly released from prison (Farrell) who falls in love with a reclusive young movie star (Knightley) and finds himself in...

Sergio Pizzorno has been serenading his baby with new Kasabian songs. The rocker has revealed his two-month-old son Ennio, his child with his partner Amy, is already showing an interest in music and loves it when he plays his guitar to him.
"I've been teaching my baby how to box and I've been playing the guitar for him," Sergio told Bang Showbiz when speaking at the Q Awards in London on Monday, October 25. "Music, thankfully, soothes him so I've just been playing guitar to him and it gets him off. Which is nice."
"I've been playing him some of the new album he thinks it's gonna be amazing. He likes it better than the last one. I'm glad he likes good tunes already. I've also been playing him the old classics like The Everly Brothers."

Sergio Pizzorno has been describing Kasabian's first appearance at Scottish festival T In The Park in 2005. The guitarist said that this year will be "nicer" because although the gig conflicts with the World Cup final, Pizzorno's Italy are not involved. He told NME: "The first time we played it we were first on and it was so early that the gates hadn't even opened. Then as we started playing people started coming down the hill charging towards us. Even then you felt something was going on. So it's (more)...

Noel Fielding has opened his latest art exhibition in London's oldest cake shop Maison Bertaux. The Mighty Boosh star claimed that the exhibition, called Bryan Ferry vs The Jelly Fox, is partly inspired by the Roxy Music singer. The display also includes an installation the comedian created with music by Kasabian's Sergio Pizzorno. The cast of The It Crowd, Vic Reeves and Pixie Geldof were among the stars who attended the champagne and cake reception at the show's opening night on July 3. Fielding told NME: (more)...
