Gethin Jones wept on BBC One’s Morning Live today (17 March) as he neared the end of a 24-hour dancing challenge for Red Nose Day.
The TV presenter, 45, had been awake all night, doing his 24-hour #StrictlyFitness dancing challenge to raise money for Comic Relief.
At the end of the 24 hours, it was revealed on the show that Jones had raised more than £900,000.
At one point during the challenge, he was shown crying with joy at how much he had raised.
Over on BBC Breakfast, clips were shown of Jones dancing throughout the morning, with the presenter so exhausted he was unable to speak. He managed to give a thumbs up to camera at one point, while bobbing up and down on the spot.
Countryfile star Helen Skelton briefly danced next to him, telling viewers he was a “broken” man.

Craig Revel Horwood has questioned Hamza Yassin’s Strictly Come Dancing win.
The judge shared his candid views on the subject while discussing the BBC competition’s latest series on Magic Radio.
Wildlife presenter Yassin was announced as the latest winner of Strictly in December 2022, and he beat Helen Skelton and Fleur East to take home the Glitterball trophy.
However, Horwood believes that, while Yassin “did an absolutely spectacular job”, East should have won the series.
“Fleur, can I say this on Magic, darling? She was robbed,” he told presenters Ronan Keating and Harriet Scott.
“There you go – that’s just me,” he continued.
“I mean, I absolutely love Fleur. For me, in the final, anyone could have won. I think Hamza did an absolutely spectacular job and he had all the audience behind him, which is really important as well.

Jessica Chastain has spoken about changing a “deeply disturbing” scene in George & Tammy.
Chastain and Michael Shannon star as country music power couple Tammy Wynette and George Jones in the recently released series.
In the first episode of the series, Wynette is still married to her soon-to-be ex-husband Don Chapel.
Chastain – who also serves as a producer on the show – told Marie Claire that the script initially saw Jones attempt to get Wynette alone by distracting Chapel with an escort.
The scene, however, “disturbed” Chastain to the point that she wanted it to be altered.
“I read it, and I was deeply disturbed,” Chastain said. “[Tammy] was just kind of sitting there. People were creating stuff so she could be caught rather than her making decisions.”
The actor went on to explain how it was important to her that her character be given more agency.
“The song isn’t about being a doorman.

Anton Du Beke has explained why he voted to save Will Mellor over Fleur East in the Strictly Come Dancing semi-final.
After a high-scoring semi-final on Sunday (11 December) night, East and partner Vito Coppola found themselves in the bottom two with Mellor and Nancy Xu.
After the couples performed again, both Craig Revel Horwood and Motsi Mabuse voted for East. But when the vote came to Du Beke, the former pro dancer said that East and Coppola had made “an error in a dismount from a lift”, and he wanted Mellor to go through.
The casting vote was then given to head judge Shirley Ballas, who voted for East and Coppola, and sent Mellor and Xu home.
However, on social media, many viewers suggested that the judges had made the wrong decision and that Du Beke was correct to take into account East’s mistake.

A Strictly Come Dancing contestant has been eliminated from the show just one week before the final.
On Sunday (11 December), the remaining celebrities performed two dances in the hopes of scoring a place in next week’s final.
Sadly, actor Will Mellor fell at the final hurdle and became the 11th person to be voted off this year’s series.
Mellor was in the dance off with singer and radio presenter Fleur East. Craig Revel Horwood and Motsi Mabuse opted to save East, but when Anton Du Beke saved Mellor, it was down to head judge Shirley Ballas to cast the deciding vote.
“First of all, the British public has spoken and with respect I take that on board,” Ballas said. “My fellow judges have decided that they don’t agree, so I have made lots of notes here. Both couples were outstanding and, not only today, but through the series.

Adam Sandler has said that he stopped reading reviews after the harsh criticism of Billy Madison.
The actor opened up about his views on film critics during a recent Netflix conversation for his recent movie Hustle.
Sandler, 56, said that he stopped paying attention to reviews after his 1995 comedy Bill Madison was torn apart by film critics.
Although the comedy – which Sandler co-wrote with Tim Herlily – is generally recognised to be a staple in the actor’s body of work, he recalled that 90 per cent of film critics called it “garbage” when it was released.
“When I was 17 and I got into this, I didn’t think about critics… I didn’t even realise that stuff was coming,” he said.
“I just thought you made movies, people go see it. When Billy Madison came out, me and my friend who wrote it, we were just like, ‘Oh yeah, they’re going...

