Neither of Zack Snyder's Rebel Moon movies received an overly warm response from critics or, for that matter, sci-fi fans. Now, though, both Part One: A Child of Fire and Part Two: The Scargiver are getting a second chance on Netflix with R-Rated director's cuts.

According to the Justice League helmer, these will allow fans to "experience Rebel Moon the way I've envisioned it," a peculiar statement when the first two versions being released on streaming (rather than in theaters) should have meant Snyder had the creative freedom to do as he saw fit.

After the release of Zack Snyder‘s space saga Rebel Moon, the director teased his true vision would come in R-rated director’s cut epics. Netflix has just released the official Red Band trailer to part one of Snyder’s Director’s Cuts, which features a bevy of blood, steamy sex scenes and even robot boobs. The two parts are also renamed for these cuts with part one now titled Chalice of Blood and part two titled Curse of Forgiveness.

We've known for quite a while now that both parts of Zack Snyder's Netflix sci-fi saga Rebel Moon, A Child of Fire and The Scargiver, will be re-released as R-rated extended editions, and the filmmaker has now unveiled a first official look along with the brand-new titles and a premiere date.

Both Rebel Moon - Chapter One: Chalice Of Blood and Chapter Two: Curse of Forgiveness will be available to stream on Netflix from August 2.

The movies have also been given an official R-rating for "brutal bloody violence and gore, sexual content, graphic nudity, and language".

We knew it was only a matter of time, and Screen Junkies has now released an "Honest Trailer" for the second and final(?) movie in Zack Snyder's Star Wars-inspired sci-fi saga, Rebel Moon: Part Two - The Scargiver, aka, "Harvest Moon 2: Pain and Grain."

The guys don't have to work very hard to find things to make fun of here, but this still proves to be one of the funnier Honest Trailers we've seen in quite a while.

Netflix on Tuesday announced that Part 2 of Zack Snyder’s sci-fi project Rebel Moon will hit the streamer on April 19, 2024. (As previously reported, Part 1 drops on Dec. 22, 2023.) To sweeten the pot, we also have our first teaser trailer.

Netflix describes Rebel Moon as “an epic science-fantasy event decades in the making. When a peaceful colony on the edge of a galaxy finds itself threatened by the armies of a tyrannical ruling force, Kora, a mysterious stranger living among the villagers, becomes their best hope for survival.”

Most teaser trailer’s are just that, teasers. But Zack Snyder’s first teaser trailer for his two-part epic scifi tale, Rebel Moon, is nearly four minutes long and reveals much about the world Snyder’s created in his latest massive endeavor.

The teaser trailer’s release was accompanied by the announcement of the titles of parts one and two, as well as a confirmed premiere date for part two.

Part one is officially Child of Fire and part two is The Scargiver. The first part arrives on December 22, 2023 and part two follows on April 19, 2024.

Today at Gamescom, as he debuted the first teaser for part one in his two-part Netflix space epic Rebel Moon, filmmaker Zack Snyder unveiled the names of both chapters, as well as a release date for the second.

The first installment, coming to the platform on December 22nd — as previously announced — is titled Rebel Moon: A Child of Fire. The second, Rebel Moon: The Scargiver, premieres on Netflix on April 19, 2024.

The first project to fall under a first-look partnership between Netflix, Zack and Deborah Snyder, and Wesley Coller’s The Stone Quarry Productions, Rebel Moon is set in a peaceful colony on the edge of the galaxy that finds itself threatened by the armies of the tyrannical Regent Balisarius (Fra Fee). It’s then Kora (Sofia Boutella), a mysterious stranger living among the villagers, who becomes their best hope for survival.

Writer/director Zack Snyder wowed the crowd at Netflix’s Tudum Global Fan Event with the release of a new behind-the-scenes featurette for Rebel Moon. The two-part sci-fi epic was inspired by Akira Kurosawa 1954 film Seven Samurai and will premiere on Netflix on December 22, 2023.

Netflix’s first batch of official photos from Zack Snyder’s science fiction epic Rebel Moon shows off the film’s key players. Inspired by Akira Kurosawa 1954 film Seven Samurai, Rebel Moon takes place in a distant part of the galaxy and follows Kora, a mysterious woman (played by Sofia Boutella) who’s tasked with saving a peaceful colony from being wiped out by an invading force.

The cast of the two-part epic includes Ed Skrein as Admiral Atticus Noble, a nefarious Imperium enforcer; Charlie Hunnam as Kai, a mercenary pilot whose Tawau-Class freighter will prove invaluable to Kora’s quest; Michiel Huisman as Gunnar, a Veldt farmer who knows little of the galaxy outside of his small, quiet corner of the galaxy; and Djimon Hounsou as General Titus, a hardened gladiator who once served the Imperium.

