With the Nashville Reunion Concert tour right around the corner, Chris Carmack had to put himself through quite the mid-SAG-AFTRA strike makeover, as seen in an amusing video posted to his Instagram page.
The video (embedded below) portends to capture the moment that Sam Palladio, one of the tour’s four headliners, invited Carmack to join in the reunion — if only for two “One Night-Only” nights.

Former Pretty Little Liars star Brant Daughtery will be starring with former Nashville star Clare Bowen in the upcoming Hallmark movie, #Xmas.
As the title suggests, Christmas goes viral when Bowen's character, Jen, a talented up-and-coming interior designer who keeps to herself, enters a contest with a social media slant.
Jen's best friend, Max (Daugherty), encourages her to enter the competition and joins her as her fictional husband to make the most impact. As Jen manufactures the perfect home and family, she grows closer to her mother and sister, finally sees Max in a romantic light, and realizes there's nothing like the real thing.
We had the chance to chat with Brant about the movie, what he enjoys about the Hallmark universe, and a whole lot more.
I wanted to reach out to you about #Xmas because Max seems a lot like the you that I see on social media.

Oscar-winning screenwriter Callie Khouri had an ace in the hole when she created the ABC-turned-cmt musical drama Nashville a decade ago: She’s married to T Bone Burnett, a songwriter and record producer with 13 Grammys to his name. And Burnett’s supervision of Nashville’s first-season music helped sell the illusion that Connie Britton’s Rayna James and Hayden Panettiere’s Juliette Barnes were actually country superstars. Unfortunately, Burnett left the show after Season 1 amid conflict with ABC executives, but his work on the show helped Nashville soundtrack albums soar on Billboard’s U.S. Country charts. With Nashville hitting its 10th anniversary on October 10, we’re sharing our favorite tracks from the show — including ones performed by costars Charles Esten, Clare Bowen, Sam Palladio, Chaley Rose, and real-life sisters Lennon and Maisy Stella. “If I Didn’t Know Better” by Clare Bowen and Sam Palladio Co-written by John Paul White of The Civil Wars,...

It's kind of crazy that I've been doing this job so long and have never had the pleasure of chatting with Chad Michael Murray.
Hallmark's Sand Dollar Cove changed that, and jumping on the call to chat with him was quite revealing. In addition to Sand Dollar Cove, he's got a full slate of entertainment coming our way.
Please check out our full interview below, and don't forget to read our accompanying piece with his Sand Dollar Cove costar, Aly Michalka. The movie is very charming and perfect entertainment for a summer Saturday.
So how did you get involved with Sand Dollar Cove?
Oh, gosh. Let's see. I have been fortunate enough to have a pretty decent relationship with Hallmark over the last few years. I love bringing wholesome content to the air. I love bringing joy to people's faces. That's why I became an actor in the first place.

Hugo Weaving and Jillian Nguyen in ‘Loveland’.
Jillian Nguyen landed her first screen role – as Molly Kane in Justin Kurzel’s True History of the Kelly Gang – just two weeks after graduating from 16th Street Actors Studio in Melbourne last year.
Since then her career has rocketed as she played the lead in Ivan Sen’s romantic sci-fi drama Loveland followed by a key supporting role in Hungry Ghosts, Matchbox Pictures’ genre-bending 4-parter for Sbs directed by Shawn Seet.
There was one speed bump after Kurzel’s film wrapped: She was so depressed she got fired from her retail job. It’s unlikely she will have to go back to such work, as Seet says: “I was blown away by Jillian. She is a real, natural talent.”
Stephen Corvini, who produced Hungry Ghosts with Timothy Hobart, tells If: “She is a superstar in the making. On the screen her energy crackles and pops.

Suzy Wrong as Roxy in ‘Hungry Ghosts.’
Suzy Wrong worked as a performer in her native Singapore but apart from a guest role in an episode of Crownies in 2011 she had abandoned hopes of acting.
As a transgender woman she saw little or no hope of playing trans characters, particularly because those few she had seen were almost always portrayed as tormented and struggling.
Happily that all changed when she won a key supporting role in Hungry Ghosts, Matchbox Pictures’ four-part, character-driven supernatural drama based on an original idea by Timothy Hobart, which explores three generations of Vietnamese Australian families, all haunted by the traumatic events of war.
Commissioned by Sbs and produced by Stephen Corvini and Hobart, the Shawn Seet-directed series opens on the eve of the Hungry Ghost Festival in Melbourne when a vengeful spirit is unleashed, wreaking havoc across the Vietnamese Australian community.

Jeffrey Katzenberg knows about being mentored — his mentor was the legendary agent Lew Wasserman.
“Lew was the one who took me by the hand and said, ‘This is the one we all need to be behind,’” Katzenberg remembers. “To have him as a mentor in this only makes it that much more important for me to be here.”
Here was the Motion Picture & Television Fund’s NextGen summer party for young Hollywood talent both in front of and behind the camera, held on Thursday at the Paramount lot in Hollywood.

Spoiler Alert: The story includes details about the series finale of Nashville.
Nashville tonight wrapped its six-season run — four on ABC and two on Cmt — with an eventful finale that featured the return (in a flashback) of the beloved Rayna James (Connie Britton), a happy ending for virtually every character but baddie Brad and a love letter to the city of Nashville.
It was payback time for the final season’s villain, the arrogant label owner Brad (Jeffrey Nordling). With help of Deacon (Charles Esten), Alannah (Rainee Lyleson), the object of Brad’s unwelcome sexual advances in the final season’s #metoo storyline, pulled off a sting operation, getting Brad’s harassment on tape. She, Deacon and Zach (Cameron Scoggins) then used the recording to blackmail Brad into selling his Shiny New Records to Deacon and Zach for a fraction of its value. And Jessie (Kaitlin Doubleday) got full custody of their son Jake.

