Writer-director Francis Galluppi will soon battle Kandarian demons as the director for one of two upcoming Evil Dead films. Next month, his feature directorial debut, The Last Stop in Yuma County, heads to streaming.

Galluppi’s ultra-fun violent crime thriller heads to Paramount+ with Showtime on April 1, 2025.

Jim Cummings, known for his work in “Thunder Road,” stars as the unnamed salesman. Beside Joe are Bernadette "Bern" Manuelito and Jim Chee, who help Joe investigate mysterious deaths and disappearances. The AMC series has a small, tight-knit cast but nonetheless features supporting actors and guest stars who add more complexity than what Joe, Bern and Jim already have.

The first two seasons of Dark Winds feature characters from all walks of life, even those who have only ever lived in the same town. From clear antagonists to nuanced heroes, it's difficult to say that Dark Winds has a black-and-white worldview. There may be clear "good guys" and "bad guys," but this is a gray world in which Joe is battling demons.

Dark Winds returns with its third season in March, and now fans can get a closer look at what's next in the thriller series. AMC has released the full trailer for season three.

Zahn McClarnon, Kiowa Gordon, Jessica Matten, Deanna Allison, Elva Guerra, A Martinez, Joseph Runningfox, Jeri Ryan, and Nicholas Logan star in the series. The series, inspired by the Tony Hillerman novels, follows two officers who investigate crimes on the Navajo Nation’s land.

Per Screen Rant, the first season of Dark Winds ranked sixth on Netflixs Top 10 most watched shows in the week of August 25. The 6-episode first season garnered 2.3 million views, which translates to roughly 10 million hours of viewership. The only series that outperformed it in that week were American Murder: Laci Peterson Season 1, Wyatt Earp and The Cowboy War Season 1, Emily in Paris Season 4. There was also the final season of The Umbrella Academy, based on the comic books by My Chemical Romance frontman Gerard Way.

The crime drama Dark Winds returned for its second season on AMC and the Dark Winds season 2 cast brought back the main players alongside some interesting additions for the new season. Based on the Leaphorn & Chee mystery novel series by best-selling author Tony Hillerman. Francis Galluppi’s tense and darkly funny The Last Stop in Yuma County begins with an unnamed traveling knife salesman (Jim Cummings) rolling up at the titular Arizona rest stop, looking to fill his tank. The place is nothing more than a couple of gas pumps, a tiny motel, and an old-school diner, complete with red leather booths and an infinite supply of strong black coffee. Despite the locale’s humble appearance, it’s about to become the site of a thrilling showdown that finds a fascinating mix of misfit characters caught in the crossfire.

The attendant, Vernon (Faizon Love), gives our protagonist the bad news first: They don’t have a drop of gas left to sell and the next stop isn’t for a hundred miles. There’s no way the salesman’s car will make it that far, so he’s stuck here until the next delivery arrives.

Dark Winds will return to AMC in 2025, and the guest cast for season three has now been revealed. Viewers will see Jenna Elfman, Bruce Greenwood, Raoul Max Trujillo, Tonantzin Carmelo, Alex Meraz, Terry Serpico, Derek Hinkey, Phil Burke, and Christopher Heyerdahl appear in the crime drama.

The Dark Winds series, inspired by the Tony Hillerman novels, stars Zahn McClarnon, Kiowa Gordon, and Jessica Matten. It follows a pair of officers as they investigate crimes on Navajo land. Deanna Allison, Elva Guerra, A Martinez, Joseph Runningfox, Jeri Ryan, and Nicholas Logan also star.

International and indie film distributor Well Go USA Entertainment has acquired North American rights to western heist film “The Last Stop in Yuma County.”

The debut feature from writer-director Francis Galluppi bowed at Austin’s Fantastic Fest before heading to Sitges. XYZ Films and UTA are co-representing North American sales. The acquisition was negotiated by Brennan Lane on behalf of Well Go USA and by John McGrath (UTA) and Pip Ngo (XYZ) on behalf of the filmmakers.

Lionsgate has revealed an official trailer for a crime action thriller film titled Red Right Hand, which is not connected with the video game series Red Dead Redemption. The film is now set to open soon in late February, without any festival premieres or any other appearances before. Orlando Bloom stars as Cash, who is trying to live an honest and quiet life, but when the small town crime kingpin "Big Cat" forces him back into her services, he proves capable of anything to protect the town and the only family he has left. Andie MacDowell co-stars as the big boss "Big Cat", which seems like some intriguing casting. AMC has finally announced the official renewal of its hit thriller series Dark Winds for Season 3. While the renewal is good news for the fans they will have to wait for the new episodes to come out as the targeted release dates for the third season is projected to be 2025.

Based on a series of novels by Tony Hillerman, the AMC series was created by Graham Roland it is set in the 1970s Southwest and it follows the story of two Navajo police officers Joe Leaphorn (Zahn McClarnon) and Jim Chee (Kiowa Gordon) as they go up against their dark past and evil forces to maintain peace in their community.

Season 2 of Dark Winds premiered on AMC and AMC+ on July 30 with the season finale airing on September 3. The renewal for Season 3 comes a few weeks after the conclusion of Season 2.

The cable network has renewed the crime drama for a third season, coming a couple of weeks after season two finished its run.

The series is planned to premiere in early 2025, a noticeable shift from the summer premiere of its first two seasons, but understandable given the writers and actors strike.

It comes after Dark Winds made its debut on Warner Bros. Discovery’s Max service as part of a two-month pop-up.

The first season of the series, which is produced by AMC Studios, drew 2.2M viewers on AMC for its June 2022 launch in Live+3 ratings.
