Wrestler Tom Lawlor on That Mlw Cage Fight Against Paul Walter Hauser & What’s Next
Image
Tom Lawlor has become one of the most well-versed athletes to transition from Mma to pro wrestling. His combat sports background made him among the most successful competitors in Major League Wrestling over the last seven years. A promotion that infuses elements of varying combat sports into its athletic presentation. The former Mlw Champion has thrived within this environment and was entrusted this summer to work with Fantastic Four actor Paul Walter Hauser. The Emmy and Golden Globe winner has been able to live his dream of entering the ring. Hauser’s involvement brought new eyes to Mlw, and Lawlor is aware of its importance of that. After a feud developed between Hauser and Lawlor, the two squared off in an Mma-style cage match at the aptly titled Never Say Never event in August. Here Lawlor reflects on mixing it up with the actor and what Mlw has been doing to stand out.

‘Impact Wrestling: Multiverse United’ Review (Mar 30th 2023)
Image
Welcome to this week’s review of Impact Wrestling, which is the very special Multiverse Untied show, featuring Impact going head to head with New Japan Pro Wrestling! The show opened with a “Countdown” match that saw Yuya Uemura defeat Gabriel Kidd. With that out the way, let’s get into the review…

Match #1: Scramble Match for the X-Division Championship – Trey Miguel def. Rich Swann, Kevin Knight, Frankie Kazarian, Clark Connors & Rocky Romero The following is courtesy of impactwrestling.com:

Everyone attacks Miguel at the opening bell as he’s thrown to the outside. Swann hits a rolling splash on Connors, followed by a twisting Frog Splash from Knight. Kazarian spikes Connors with the slingshot Ddt. Kazarian continues the assault with guillotine leg drops for Romero and Swann. Knight catches Kazarian in mid-air with a dropkick. Miguel takes everyone off the top with a huge Tower of Doom. Swann soars through the air,...

The Last Week in Wrestling #53 (Wrestling Round-Up)
Image
Welcome to this week’s column of The Last Week In Wrestling, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and we have Mr. Rogers here with us. Mr. Rogers: Hello my television neighbor. I wanted to talk to you about violence. When people watch violence, that doesn’t make them violent. Violence is wanting to be violent and then choosing to be violent. When you watch wrestling, you are watching it because you want to watch wrestling. Watching wrestling doesn’t always have a meaning besides wanting to watch wrestling. Wrestling can be fun, but we should always remember that wrestling can hurt the people that do it, because it is violent. When wrestlers get hurt, that’s not your fault. However, you should always try to empathize with them when they are in pain. Mr. Robinson: Hello boys and girls! I’m in pain listening to this old-ass...

‘Mlw: Fusion’ Review (Apr 29th 2021)
Image
Welcome to this week’s Mlw: Fusion review, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and Mlw debuted on Vice TV on Saturday. It showed a rerun of the episode where Davey Boy Smith Jr. clobbered ol Simon Gotch in that No Holds Barred Match. It’s nice see this league on a more known channel. I hope this additional TV home for Mlw leads to a better level if production value to this already well-produced show. Can you… Giant Gary Coleman: Watchoo talkin’ ’bout Willis?! Me: Oh my G… Gcc: I’mma smash yo ass! Me: Oh no you won’t! Giant Emmanuel Lewis: Dynomite! Gcc: That ain’t even yo catchphrase! Jimmy Walker: That’s mine! Dynomite! Daphne Zuniga: Get your black asses over here and f–k the Schwartz out of me! Me: Look at the size of those whammers! I gotta get out of here!

Welcome to this week’s Major League Wrestling: Fusion review, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and we have the finals of the Opera Cup, so get ready for the fat lady to start singing. Oprah! Get Ready For Your Brand New Submariiiiiiiiiine!!!!!!!! Low Ki and Tom Lawlor look poised to knock the knuckle-children out of each other like a deranged Easter bunny. I’m so excited to buy a tractor and give it to the homeless so they can mow the parking lot they sleep on at night. We have to care about others. If you are homeless or do know some-one who is, give them a buck and a place to sleep. We all deserve to have some comfort and generosity. Also, I wanna bite ya! Nanananana!!!!! Okay, I’m done filling in this paragraph to make it look like I wrote a lot. We’ve...

