Chennai, June 27: Tanvi Ganesh Lonkar, who played the adolescent version of Frieda Pinto in Danny Boyle's Oscar-winning "Slumdog Millionaire", is making her Tamil debut with romantic-thriller "Sandithen Unnai". Its director is impressed with the 18-year-old.
"I don't know if it's the effect of Danny Boyle or because she is a natural actor, but Tanvi is a treat to work with. Even though she has a language barrier, she doesn't allow it to come in between her work. She learnt her lines and mouths them with confidence," the film's director Nagamaneci, told Ians.
The director adds that she is a keen observer.

Remember those late '80s commercials where a victorious athlete would exclaim "I'm going to Disneyland"? Well, that ad campaign could be recast with the young stars of Slumdog Millionaire.
Following the movie's Oscar sweep, Tanvi Ganesh Lonkar (who plays middle Latika), Madhur Mittal (older Salim), Azhar Mohammed Ismail (young Salim), Ayush Mahesh Khedekar (young Jamal), Rubina Ali (young Latika), Tanay Hemant Chheda (middle Jamal) and Ashutosh Lobo Gajiwala (middle Salim) visited Disneyland on Monday. Making the moment even more adorable/press-op-y, the kids took a ride on It's A Small World. Ahh...now if only Ryan Seacrest would have tried to pronounce their names on the red carpet.

The SAG Awards sparkled. Women in beautiful dresses, perfectly accessorized; men crisply attired in suits or tuxes; and flash cameras and video everywhere—it was quite a scene. There was drama …
… and romance:
Boldface names made their way down the red carpet: the bolder the name, the faster they moved. Oops, there went Brad Pitt (Benjamin Button). Too late. But Alec Baldwin (30 Rock) did pause for a moment:
He picked up an award later that evening for male actor in a comedy series. Meanwhile, the unofficial award for cutest kids went to the ones playing adman Don Draper’s children in Mad Men. Kiernan Shipka looks sweet …

Scott Fitzgerald short story "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button" are Brad Pitt as the title character and Cate Blanchett as his soul mate, Daisy. But this spellbinding fairy tale -- beautifully adapted by Oscar winner Eric Roth (Forrest Gump) -- requires much more than just A-list power to paint its haunting picture. In a New Orleans hospital, a dying woman asks her grown daughter, Caroline (Julia Ormond), to read from a journal. The woman is Daisy, and the diary is the extraordinary story of a man she knew named Benjamin Button, who was born old and grew younger.
