Leatherface’s first victim revealed? Newcomer Vanessa Grasse has just landed the female lead in Millenium Films’ Texas Chainsaw prequel Leatherface, TheWrap is reporting.
She’ll play Lizzy, a young nurse at a mental hospital who is kidnapped by a group of deranged teenage patients. Trapped with young sadists only starting to embrace their capacity for evil, she finds herself on a road trip from hell with her only hope being an obsessed lawman (Stephen Dorff) with an axe to grind. Little do any of them know that, during the chase, one of the teens’ minds will be warped and disfigured into the terrifying figure known as Leatherface.
Grasse, out of the University of Leeds’ theater program, won the role because of her naturalistic audition and sense of innocence, beating out over 90 young actresses in and outside the U.S. after a grueling casting search. She’ll be joined in...

After horrifying audiences as a haunted mother in The Conjuring, Lili Taylor is heading back to the world of horror with a supporting role – also as a tormented matriarch, albeit of a different ilk – in Millenium’s Leatherface, a prequel to the Texas Chainsaw Massacre franchise.
Taylor is stepping in for Angela Bettis, who dropped out after Leatherface conflicted with another project, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
She joins Stephen Dorff, Sam Strike, James Bloor, Sam Coleman and Jessica Madsen in the flick, which Millenium recently revealed centers on “a young nurse who is kidnapped by four violent teens who escape from a mental hospital and take her on a road trip from hell. Pursued by an equally deranged lawman out for revenge, one of these teens is destined for tragedy and horrors that will destroy his mind, molding him into the monster we now call Leatherface.”

Lili Taylor has been cast as Leatherface's mother in the upcoming Texas Chainsaw Massacre prequel.
The actress replaces Angela Bettis, who was originally down to play the character but dropped out due to a scheduling conflict.
EastEnders actor Sam Strike will play her on-screen son, a violent teen who eventually becomes the title character.
Leatherface will focus on the teen's escape from a mental hospital and kidnap of a young nurse. He and other escapees are then chased by an equally crazed lawman looking for revenge.
Stephen Dorff recently landed a role in the film too, as well as James Bloor, Sam Coleman and Jessica Madsen.
Written by Seth M Sherwood, the film will be directed by Alexandre Bustillo and Julien Maury, and is tipped for release in 2016.

Once again, rather strangely, heading to British TV for its young cast, Texas Chainsaw Massacre prequel Leatherface has just gained Jessica Madsen. The Mr. Selfridge actress joins Sam Strike (Eastenders) and James Bloor (Dci Banks). The new Chainsaw film follows 2013's hapless Texas Chainsaw 3D as the eighth film in the scrappy franchise. It's the second to be called Leatherface, following Jeff Burr's third instalment in 1990 starring a young Viggo Mortensen. It's also the second attempt at a prequel, after Jonathan Liebesman's Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning in 2006.Like Liebesman's film, the new Leatherface is following the hulking killer's early years in the 1970s, although in this case we'll find him in his teens before he dons the mask and picks up the saw. It seems to be a mystery revolving around three teenage psychopaths, one of whom will grow up brain William Vail with a hammer and endlessly chase Marilyn Burns.
