Neve Campell and Skeet Ulrich are best known for co-starring in the horror classic Scream. They also starred in The Craft (1996). The witchy cult classic will soon be available to stream on Max.
The Craft will arrive on Max on January 1st. Released the same year as the original Scream, Campbell takes on another iconic role of Bonnie Harper in the teen supernatural film. And while not as large of a role, Ulrich would once again work with Campbell to play the jock Chris Hooker. Directed by Andrew Fleming and made with a $15 million budget, the film was a box office success on its release, opening at number at the North American box office and grossing $55.6 million total. While The Craft has been to an average critical reception with a 6.4/10 on IMDb, the film is beloved by fans for its dark themes and subversion of typical family-friendly Halloween movie tropes.

“Hacks,” “Fellow Travelers,” “Black Cake” and Ava DuVernay’s “Origin” were among the big winners on Thursday as Humanitas revealed its 2024 Humanitas Prize recipients. The ceremony, held at Avalon Hollywood, revealed honors in nine juried categories, including TV, film and documentary fields.
“We actually got something friends,” “Origin” filmmaker Ava DuVernay said in accepting the award for drama feature — which had been previously snubbed through last year’s Oscars season. “We went through that whole awards gauntlet, and then this popped up in the summer, and I thought, ‘wow, they’re kind of off kilter for the award season!’ Because they don’t care about that… they’re doing something different. This award show that is about doing something with this medium that matters. Yes, entertainment matters, but we have such a powerful voice, such a powerful platform. So I commend everyone that’s trying to say something.”

The 1996 American film The Craft has an excellent cast which has gone on to feature in a multitude of movies and TV shows since its release. The Craft follows four outcast teen girls with supernatural abilities who come together to form a coven and take revenge on the people who have wronged them. The film did surprisingly well at the box office, grossing over $50 million against its $15 million budget, and it has since become a cult classic. Though it did not win any major awards, the film received mostly positive reviews from critics and was a hit with audiences.
Part of the reason for The Craft's continued interest is its outstanding cast. The film's four stars, Robin Tunney, Fairuza Balk, Neve Campbell, and Rachel True, carry the load, but the rest of the film's actors put in solid performances as well. The Craft is also one of the scariest...

Fans of the 1996 supernatural teen-thriller The Craft will remember Rachel True as Rochelle Zimmerman, an aspiring witch who forms a coven with Sarah Bailey, Nancy Downs, and Bonnie Harper. In an interview with Yahoo!, True revealed that her path to starring in the movie was filled with the kind of discriminatory behavior that would be considered unacceptable today.
The cast of the movie was already stacked with famous actresses Fairuza Balk, Neve Campbell, and Robin Tunney. The part of Rochelle was originally written for a white actress, and Rachel True had to rely on round-about ways just to give an audition for the part. "It's a big movie in terms of my career, but it's also a big movie for Black people out there," True explained. "It's one of the first teen movies that wasn't a Black teen movie or a white teen movie.

Along with being an actress, lifestyle blogger, and all-around ageless bohemian goddess, Rachel True, who you absolutely remember from The Craft, also happens to be a tarot card reader. This week, an La Weekly writer published her account of going to Echo Park's House of Intuition with a friend who was going through a breakup; the two were offered a tarot reading and were surprised (and delighted) to find none other than teen witch Rochelle Zimmerman holding the deck. Now 50 years old (and looking exactly the same as she did in the movie, which came out two decades ago - casual), Rachel has apparently been interested in magic and healing energy since way before playing Rochelle. "The [tarot] cards . . . help me articulate the situation; and then I use my intuition to kind of springboard off of that," she said. "I find that a lot of people have a misconception that...
