Apocalypse stories are an odd breed. They rip characters out of familiar settings and societal structures and throw them into a challenge to navigate a new world where the old morals and logic don’t apply. Zombies, natural disaster, virus, or whatever the cause may be, the apocalypse forces its characters to rely on each other and come to terms with their place in a world that is gone and may never come back. In Tsutomu Mizushima‘s original anime “Train to the End of the World” the apocalypse is a truly bizarre one, but its core cast are determined to see their quest succeed.

The most iconic aspect of any great shonen anime is its protagonist. Main characters can make or break an anime - particularly in the shonen genre. Therefore, when the main character is written to be irritating, it can grate on fans’ nerves. Whenever a new shonen anime drops, it’s a toss-up about whether the protagonist will be insufferable. Yet, when they are annoying, they can go straight from perplexing to awful.
The worst, most annoying shonen anime main characters can be constantly whiny. They cry at the drop of a hat or explain their problems so much that audiences wish they would talk about something else. Maybe the characters have saccharine personalities or are so overpowered that there are no stakes in their shows. Whatever the case may be, these are some of the most annoying anime protagonists to grace audiences' screens in recent memory.

We know that Warner Bros. is working on increasing its anime library, which is probably a move motivated by Netflix’s and Disney’s “attacks” on the anime market. And while Warner Bros. is slowly working towards its goal, we know that a major title is coming soon. If you’re looking for a music-themed manga and anime series, Sound! Euphonium is one of the best series you’ll find. Written by Ayano Takeda and illustrated by Nikki Asada, the novel series was originally published from 2013 to 2019 and consists of 13 volumes. The series became enormously popular and has also been adapted into anime format, with two proper anime seasons, several Ova episodes, and several anime films. In the third season, Kumiko has become the leader of her high school band and now has to find her way around this new role as a new transfer student, Mayu Kuroe, who is also a euphonium player, arrives at the school. The official synopsis for the series reveals the following:
