American Horror Stories Season 4: Clone Cast & Character Guide
Image
American Horror Stories is back with a new batch of episodes, each covering a different story and starring different characters, and the second episode, "Clone", stars some well-known actors along with some new faces. Ryan Murphys American Horror Story has found great success since its premiere in 2011, and though some of its seasons havent succeeded with critics and viewers, Murphy decided to expand it in 2021 with a spin-off/companion series. Appropriately titled American Horror Stories, whats different about it is that each episode tells a different story, unlike AHS, in which every season is different.

However, to keep some connection to the main show, some episodes of American Horror Stories have direct links to past seasons of American Horror Story. The success of American Horror Stories has led to its renewal, and among the episodes in its fourth season is "Clone". In it, a tech billionaire who suffers a debilitating...

Titanic: The Musical Review: A Devastating Musical About The Doomed Ocean Liner
Image
The original 1997 Broadway staging of "Titanic: The Musical" created a legend of itself, rising from previews' technical snafus and mixed reviews before achieving a Best Musical Tony and a run of 804 performances. Nowadays, the title might sound like a memetic gag for those uninitiated with its existence. Really? A musical about the 1912 sinking of the Rms Titanic? But the music may just answer that by shattering the stoniest of hearts.

The morbidly curious or the die-hard theatre-heads who can't access or afford a live professional production now may get their chance. Coincidentally also sharing a 25th anniversary with James Cameron's blockbuster this year, "Titanic: The Musical" finally has a Fathom Events theatrical release, namely a capture of the Thom Southerland-directed production filmed at the Southampton's Mayflower Theatre. This BroadwayHD-produced capture (directed for the screen by Austin Shaw) preserves what has aged like fine wine: Maury Yeston's sumptuous score,...

Titanic: Every Real Movie Character Who Survived The Sinking
Image
James Cameron's film Titanic accurately portrayed the real-life experiences of the passengers, including the bravery of some survivors. Notable figures like Margaret "Molly" Brown and J. Bruce Ismay were accurately depicted in the film, showcasing their roles and actions during the sinking. The film also shed light on lesser-known survivors, such as Officer Charles Lightoller and Chief Baker Charles Joughin, who played important roles in the rescue efforts.

James Cameron included several real-life survivors in his 1997 film Titanic. Many brave souls went down with the ship the night of April 14th, 1912, while some were able to board lifeboats or find other ways of surviving until the Carpathia arrived. While Cameron spent a lot of time perfecting his Romeo & Juliet love story between Jack Dawson and Rose Dewitt-Bukater, he also put effort into portraying the real-life passengers. He even did an incredible job casting these roles, especially with Captain Smith.

James Cameron Secretly Referenced Another Titanic Movie In His Film
Image
James Cameron’s Titanic has many memorable scenes, and one of those, starring a secondary character, references another Titanic movie. Even though he’s now mostly known for his work in the sci-fi genre, one of James Cameron’s most impressive projects is the 1997 movie Titanic, which at the time was the most expensive movie ever made and was the highest-grossing film of all time for many years. Titanic is based on the real-life tragedy of the Rms Titanic in 1912, but its main story and characters are fictional, though thanks to them, the audience meets many others that were based on real-life passengers of the ship.

Titanic tells the story of Rose DeWitt Bukater (Kate Winslet), a first-class young woman, and Jack Dawson (Leonardo DiCaprio), a third-class passenger, who meet onboard the ship. Over the course of four days, Jack and Rose fall in love and defend their romance from...

Leonardo DiCaprio, Kate Winslet, Billy Zane, Kathy Bates, and Frances Fisher in Titanic (1997)
‘Titanic’: James Cameron and Cast Look Back 20 Years Later (Exclusive)
Leonardo DiCaprio, Kate Winslet, Billy Zane, Kathy Bates, and Frances Fisher in Titanic (1997)
“You can be blasé about some things, Rose, but not about Titanic!”

Those words, spoken by the grandiose villain Cal Hockley to his dispassionate fiancée, Rose Dewitt Bukater, proved true both for the then-unprecedented ship and its fateful journey in 1912 and the record-breaking juggernaut film that told its story in 1997.

Twenty years after the film’s release, it’s hard not to see Titanic as an inevitable success: one of this century’s greatest love stories featuring two of today’s top stars, Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet, set against the backdrop of one of humanity’s greatest tragedies.

But before the film’s release, it was the subject of much scrutiny, with many mocking its premise, excessive budget and pushed release date. Before Rose and Jack ever made it to theaters, Titanic was nearly dead in the water, with two studios -- Paramount and Fox -- shouldering the financial burden of the $200 million budget, which at the time...

Titanic Hoax: Loraine Allison'€.s Claim Of Being Survivor Disproved
A woman’s claim that she had been a survivor of the 1912 sinking of the Titanic has been debunked.

Loraine Allison Titanic Hoax

DNA testing has confirmed that claims made by Hellen Loraine Kramer were a hoax, reported Newsmax. In life, Kramer alleged that she was Loraine Allison, a 2-year-old who was thought to have perished with her mother when the Titanic went under. According to legend, Loraine Allison had been safety aboard a lifeboat with her mother Bess, when Bess pulled Loraine out of the boat to find her husband, who she believed was boarding a lifeboat on the other side of the ship, reported the Montreal Daily Star. In the end, none of the Allison’s were thought to have survived.

In the 1940s, Kramer came forward, claiming to be Loraine Allison. Then living in Detroit, Kramer stated that not only did she survive the tragic sinking, but...

Victor Garber Confirms He's Gay
Victor Garber
Actor Victor Garber, who played Jack Bristow on Alias and the shipbuilder Thomas Andrews in Titanic, confirmed this week what he thought people already knew. Yes, he is gay. "I don't really talk about it, but everybody knows," Garber, 63, told Greg Hernandez of the blog Greg in Hollywood. The actor, who has been nominated for six Emmy Awards, including three for Alias, has hardly kept it a secret. In an interview last year with a magazine in his native Canada, Garber said: "My companion Rainer Andreesen and I have been together almost 13 years in Greenwich Village. We both love New York.

The Ship of Fools
I have seen the new 3D version of "Titanic" and, as with the original 1997 version, I found it a magnificent motion picture. The hour or more after the ship hits the iceberg remains spellbinding. The material leading up to that point is a combination of documentary footage from the ocean floor, romantic melodrama, and narration by a centenarian named Rose. The production brings to life the opulence of the great iron ship. Its passengers are a cross section of way of life that would be ended forever by the First World War. In a way, the iceberg represented the 20th century.

James Cameron's film is not perfect. It has some flaws, but I hate the way film critics employ that word "flaw," as if they are jewelers with loupes screwed into their eye sockets, performing a valuation. We can say there are elements that could have been handled differently.
