Jazz bassist Alex Boneham was born and raised in Sydney, Australia. Alex won the James Morrison Generations in Jazz Scholarship in 2007 and was a finalist in the prestigious National Jazz Awards in 2008. Boneham graduated from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music with a Bachelor of Jazz Performance in 2009. Moreover, Alex not only was named the Bell Awards Young Jazz Musician of the Year in 2012, but also was a runner-up in the 2015 National Jazz Awards. Boneham was accepted into the Thelonious Monk Institute of Jazz Ensemble in 2014 and completed a Masters of Music from UCLA in 2016. Among the notable artists who Alex has performed and/or worked with are Herbie Hancock, James Morrison, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Wayne Shorter, Sara Gazarek, Gerald Clayton, Mike Nock, Larry Grenadier, Joe Chindamo, Tommy Emmanuel, Passenger, and Postmodern Jukebox.
