Ekta Kapoor is back to giving the audience what they want and delivering it in style. The writer-producer powerhouse’s latest offering is directed by 1920 – Evil Returns’ director Bhushan Patel. No doubt the leading lady of the film needs no introduction, the one and only Sunny Leone. However, apart from Sunny the film boasts of an intriguing cast ensemble consisting of Divya Dutta, Parvin Dabas, Sandhya Mridul, newcomer Saahil Prem and Karan Mehra. Sequel to the 2011 surprise blockbuster starring Kainaz Motivala and Rajkumar Rao, Ragini Mms 2 follows the storyline of the first instalment.
Sunny Leone plays herself, an ex-porn film star who has now entered mainstream Indian cinema. She’s cast by the flamboyant Rocks (Parvin Dabas) in his screen adaptation of the Ragini Mms incident. Despite clear warnings by the Archaeological Society of India outside the mansion where the Ragini Mms incident took place, Rocks insists on using...

"This is an independent film, 'Ragini' (Ragini Mms), of course, was a Balaji (Balaji Telefilms Ltd) film so the difference (in promotions) is expected. But I think this film's Usp is that it will gain word-of-mouth publicity. I think it's going to be.

Ragini Mms titillates a little, scares a bit and makes audience laugh aplenty, and not entirely by design. The “inspired” work of cinema is a movie buff’s delight for its obvious inspirations. From LSD (that it pays onscreen tributes to) to Paranormal Activity, it’s splattered all over with blood of sources that it thankfully doesn’t kill entirely, however, it does fail to raise above the shadow of originals remaining mostly crafty yet ominously inadequate.
The opening credits play on Tulsidas’s Hanuman Chalisa (The forty lined verse praising Lord Hanuman who is believed to be capable of warding off evil spirits!!) This is probably the peak of desi-ization!! The Chalisa doesn’t later come up in the narrative of the film. Even if it had, Hanuman, being a celibate, wouldn’t have helped the protagonists...

Director: Pawan Kriplani
Cast: Kainaz Motivala (Ragini), Raj Kumar Yadav (Uday )
Rating: **1/2
Uday (Raj Kumar Yadav) buys almost two-dozen packets of condoms before he takes the petite Ragini (Kainaz Motivala) to an eerie farmhouse in the middle of nowhere. Unknown to the giggly girl, there are half a dozen cameras planted all over the place preparing to film their dirty weekend. As lights flicker and background drones & bangs become deafening, you notice a ghoulish presence in the house. The evil spirit is not pretty, she doesn?t like house guests and she only speaks Marathi.
Welcome to Pawan Kriplani?s digitally-filmed ode to terror, Ragini Mms. Anything and everything that the filmmakers can possibly do to scare you, they do. The scenes go from supernatural horror to terrifying scares, and even resort to mind f*** moments that finally succumb to the slash-fest–blood and gore route.

Much awaited and hyped movie Ragini Mms is finally released. This much awaited film which created a buzz didn’t live up to the expection. It could have been better.
The story goes like one couple that is Ragini (Kainaz Motivala) and Uday (Raj Kumar Yadav), goes out for a dirty weekend at a friend’s farmhouse on the outskirts of Mumbai. The much-in-love and passionate weekend in no time changes to the most horrible experience ever. The place itself gives the negative vibes. The whole house is fixed with.