Gotch vs. Oliver grudge match at Mlw’s Kings of Colosseum
Image
Major League Wrestling have announced a Grudge Match for their Kings of Colosseum special next month: Simon Gotch vs. Jordan Oliver!

For almost 8 months Jordan Oliver and Myron Reed have wanted to get Contra in the ring or on the street. On May 9th, Contra Unit attacked Mlw during the Super Series. During the chaos, Contra took out a member Injustice. Since then, Reed and Oliver have been calling out various members of Contra, with Jordan Oliver targeting Gotch. This led to an altercation in September on Pulp Fusion where Jordan Oliver was jumped from behind and choked out by Gotch. Now the stage is set Gotch/Oliver in a grudge match. Will Contra play a role in this fight? Will Jordan Oliver get some justice?

Kings of Colosseum takes place on January 6 at 7pm Et and will be available on YouTube, Fubo Sports, Pluto TV. The event is being...

Welcome to Mlw: Fusion’s weekly review, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and we have more from the Opera Cup as… Colack: The Shunting shall commence in two days’ time! Nathan: Yeah, I’m still here. I don’t know what a shunting is, b… Colack: The Shunting is when a group of people f—, eat and meld into the victim’s body until they are one with them! Mlw announce double-debut on Fusion tomorrow!
Image
Major League Wrestling have today announced that tomorrow night Mlw’s flagship weekly series Fusion will showcase a double debut as Bu Ku Dao and LA Park Jr. collide in singles competition.

Tomorrow night Mlw will showcase a double debut as Bu Ku Dao and LA Park Jr. collide in singles competition.Born in Vietnam and fighting out of New Orleans, the barely 5 foot tall Bu Ku Dao looks to impress his mentor Tjp by displaying his Sanshou and kickboxing en route to having his arm raised in victory.

Standing in his way is the newest member of the “realest family” in the sport, LA Park Jr. The younger and physically bigger member of Los Park is a notoriously vicious brawler, much like his father, the legendary LA Park. Having competed in trios action, this bout marks LA Park’s singles debut in Mlw. Both men see this bout as...

Welcome to this week’s Major League Wrestling: Fusion review, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and we have another match in the Opera Cup and a Tag Team Title Match that will have two teams. Shocking! Do you wanna buy a watch? Do you know what time it is? It’s time to buy a new watch. So…do you wanna buy a watch? What do ya mean ya don’t wanna buy a watch?! Welcome to this return of Major League Wrestling: Fusion, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel Mlw is back, baby! Boom! We’re jumping right in to the Opera Cup, which is not about singing, So Shut The F— Up! Amigo, let’s get to it.

Match #1: Richard Holliday vs. Tjp (w/ Bu Ku Dao) – Opera Cup Tournament Match (Opening Round) The following is courtesy of mlw.com:

“The Carribean Champion” hands his title over to the offcial whom he prompts to hoist it up in a moment of glamour (this is a total non-title match for those keeping track). Holliday holds court further by making an event of him holstering his Air Pods. The bell rings and we’re underway. The two men circle one another before a very brief lock-up and a reset. The second lock-up has Tjp getting sent to the canvas due to the strength of Holliday.

‘Mlw: Fusion’ Wrestling Review (March 14th 2020)
Tom Lawlor
Welcome to this week’s Major League Wrestling: Fusion, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and processed sugar is the reason why you’re fat, not fat/calories/carbohydrates. If you’re not fat, then don’t get addicted to sugar. Also, moose piss tastes good…real good. Killer Kross is here to fight Tom Lawlor, because he’s staying in Mlw, forever/no he’s not…going to WWE.

