In the Wake of Ire
Logline: A film about a small town father and a daughter with amnesia reconnecting after being separated for 20 years.
Elevator Pitch:
“In the Wake of Ire” is a story about Benjamin’s attempt at reconnecting with the greatest loss of his life: his relationship with his daughter Rosemary. Set in both the present day and the early 1990s, the story surrounds the darkest days of Benjamin’s younger life, and the one chance that he has at reconnecting with his daughter. What makes this story unique is the dynamic between the two; as any father would, Benjamin recognizes his daughter the moment he sees her. Rosemary, however, has no memory of her father, and sees nothing more than another stranger living in the town.
Production Team:
Writer | Director: Brian Maurer
Producers: Michael A. Coleman, Erin Heatherman, David O’Brian
Cinematographer: Samuel Ott
About the Film:
This project has been a part of my life for the last seven years, from short story to script. I’ve always wanted to tell a story that connects with an audience on a visceral level. This film is a way for me to communicate a very real, tangible family experience that I believe any audience will connect with. Stemming from elements of my own life, and a deep need to share a powerful visual story, it’s my goal to create a story that shows audiences the rich storytelling that comes from the midwest.
Current Status: We are currently in pre-production and at the beginning stages of fundraising. Locations, cast, and crew are in place.
