Stars: Bill Skarsgård, Jessica Rothe, Michelle Dockery, Brett Gelman, Famke Janssen | Written by Arend Remmers, Tyler Burton Smith | Directed by Moritz Mohr
In an alternate universe, a young boy is raised by an off-the-grid shaman to become a lethal weapon trained to take down the family responsible for a totalitarian regime. When the boy (Bill Skarsgård) gets older, he takes it upon himself to go after the head of the family Hilda Van der Koy (Famke Janssen) — the woman responsible for killing his mother and sister when he was a child.
When you are a director who has no feature film credits to your name, the cinematic world is your oyster. Neither having to live up to a previously built reputation nor giving over to the commercial industry, anything is possible — and Moritz Mohr proves this is still true in Boy Kills World. In an absolutely bonkers merging of tone,...

Moritz Mohr’s Boy Kills World is what happens when you toss The Hunger Games, Mortal Kombat, Happy!, and Crank into a blender. While that sounds rad, the slurry of upbeat action and nonsense plot tangles is much more baffling in execution. Mohr’s vision borrows heavily from button-mashy videogames and dystopian graphic novels, blending Cyberpunk futurism with real-world dictatorship commentaries. There’s a message about fascism and rebellion somewhere in Mohr’s madcap martial arts violence, but it’s lost under the piles of enemy corpses. Boy Kills World never knows the movie it wants to be past a killing spree, as the story makes one poor choice after the next, like a genre satire that becomes what it tries to parody.

Bill Skarsgård has quickly become an actor whose very presence in a film suggests something twisted is about to go down -- that's what happens when you play a child-eating clown monster in two of the highest-grossing horror movies of all time. But where "Barbarian" cleverly used that foreknowledge to subvert audience expectations and "John Wick: Chapter 4" embraced it by casting the "It" star as the slimeball Marquis Vincent Bisset de Gramont, Moritz Mohr splits the difference in his feature directing debut, "Boy Kills World." Instead of casting Skarsgård as a blood-thirsty killer, the film casts him as a righteous killer in the vein of John Wick himself. And you know what? It might just work!
While it didn't exactly blow critics away last year during its premiere at the 2023 Toronto International Film Festival, "Boy Kills World" still managed to garner praise for its distinct blend of bloody slapstick action and irreverent comedy.

Jay Johnston, an actor on “Bob’s Burgers,” “Arrested Development” and more, was charged by the Department of Justice for participating in the Jan. 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol, according to court documents.
Johnston was arrested Wednesday in California, according to NBC News, which broke the news. He faces charges for felony obstruction of officers during civil disorder, in addition to other misdemeanor offenses.
In March 2021, the FBI tweeted a photo of Johnston in the crowd of rioters at the Capitol on Jan. 6 and requested information on his identity. In the court documents, the DOJ identified Johnston via multiple images of him captured on officer body-cam footage, bystander video and CCTV feeds. Johnston could be seen wearing a green camouflage neck gaiter and a dark leather jacket on Capitol grounds. With other rioters, he took a stolen Capitol Police riot shield to create a “shield wall” and push against a line officers.

What’s the biggest TV event happening on March 12? Some might say the Oscars ceremony, while others might point to the season finale of “The Last of Us”. But Fox is giving both a run for their money with their newest episode of “Family Guy,” which will see the raunchy animated program stage a three-way crossover with its Fox channel brethren “The Simpsons” and “Bob’s Burgers”
“Family Guy” previously crossed over with “The Simpsons” in 2014 during the show’s Season 13 premiere “The Simpsons Guy,” but this is the first time that the two series’ younger Fox sibling “Bob’s Burgers” is getting added to the mix. However, unlike “The Simpsons Guy” — an extra-long 44-minute extravaganza for the two rival shows — the upcoming episode (titled “Adoption”) doesn’t appear to focus on the interplay between the three shows, instead featuring characters from “The Simpsons” and “Bob’s Burgers” in a scene released by...

Fox's Sunday night animation lineup is about to collide, if only for a moment. In a clip from this week's episode of "Family Guy," which was just released by Entertainment Weekly, Peter Griffin (Seth MacFarlane) ends up at Bob's Burgers restaurant, where he pulls up a stool alongside Homer Simpson. It's less a major crossover moment than a quick gag, but "Bob's Burgers" star H. John Benjamin does make a voiceover guest appearance as the chef we know and love from the ever-underrated wharf restaurant.
The scene, which you can watch now below or on the Animation Domination YouTube channel, starts with Peter Griffin instantly trying to find a way to extricate himself from the situation when his wife, Lois (Alex Borstein) starts describing a dream she had the night before. "Eh-heh," he says while backing away, first out of the house and then down the street before eventually backing...

Adult animation fans are finally getting the crossover event of our dreams, as Linda Belcher herself confirmed that the upcoming "The Simpsons: Treehouse of Horror Xxxiii" will feature a crossover between everyone's favorite animated families.
"The Simpsons" set the bar for animated Halloween TV specials for years. Their "Treehouse of Horror" parodies represent some of the best and most memorable episodes of the juggernaut series' history. We've personally ranked some of their 15 best segments, but trying to choose from over 30 years of horror comedy greatness is a fool's errand. Not to be outdone, the creatives over at "Bob's Burgers" have also prioritized Halloween specials, which we've also ranked, because we love you and want you to have nice things.
The episode will mark the first crossover event with "The Simpsons" and "Bob's Burgers," although both shows have made appearances on other animated shows. "Bob's Burgers" had a fan-favorite crossover with "Archer,...

[Editor’s Note: The following review contains spoilers for “Only Murders in the Building” Episode 10, “Open and Shut.”]
Back in Episode 4, podcaster extraordinaire Cinda Canning (Tina Fey) not only provided the narration that bookended “The Sting,” but she also teased the ending of “Only Murders in the Building” by flashing “a few months” ahead. The host of “All Is Not Ok in Oklahoma” — the true crime series that first brought together Charles (Steve Martin), Mabel (Selena Gomez), and Oliver (Martin Short) — was suddenly talking about them, only it didn’t make much sense at the time. After quoting a line from “Brazzos” about second chances, not-Sarah-Koenig says, “[it] prophesied what would happen 15 years later, when a fake detective decided to become a real one; when he and his true crime fan buddies took a second chance — and became the subject of our next investigation.”
