The Hulk is one of the strongest superheroes in the Marvel Universe. With sheer brute strength and rising anger, the green machine can take on any threat head-first. That is one of the reasons why many of the Avengers or the Illuminati call upon the Hulk whenever there is a particularly powerful threat, especially when it comes to Thanos.
The Hulk and the Mad Titan have fought a few times in the comics, although their hand-to-hand combats have been few and far between. Fans got to see a taste of their fight in Avengers: Infinity War as well. However, the recent comics see a much different outcome than in the film. In the ongoing Thanos (2023) comic book series, Hulk and Thanos face off against each other.

There was a time, not so very long ago, when a new release from Marvel Studios would be a guaranteed hit, regardless of whether the film starred one of the world’s most popular superheroes or introduced audiences to characters few knew. Pundits wondered how long such an interconnected franchise could sustain itself, as the Marvel Cinematic Universe emerged as the highest-grossing film series in history and continued to break records.
Marvel broke another record this weekend, though not a record anyone in Hollywood could have predicted a few years ago. The Marvels, filmmaker Nia DaCosta’s follow-up to $1 billion hit Captain Marvel (2019), debuted with the lowest opening weekend box office in the MCU’s 15-year history. The numbers are sobering for a film that cost over $250 million to produce, and have led fans, commentators and Hollywood insiders to wonder: Are Marvel’s days in the limelight over?

This post contains spoilers for "Secret Invasion."
The Marvel Cinematic Universe's "It's All Connected" approach has always been a double-edged sword. When every MCU film and series builds on those that came before them, you can't just sweep a misstep like "Thor: The Dark World" under the rug. In the past, however, the franchise has managed to turn its lemons into lemonade, much like it did when it made "The Dark World" a key aspect of Thor's arc in "Avengers: Endgame."
Now, the House of Ideas is facing what might be its greatest challenge yet thanks to "Secret Invasion." What could've been a triumphant series adaptation of the acclaimed 2008 comic book story by writer Brian Michael Bendis and illustrator Leinil Francis Yu has instead become the McU's biggest faux pas. Adding insult to the injury that is the show's bad reviews, "Secret Invasion" had some of the lowest viewership...

Wolverine #32 Writer: Benamin Percy | Artist: Juan Jose Ryp | Colourist: Frank D’Armata | Letters: Cory Petit
Are we going to have to start calling this series Beast Goes Full Evil? At this point I think Benjamin Percy is the only writer I would trust to have a comic called Wolverine completely dominated by Beast and his continuing journey to the dark side. It has been going on for three issues now and it works. Beast is the center of attention in this book right now and Percy is killing it! Not to completely scare fans off, Wolverine does make a fleeting appearance in this issue in true Wolverine fashion. Barging in on the Quiet Council and telling them exactly what is what and how he is going to put things right. Though out reading this issue I did keep asking myself how and if this ties into ‘Fall of X’ or...

After many months of waiting, Marvel Studios has finally dropped a new trailer for "Secret Invasion." Starring the legendary Samuel L. Jackson as super-spy Nick Fury, the upcoming Disney+ original miniseries delves into an underground conspiracy unlike any the Marvel Cinematic Universe has ever seen before.
When he learns that a radical group of Skrulls has been secretly infiltrating Earth's society, the former Director of S.H.I.E.L.D. is determined to stop them by any means necessary. But with their shape-shifting abilities, these operatives could be hiding in plain sight, disguising themselves as crossing guards, doctors, government officials, or even Earth's Mightiest Heroes.
Since our first look at the show from "Mr. Robot" creator Kyle Bradstreet dropped at last year's D23 Expo, there hasn't been a ton of talk "Secret Invasion." A few theories have surfaced about what exactly could be going on, and stars like Emilia Clarke...

15 years after recruiting Tony Stark for the Avengers Initiative in the post-credits scene for "Iron Man," Samuel L. Jackson's Nick Fury is finally getting the spotlight to himself in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It's long overdue for the beloved character, who's been constantly stuck playing second fiddle to Earth's Mightiest Heroes and other major do-gooders in the franchise, most notably Steve Rogers and Carol Danvers. Admittedly, the latter's 2019 solo film, "Captain Marvel," featured Fury as a co-lead opposite Brie Larson as the titular cosmic superhero in something of a 1990s-styled buddy action-comedy throwback. Still, for as much as that movie plays like a backdoor Nick Fury origin story, its whole vibe doesn't really befit someone as morally grey and ethically flexible as Slj's super-spy/agent.