The latest celebrity to be eliminated from Strictly Come Dancing has been revealed.
Saturday night’s results show (3 December) aired a day earlier than usual due to the BBC’s coverage of the World Cup.
Actor and singer Kym Marsh left the BBC competition after a dance-off with Molly Rainford.
Craif Revel Horwood and Motsi Mabuse opted to save Rainford after both couples performed their routines again, with Anton Du Beke saving Marsh.
Head judge Shirley Ballas saved Rainford, sending Marsh home – but all the judges said it was a “difficult” decision.
Speaking about the result, Marsh, who missed last week’s show due to Covid, said: “Honestly I’ve loved every single second that I’ve been here. I never thought I’d get to this stage, in a million years. I have to say, it’s all down to this man [Graziano Di Prima] here, he is just...

Helen Skelton hinted at her marriage split during the latest episode of Strictly Come Dancing.
During the broadcast, which occurred on Friday (2 December) instead of its usual slot on a Saturday, the Countryfile presenter explained why she said yes to the BBC dancing competition.
“I did Strictly this year because sometimes you just need to jump on the opportunity and chance to put a big smile on your face,” she said.
Skelton signed up to the show months after revealing that her ex Richie Myler had “left the family home” just four months after they welcomed their third child.
“Very sad to say that Richie and I are no longer a couple,” she wrote on Instagram in April. “He has left the family home. We will be doing our best to co-parent our small children.”
Skelton, who married Myler in 2013, accompanied the post with two broken heart emojis.

The Traitors, a new competition show on BBC One, has launched in “savage” fashion as it axed two contestants before the games had even kicked off.
Its debut episode on Tuesday (29 November) opened with host Claudia Winkleman greeting the 22 strangers as they arrived at a Scottish Highlands castle to play “the ultimate game of detection, backstabbing and trust” with the aim of winning up to £120,000.
Before the contestants could get stuck in, Winkleman instructed them to line up in order from who they thought was least to most likely to win the competition.
Amos, a 30-year-old doctor from north London, and Kieran, a 42-year-old solutions consultant from Hertfordshire, decided to place themselves as the least likely to triumph.
That was a mistake, as Winkleman swiftly informed them: “Every decision you make has a consequence. Every single one. So, you two, you think you’re going to lose.

Howard Stern has shared some harsh judgements of Oprah Winfrey, concerning her “wealth” and how she displays it.
Over the holiday weekend, the former Oprah Winfrey Show host shared a few videos from her home where she had lunch with Abbott Elementary creator and star Quinta Brunson.
In the background of the clips, a portion of Winfrey’s beautiful home and garden can be seen.
“Oprah’s not embarrassed by her wealth at all,” Stern said on Monday’s (28 November) episode of his self-titled radio show, The Howard Stern Show. “She loves showing it off on Instagram. It’s f***ing mindblowing when you follow her on Instagram, you see her estates, her gardens, the people who service her.”
His co-host Robin Quivers joked: “Service her? She’s not a car.”
“Well, she kind of is,” Stern responded. “She’s got servants and like people cooking and it’s f***king wild.

There’s a reason Stephanie Hsu’s Everything Everywhere All At Once villain may feel oddly familiar.
The actor plays Michelle Yeoh’s daughter in the sci-fi epic, which is generating a large amount of Oscar buzz.
In a new interview, Hsu said that she studied Jim Carrey as The Riddler and Joaquin Phoenix as The Joker to inspire her role.
Carrey starred as one of Batman’s most enduring enemies in the 1995 Val Kilmer-led Batman Forever, while Phoenix portrayed the Caped Crusader’s other titular supervillain in 2019’s The Joker.