The time has come y'all, the Nashville series finale airs tonight. While we are already sad about having to say goodbye to the country-music based series there have been so many good episodes and moments that we can be happy about. The best part about the ABC and then Cmt series are the characters. There are so many amazing characters like Rayna James (Connie Britton), Deacon Claybourne (Charles Esten), Scarlett O'Connor (Clare Bowen) and Juliette Barnes (Hayden Panettiere). Those wonderful characters and the actors who brought them to life are only the tip of the iceberg of things we will miss when the Nashville, Tennessee-based show goes off the air for good. When ABC cancelled the Nashville TV series after four seasons, it seemed the song would end with no final refrain. After Cmt rode to the rescue and picked it up (with an assist from Hulu), star Connie Britton left partway through season five, leaving fans wondering if cancellation once again loomed. Although the cable network renewed it in April of 2017, by November they announced Nashville would end with its sixth season. So, why track the ratings? Well, it keeps us out of trouble. It also gives us a good benchmark by which to assess the success of other TV shows, so stay tuned. In the sixth and final season, with Rayna James (Britton) gone, Nashville centers on country music superstar Juliette Barnes (Hayden Panettiere). The Cmt country music drama also stars Charles Esten, Clare Bowen, Sam Palladio, Chris Carmack, Jonathan Jackson, Lennon Stella,...

(Warning: Spoilers ahead for “Nashville” Season 5 and 6).
Is that who we think it is?
At the end of the final trailer for the last eight episodes of “Nashville,” Deacon (Charles Esten) asks “Is this real?” to a shadowy figure we can only assume is Connie Britton’s character Rayna Jaymes. We’ve got the same question as Deacon, considering Rayna died due to surgery complications after a car accident in Season 5.
It’s unclear how the show would bring back superstar Rayna, who left a lasting impact on superstar Juliette Barnes (Hayden Panettiere) — who, by the way, finds out in the trailer she’s pregnant. She’s also being held hostage by a cult in South America, so that’s no big deal. (Just kidding. That’s a huge deal. How will she get back to tell her daughter she’s a big sister?!)

The date is fast approaching to say so long to Cmt’s “Nashville,” but in true country music fashion, the show’s six-season song won’t end without one last heart-wrenching refrain.
“Nashville” has had a journey nearly as turbulent as the complex unfolding relationships of its musically gifted characters. Within a span of just two years, the country music drama has been canceled by ABC and resurrected by Cmt only to kill off its anchor, Connie Britton, in the fifth season. With the series end in sight — for real this time — cast mates Charles Esten and Clare Bowen say the final half of the sixth season doesn’t hold back any drama for its farewell.
“We always appreciated each other, but I think once you’ve lost it and you got it back, and then you know it’s going away again, you just sort of live it out in a different way,...

The end of the road is near for Nashville. Cmt has released a midseason trailer ahead of the hit country music drama’s final episodes, which begin airing next month.
In the clip we see Deacon (Charles Esten) in a familiar spot, struggling with his unresolved past. Estranged from his new relationship with Jessie (Kaitlin Doubleday), he’s left to deal with an old one – his father. Juliette (Hayden Panettiere) goes to war with Darius (Josh Stamberg), and will face a fight to save her career and her relationship with Avery (Jonathan Jackson). Meanwhile, Daphne (Maisy Stella) pursues her own musical career under the guidance of Deacon’s biggest enemy, Brad Maitland (Jeffrey Nordling), the ultimate manipulator.
It’s been quite a journey for Nashville since it premiered on ABC in 2012. Cmt saved the series following its sudden cancellation by ABC in May 2016, picking it up for its final two seasons.

Some obligatory credit is due to those ambitious (or, depending on the results, naive) enough to establish their name as a feature film director in 2017 on the basis of a genre-faithful western. The hazards of such an approach are not insignificant: take an earnest stab at crafting a film that belongs to a genre with an 80-year-long development trajectory — one that peaked as a self-contained narrative form well over 50 years ago, and has since hypertrophied into a self-aware meditation upon itself, replete with the postmodern, self-reflexive interrogations of the black-and-white moral worldview that forms the very meat-and-bones of the original films — and you run the risk of succumbing to unintentional parody in apparent disregard towards the historical developments of the genre you hope to submit to your vision. On the other hand, when executed with a slight, unostentatious nod to history and just the right touch of contemporary remixing, the rewards can be bountiful.

Last week, “The Crown” revealed that its third season of the royal drama would be jumping forward a few decades in time, and as a result recasting its leads, with the role of Queen Elizabeth II now passing from Claire Foy to Olivia Colman. This inspired the thought — what if “Stranger Things” (a period drama in its own way) pulled a similar move at some point during its run, jumping forward to something close to the modern day? And if it did, who should be enlisted to play the kids of Hawkins, all grown up?
Because perhaps they’ve remained friends over the years. Perhaps they’ve drifted apart. But it’s not hard to imagine strange things continuing to happen to these characters, no matter the time period. So here are our ideal picks for the cast of “Stranger Things 2017,” the kids as well as a few of the adults.