This post contains potential spoilers for Secret Invasion.
For the past several months, details about the Disney+ series Secret Invasion have been kept, well, secret. All we knew was that the show’s story would put Samuel L. Jackson‘s Nick Fury front and center for the first time, and tell an espionage tale involving the Skrulls, the shapeshifting aliens MCU fans first met in Captain Marvel.
But a recent Vanity Fair article has the intel, indicating a story that goes right to the heart of the Marvel Universe, shaking things up in a way that Thanos and Kang never could.
Secret Invasion Comics vs the Disney+ Series
Secret Invasion may take its name and general premise from the 2008 Marvel Comics event by Brian Michael Bendis and Leinil Francis Yu, but the Vanity Fair article reports some major variations. In the comic book story, Secret Invasion involved a Skrull invasion...

As the debate over superhero fatigue rages on, the Marvel Cinematic Universe shows no signs of slowing down. Arguments abound as to whether or not the quality of these films and TV shows has degraded as the quantity has risen. I love comics, and honestly, I still get excited about every new addition to this world. That said, Marvel could benefit from focusing more on the project at hand and less on setting up its seemingly unending stream of content. For better or worse, the MCU continues at a breakneck pace.
While Phase 4 lacked the cohesion and emotional resonance of Phase 3, it definitely had its moments. The comics themselves have had some pretty rough spots over the years too, so I'm still looking forward to upcoming projects. One of the most exciting of these is "Secret Invasion." Nick Fury has a lot on his plate in the upcoming Marvel TV series “Secret Invasion,” and you can see just how much in the first trailer, which debuted Saturday during Marvel’s presentation at D23 Expo 2022.
Watch it above now.
It starts with Nick Fury (Samuel L Jackson) returning from space, looking pretty grizzled. Maria Hill (Cobie Smulders) meets him in a bar and dresses him down for not showing up to help with other unnamed problems that have presumably happened since he left Earth.
“Three years, you’ve been avoiding Earth. I have called for your help plenty of other times. And you’ve been pretty content to let those calls go straight to voicemail.”
“Yeah well. This is different,” Fury says. And it is!

Who can you trust? This is probably a question that Nick Fury has asked himself every day of his life. At least, every day since he became the Marvel Cinematic Universe's super spy. As he's grown older, the list of answers to that question has gotten shorter and shorter for one reason or another. But now, the former Director of S.H.I.E.L.D. might as well throw out the whole damn list thanks to "Secret Invasion."

The wait is (almost) over for Marvel’s “Secret Invasion.”
Disney unveiled a trailer for the upcoming series at D23, starring Samuel L. Jackson and Ben Mendelsohn.
Creator Kyle Bradstreet serves as head writer, with Thomas Bezucha and Ali Selim directing the six-episode series. After 29 movies, seven Disney+ series, and nine tangentially connected television series, we know the characters of the MCU pretty well. We know that Nick Fury is the one-eyed man with all the secrets. We know that one-time Captain America Steve Rogers retired after traveling through time to return the Infinity Stones used to defeat Thanos. And we know that good boy Peter Parker is rebuilding his life as Spider-Man after the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home.
But what if we were wrong? What if the characters we thought we knew and understood were all a lie, secretly using their positions in the public trust to launch a world-dominating attack? That’s the central hook of Secret Invasion, a long-in-development Disney+ series that may have major repercussions for the MCU.
The First Invasion
As is often the case, the series takes its name from a previously published Marvel comic book.

“Secret Invasion” is upon us. And thanks to Marvel’s Hall H Comic-Con panel, we know a little bit more about the upcoming event series coming to Disney+ and starring Marvel Studios favorites Samuel L. Jackson, Ben Mendelsohn, Don Cheadle, Martin Freeman and Cobie Smulders.
During the big Marvel Studios panel at Comic-Con, we got our first look at the series — by way of introduction from series star Cobie Smulders — which sees Jackson’s Nick Fury teaming up with Skrull warrior Talos (Mendelsohn) to try and stop a sneaky Skrull infiltration that could bring down the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe.
In the footage, fans saw Samuel L Jackson returning from space, looking pretty grizzled. Maria Hill meets him in a bar and dresses him down for not showing up to help with other unnamed problems that have presumably happened since he left Earth. Of course, Fury doesn’t necessarily need...

This article contains spoilers for the last two years or so of Marvel X-Men comics.
“Humans of the planet Earth. While you slept, the world changed.”
The opening line of Jonathan Hickman and Pepe Larraz’s House of X hit like a bolt of lightning, and everything it promised paid off. Hickman took over the floundering X-Men line of comics, isolated and diminished after years of corporate meddling, and reinvigorated them creatively and financially with an exciting five-year plan.
House of X and Powers of X was Hickman, Larraz, Rb Silva and Marte Gracia’s overture. It started with a barrage of resets and retcons: the opening page of House of X #1 heralded the change with a designed infographic with Professor X announcing the new order to the world, and the issue jumped right in with what appeared to be Cyclops hatching from an egg with a sinister-looking, walking, helmeted Professor X summoning him.