Strictly Come Dancing judge Shirley Ballas has shut down critics for suggesting she was responsible for Fleur East landing in the dance-off.
During Saturday night’s show, singer East, who scored the first 40 of the series the week before, scored 35 points for her Rumba.
But despite appearing in the middle of the leaderboard, East found herself in the bottom two on Sunday (27 November) against Ellie Taylor.
All four judges voted to save East and her partner Vito Coppola over Taylor and Johannes Radebe, who’d been at the bottom of the leaderboard with just 25 marks during the live show.
However, on Twitter, one viewer suggested that it was head judge Ballas’s “overmarking” of Mellor and Hamza Yassin that had landed East in the bottom for the third time this series.
“This Is What Happens When You Overmark Will Mellor And Hamza Yassin And You Undermark Molly Rainford And Fleur East!

Fleur East has discussed the “Strictly curse” – the notion that the show is so intoxicating that the celebrities who participate end up falling in love with their professional coaches and splitting with their actual partners.
Singer and rapper East, who got a perfect score of 40 last Saturday (19 November) in Blackpool, was talking about the BBC One show’s impact on relationships in the newest episode of The Graham Norton Show.
When asked about the “Strictly curse”, she said: “The show’s been a blessing for my marriage, it’s been great. We’ve been together for 12 years and how often in your marriage do you dress up and look different every week, and get to do all these sexy dances in front of your husband?
“After the Argentine Tango, it was like we got married again! It was wonderful.”

Strictly Come Dancing viewers have called on the BBC to end the inclusion of backing dancers during Blackpool Week.
The dance competition series returned to the Blackpool Tower Ballroom on Saturday (19 November) night, having not been able to film in the city since 2019 due to the pandemic.
During usual Strictly weeks, the couples are the only ones on the dance floor during their competitive routines.
However, in order to fill the huge sprung ballroom floor at the Tower Ballroom, the pairs are joined by additional backing dancers who perform alongside them in their routines for Blackpool Week.
During the show, viewers on Twitter shared their frustration at the extra dancers, saying that they “cluttered up” the dance floor and distracted from the competing couple.
“The worst thing about #strictly Blackpool is the additional backing dancers. They’re unnecessary and really draw attention to the celeb’s faults, whereas their partner can cover/compensate,...

Fleur East and Vito Coppola received the first perfect score of Strictly Come Dancing 2022.
During Saturday (19 November) night’s show, the dance competition series returned to the historic Blackpool Tower Ballroom for the first time since 2019.
Singer East and Coppola performed second to last with a Couple’s Choice routine to a Destiny’s Child megamix, including the songs “Jumpin’, Jumpin’” and “Lose My Breath”.
After performing the fast-paced routine, judge Craig Revel Horwood – who was yet to get his 10 paddle out this series – told East: “One word, three syllables, beginning with F: fab-u-lous.”
Motsi Mabuse said that East was the missing member of Destiny’s Child, while Shirley Ballas said it was an “iconic routine that will go down in history”.
Anton Du Beke praised East’s control, saying that the dance was “as good as we’ve done, ever”.

Strictly Come Dancing star Rose Ayling-Ellis has revealed who she thinks will win the 2022 series.
The EastEnders actor is the reigning Strictly champ, having won the Glitterball Trophy in 2021 with partner Giovanni Pernice.
Ayling-Ellis, who is deaf, wowed the judges and audiences throughout the competition, but was best known for her Couple’s Choice routine to “Symphony” by Clean Bandit.
During the performance, the pair danced a stretch of the routine in total silence, to recreate Ayling-Ellis’s experience of dancing without being able to hear the music for the audience.
Appearing on This Morning on Wednesday (16 November), Ayling-Ellis recalled her experience on the show and admitted that she “can’t believe it’s been one year”.
“Everyone still remembers it, everyone still knows that dance,” the 27-year-old said.
“It does send out a powerful message, but I want to carry on with the work. That’s what’s most important to manage.

Tony Adams has addressed rumours of a rift with his Strictly Come Dancing partner Katya Jones.
The former England football team manager is currently competing for the glitterball in the BBC dancing contest.
Towards the end of last Saturday’s (5 November) episode, Adams and Jones were seen to be having a serious discussion as hosts Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman were giving their final remarks.
Earlier in the programme, they’d scored 21 points out of a possible 40 for their salsa to “I Know You Want Me” by Pitbull.
The judges had picked up several technical mistakes that Adams had made during the dance, which Jones assured them he hadn’t been making during their training throughout the week.
After seeing the pair having a heated conversation, some viewers became convinced that they’d been involved in a row.
