- In spite of spending extensive time pursuing stunt and commercial work as a Parkour athlete, Dunlap claims his intention was always to use Parkour as a tool for jump starting an acting career. After he landed a role in Grimm (2011), Dunlap said, "It made me realize I didn't need Parkour or a special 'in' to be an actor. I realized I could just act and find success through focusing on the craft.".
- Studied international business and Spanish at Oregon State University. Took an accelerated course load and graduated with honors in three years.
- In 2008, Dunlap founded one of the first Parkour gyms in the USA called "Revolution Parkour." Dunlap sold the company in 2011 in order to move to France and work with the founder of Parkour, David Belle. Dunlap spent the following 2 years learning Parkour from Belle and pursuing film work in France.
- Moved to France in 2011 to study Parkour with founder David Belle. Over the next two years, Dunlap lived in Avignon as well as the Paris suburbs of Evry and Lisses.
- Fluent in English, French, and Spanish. Has also studied American Sign Language and Mandarin Chinese.
- Moved to Cuernavaca, Mexico in 2004 as part of a study abroad program. Spent a semester studying international business and Spanish at the Monterrey Institute of Technology and Higher Education.