As streamers continue to carve out their niches for specialized content, Netflix has established a firm foothold in original anime production of both established and original IP. On Tuesday morning, the platform outlined a group of exciting upcoming titles, headlined by the hugely anticipated “The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf” animated spinoff, in a pre-recorded Studio Focus panel, streamed as part of the Annecy Film Festival.
In “The Witcher,” one of Netflix’s most popular original series to date, Henry Cavill plays Geralt of Rivera, the outcast monster hunter who is loathed by most he comes across and willing to do dangerous and unsavory work for pay, earning himself a guarded admiration from some he’s helped. But, before Geralt came Vesemir, a headstrong young witcher who relishes his job and the earthly benefits he reaps in doing what others can’t or won’t. Seemingly unshakable, Vesemir will face...

A long time ago, back at the beginning of the interminable, endless month of March that the pandemic has trapped us in, Marvel’s X-Men books were barrelling towards their first big post-Dawn of X crossover, X of Swords. And then the world stopped, and plans changed for the X-Men while everything was paused.
Now that we’re back, plans have changed, and books are coming fast and furious. So what’s going on with Marvel’s Merry Mutants? Which book did Storm get sick in? What book should you read for a good Laksa recipe? New Mutants, but we can answer all your other questions on what’s going on with the X-Men below.
While we won’t rehash the entire thing, House of X/Powers of X reset the entire X-Men line. Mutants can’t die anymore. The X-Men,...

Event tie-in comics aren’t supposed to be this good.
Empyre: X-Men has been highly anticipated since its announcement. This tie-in to Marvel’s big Empyre event was slotted as the first big foray into the rest of the Marvel Universe for the Krakoans post-House of X/Powers of X, but the Covid-related shutdown pushed the book back. Throughout the long wait, readers have been eager to see how the mutants would play with the rest of the world, but I think most were expecting a fun little throwaway series.
What we’re getting instead is something extremely consequential to the bigger story that the X-team is telling. The series shows a great deal of storytelling promise heading into X of Swords, the first big crossover of the Dawn of X era.
The Pretender Wanda Maximoff has atoned! Or at least, she tried to atone...

Netflix is still on a role as it continues to snap up as many ideas as it possibly can. This time it’s picking up an anime series titled Supercrooks that is based on Mark Millar and Leinil Yu’s ideas and will be one of the biggest heist comics to have come along in a while. The show will be produced by Bones apparently, the same studio that was behind the widely-popular series Fullmetal Alchemist and My Hero Academia. The series was originally published in 2012 and it was optioned to be a film in 2011, before it was published. So

It's Batman vs. Thomas Wayne in "The Fall and the Fallen," the new Batman arc from Tom King and Mikel Janin.
Batman is about to face his strangest nemesis yet: his father from an alternate timeline where Bruce died and Thomas Wayne wears the cape and cowl. Bruce's dad isn't the hero you'd expect him to be in Tom King and Mikel Janin's new story, "The Fall and the Fallen." Thomas has aligned himself with Bane, the secret mastermind of King's planned 100-issue run on Batman, and he wants to break the Bat once and for all by going after his mind.
Since issue #60, Batman has been trapped in a dream state, a psychological assault in the shape of his greatest fears, from Damian becoming a butcher like Professor Pyg to an endless nightmare that ends with Catwoman breaking Bruce's heart over and over again. That arc,...

As you may be aware, Marvel kicked off their “Fresh Start” initiative not long ago, thus affording readers a variety of highly accessible jumping on points when it comes to enjoying tales featuring their favorite superheroes – or ones they’re just getting into.
Cool as those relaunched books may be, one guy in particular has been stealing a heck of a lot of thunder as of late. In short, it’s thanks to The Return of Wolverine that many True Believers may be overlooking some other options when it comes to writing up their pull lists. Hey, when one of the most iconic characters in all of fiction comes back from the dead, wouldn’t you naturally assume for at least a few people to take notice?
That said, there’s no surprise being shown on our end when it comes to the House of Ideas celebrating this momentous occasion...

New creative teams. New series. New directions. New beginnings. It all kicks off this July with Captain America #1 – from the new creative team of Ta-Nehisi Coates and Leinil Yu.
“I think it’s a really exciting time to be writing Captain America right now,” said Coates. “The country is in an interesting place, and I look forward to inhabiting Steve Rogers’ character – this guy who has been a sort of awkward fit for the world, out of time as people say. I hope fans are excited to see something different, and I think there are some really compelling villains old school Captain America fans and Marvel fans will be familiar with.”
“Finding the right voice to tell the tales of Marvel’s beloved characters is never an easy task, but when it came time to hire the new hand to guide Captain America, we just knew it had to be Ta-Nehisi Coates!

In it, True Believers are not only treated to some spectacular artwork provided by Leinil Yu and Javier Garron that has now been given the motion comic treatment, but they’ll be brought up to speed when it comes to what’s played out over the course of the first three issues.