Filmmaker Zack Snyder has affirmed online speculation surrounding his forthcoming Netflix space opera Rebel Moon, confirming that it will be split into two films, with multiple cuts to be released of each installment.

Snyder’s comments came as part of an interview with Vanity Fair, also featuring his producing partner and wife, Deborah Snyder. In it, Deborah explains that the decision to expand Rebel Moon into a two-parter emerged from a dialogue with higher-ups at Netflix, including Film chairman Scott Stuber. “Originally, the script was one movie, but it was in ‘Zack form,'” she says. “It was 172 pages.”

In coming to understand that the film would come in at around a three-hour runtime, she explains, “Stuber was like, ‘On the service, under-two-hour movies really do better for some reason,’ even though you’ll binge-watch a series of eight episodes.

Exclusive: Two-time Academy Award winner Anthony Hopkins (Armageddon Time) has boarded Rebel Moon—the sci-fi adventure film that Zack Snyder (Army of the Dead) is directing for Netflix.

Rebel Moon is set in a peaceful colony on the edge of the galaxy that finds itself threatened by the armies of the tyrannical Regent Balisarius, then dispatching a young woman (Sofia Boutella) with a mysterious past to seek out warriors from neighboring planets to help them make a stand. The HBO fantasy epic faced stiff competition from the likes of Riverdale and The Haunting of Hill House, but even with a final season that divided fans down the middle, it still had one final victory.

However, Emilia Clarke faced even stiffer competition in the Best Performance in a Show race, ultimately losing out to The Handmaid's Tale's Elisabeth Moss.

There was even some love for Schitt's Creek co-creator and star, Dan Levy, who secured the win for Best Comedic Performance.

The pre-recorded 2019 MTV Movie & TV Awards were pre-taped and hosted by Shazam! star Zachary Levi.

After taping Saturday night in Santa Monica, The MTV Movie & TV Awards broadcast aired Monday night, with Zachary Levi taking the reins as host for the network’s annual tribute to all things pop culture. With film and TV stars in contention for fan-chosen awards, everything from popcorn blockbusters and reality television to Oscar-nominated documentaries has a place at this show. Nomination leaders included some usual suspects – “Avengers: Endgame” and “Game of Thrones” – as well as a wildcard hit, “Rbg.”

In addition to the classic movie and television trophies, this year sees some new categories, including Reality Royalty, Most Meme-able Moment, and Best Real-Life Hero. Levi himself is also up for two Golden Popcorn trophies, as his “Shazam!” performance was nominated for Best Hero and Best Comedic Performance. Jada Pinkett Smith is receiving the annual Trailblazer Award, presented to her by Tiffany Haddish and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson received the Generation Award.

Meanwhile, The Handmaid’s Tale star Elisabeth Moss picked up the Best Performance In a Show accolade during Monday’s pre-taped ceremony, which was hosted by Zachary Levi. The MTV Movie & TV Awards returned to television Monday, with host Zachary Levi and a number of pop culture favorites.

Dominating this year’s nominations with four apiece were front runners “Avengers: Endgame,” which took home the evening’s best movie award, and “Game of Thrones,” which won best show. The Oscar-nominated documentary “Rbg” also scored four nods but was overtaken by the evening’s best documentary winner “Surviving R. Kelly.”

This year’s show also featured three new categories: reality royalty (“Love and Hip Hop: Atlanta”), most meme-able moment (“The Bachelor”) and best real-life hero (Ruth Bader Ginsburg) in addition to the show’s new tradition — started in 2017 — which refrains from separating nominees by gender.

Additionally, Dwayne Johnson was honored with the Generation Award, and Jada Pinkett Smith took home the Trailblazer Award.

“Game of Thrones” and “Avengers: Endgame” took home the top prizes at the 2019 MTV Movie & TV Awards on Monday.

The final season of HBO’s fantasy epic came into the night tied for the most nominations with the Marvel superhero team-up and the documentary “Rbg,” but ultimately lost out in a few categories to a pair of “Avengers” stars, “Captain Marvel” actress Brie Larson and “Endgame” star Robert Downey Jr.

Other winners included Sandra Bullock for her “frightened” performance in Netflix’s “Bird Box,” the kiss shared between “To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before” co-stars Lana Condor and Noah Centineo and “A Star Is Born” star Lady Gaga.

As previously announced, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson was honored with the “Generation” Award at the Zachary Levi-hosted show, while Jada Pinkett Smith took home the “Trailblazer” Award.
