And that's a wrap.
The Code, which just concluded its freshman season on CBS, has been canceled.
The midseason hiatus should have been a clue, but darn it, we enjoyed that!
The Code was a unique take on the military and the law, offering fans of both genres something to dig into.
It followed some of the greatest military's brightest legal minds while they practiced law and also highlighted their personal lives.
The marines were trained to fight on all sides of the law -- as investigators, prosecutors and defense attorneys.
Dana Delaney took to Twitter this afternoon to share her farewell.
Thank you to all you wonderful people who watched @TheCodeCBS. Last night was our finale and sadly, no more. I’ll never make General. But I loved this cast of stellar actors & know we’ll meet again. Semper Fidelis.

We’ve got questions, and you’ve (maybe) got answers! With another week of TV gone by, we’re lobbing queries left and right about shows including Deadwood, The Handmaid’s Tale, Black Mirror and Designated Survivor!
1 | Granted, our recollection of the 1880s is fuzzy (too much absinthe, ugh), but did the Deadwood movie bother you with how some of the lamps — especially the handheld lanterns — were so uniformly bright and didn’t flicker, at all? What, did Hearst also bring Led bulbs to the region?
2 | Was Burden of Truth‘s hacked car a great advertisement for less fancy vehicles?...

Jag casts a huge shadow.
The fabled military drama has been gone almost 15 years and yet it lingers in viewers' memories.
Aj Chegwidden has already recurred on NCIS: Los Angeles and Harm and Mac set to return on that same series.
Stepping out of the shadow of Jag is what The Code was up against. Yet it made big strides on The Code Season 1 Episode 1.
Granted, there are certain similarities between The Code and Jag, beyond the courtroom battles.
Related: The Code Sneak Peak
Let's start the male lead character. Jag was supposed to be a cross between Top Gun and A Few Good Men, and Harman Rabb was the Tom Cruise character, a pilot turned lawyer, who was also missing his father.
Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, right?
Luke Mitchell (Blindspot) ably stepped into the role of pretty-boy lawyer.
His Captain John "Abe" Abraham is a Marine legacy.

A series spotlighting military attorneys prosecuting and defending servicemen accused of crimes.
Nope, it's not Jag, originally envisioned as a blend of Top Gun and A Few Good Men.
That courtroom drama aired for a decade, for one season on NBC before moving to CBS for the rest of its run, making stars of David James Elliott and Catherine Bell.
It even spawned a franchise which has been a CBS mainstay since then, NCIS. Maybe you've heard of it.
No, this new series being described is The Code. It debuts behind, you guessed it, NCIS at 9 tonight on CBS before moving to 9 p.m. Mondays starting April 15, taking over the Magnum P.I. slot.
The Code features a team of Marine lawyers who prosecute and defend Marines accused of crimes while in the service.

CBS’s latest procedural stays in what’s become the network’s very particular comfort zone: The world of military court. In the wake of the naval-justice franchise “NCIS” (itself a spinoff of long-ago CBS standby “Jag”), the network perhaps most closely adherent to formula has put together “The Code,” a deeply familiar-feeling product.
On “The Code,” lawyers within the Marine Corps take on cases — giddily trading off, from case to case and episode to episode — the roles of prosecutor and defender. This structure tends to give their work a fairly airless quality: Perhaps more like real lawyers than TV is used to depicting, these attorneys are motivated more by the desire to close out cases quickly and efficiently than by passionate advocacy for their clients. One episode sees a sentencing request agreed upon by “prosecutor” and “defender” over beers; they clink bottles after agreeing they’ll ask the judge for eight years.

Rolling Stone‘s March Issue, “Women Shaping the Future,” featured Nancy Pelosi along with three resilient members of the congressional freshman class — Jahana Hayes, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Ilhan Omar — on the cover. Despite chatter that incoming liberals would clash with the old guard in Congress, they all voted for Pelosi to be Speaker of the House and put politics aside when they showed up for the photo shoot. “There was no sense that these were women who didn’t get along,” says Catriona Ni Aolain, Rolling Stone‘s director of creative content,...

First introduced as a national proclamation by Congress in 1981, Women’s History Month has been celebrated every year since then, using the 31 days of March to promote and amplify the voices of women across the country — and around the world.
To celebrate Women’s History Month, we asked nine actresses to tell us about the books, films and television shows that have inspired them, as women, over the years. Many of their selections were written by female writers, or star strong female leads. The shared goal of these actresses is to not only commemorate the achievements of women this month, but to celebrate their voices — and the stories they continue to tell — all year long.

“Body of Proof” star Dana Delany has joined the cast of CBS’s military legal drama “The Code,” stepping into the role played by Mira Sorvino in the original pilot.
She will play Colonel Eisa Turnbull, the Commanding Officer of the Marine Corps’ Judge Advocate Division. Eisa demands excellence of herself and her staff, inspiring fierce loyalty from the attorneys who serve under her command. One of the highest‐ranking female officers in the Corps, Eisa is also the mother of two sons who are serving overseas.
Shortly after the legal drama was picked up to series earlier this year, it was announced that the network would recast the characters played by Mira Sorvino and Dave Annable. A person with knowledge of the project told TheWrap at the time that Annable and Sorvino were simply not a good fit for the show as it emerged.

Luke Mitchell has been cast in the CBS drama “The Code,” stepping in for Dave Annable, who played the role in the original pilot.
It was reported shortly after the legal drama was ordered to series in May that the roles played by Annable and Mira Sorvino — the male lead and a series regular, respectively — were to be recast before the show’s premiere in midseason.
Mitchell will play Capt. John “Abe” Abraham, a driven prosecutor operating out of Judge Advocate General Headquarters in Quantico for whom becoming a Marine is a longstanding family tradition and a responsibility he treats with devotion and passion.

Despite getting a series order, CBS’ “The Code” will have to re-cast two of its main roles as the drama will move forward without Mira Sorvino and Dave Annable.
Annable was to play the male lead, while Sorvino was set as a series regular. CBS has not begun re-casting for the two roles, TheWrap is told.