Match #1: Myron Reed defeated Laredo Kid – Mlw World Middleweight Championship The following is courtesy of mlw.com:

Earlier today, Konnan was singing the praises of his latest prodigy Laredo Kid, but was interuppted by Injustice who k=contiues to toss shade at the legend. Konnan wasn’t having it, and challenged Myron to go defend his title with “Dumb & Dumber” in his corner. Myron decided not to take his advice and took Oliver and Brazil to the ring with him.

Welcome to this week’s Mlw: Fusion review, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and we have the Jagged Edge Killer…it’s Slade! Okay, let’s get right to the action on the 100th episode of the show, with Cima getting a crack at the World Championship.

Match #1: Davey Boy Smith defeated Erick Stevens The following is courtesy of mlw.com:

Tom Lawlor is on commentary as the two lock up. Big “Let’s Go Davey” chants echo throughout the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia. Shoulder tackle downs Stevens as the sold out crowd continues behind Db. Several snapmares by Davey who soons piefaces Stevens down. Some very hard shots traded between the two. Two bodyslams and a leg drop leads to Db hoisting Erick...

‘Mlw: Fusion’ Wrestling Review (Feb 1st 2020)
Welcome to this week’s Major League Wrestling: Fusion review, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and we have Amber Heard tricking the whole damn planet into thinking Johnny Depp abused her, when she’s actually just a lying psychopath. Good luck starring in Lifetime’s murder mystery of the week, darlin’. Okay, we’ve got some good wrestling to get to, so let’s rock.

Match #1: Davey Boy Smith Jr. defeated Simon Gotch – No Holds Barred Match The following is courtesy of mlw.com:

If there ever was a Bulldog’s determination to an individual, Davey certainly has it tonight as he squares off against the veteran Contra member. Davey is the initial aggressor as he downs Gotch to the canvas, but Simon forces him out of the ropeless ring. Davey leaps right back up and lock up again. The feeling out process continues until Davey rolls Gotch down.

The Last Week In Wrestling #47 (Wrestling Round-Up)
Welcome to this edition of The Last Week In Wrestling, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and Luke Skywalker was a jerk in The Last Jedi because Rian Johnson says that’s what we all paid for. Superman should always take the old lady crossing the road and toss her ass off a bridge. Why should Indiana Jones give a s— about history? Horatio Hornblower should just burn the house down. Casanova should take Zorro out and stab the towns-people! Then again, you could give people what they really want, which is good characters that are good because most people aren’t prone to throwing a big ol’ temper tantrum for reasons that are a mystery to themselves as well as every-body else. Did this last week in wrestling give us what we want, or is this just Jack Sparrow at an AA meeting?

Best Moment:

‘Mlw: Fusion’ Review (Dec 14th 2019)
Welcome to this week’s Major League Wrestling: Fusion review, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and we have The Opera Cup, which is a famous wrestling prize of yesteryear that has made its return in Mlw.

Match #1: King Mo & Ach def. Injustice (Kotto Brazil & Jordan Oliver w/ Myron Reed) The following is courtesy of mlw.com:

Ach shows his pure athleticism as he starts off the match with a flurry of offense. He and Mo do a double team hip-toss on Brazil. Mo kicks the legs of Kotto and tags back in Ach. Guest on commentary Dan Lambert says Mo wants checks and he wants gold in Mlw and that’s evident in this match. Kotto Brazil shows his athleticism against Ach, but also shows his underhandedness as he allows his Injustice members to seize attack on Ach behind his back. Lambert makes it clear that...

The Last Week in Wrestling #38 (Wrestling Round-Up)
Welcome to this week’s edition of The Last Week In Wrestling, right here in Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and there are a bunch of wrestling things to discuss, so let’s do so. This is a few weeks late, so sue me.

Best Promo:

Rowan Is His Own Man (WWE) – Erick Rowan cut a great promo where he told every-one he attacked Roman Reigns for his own benefit. This might have been the best option for Rowan. Hell, this is the best thing that’s ever happened in his career. Good for him.

Best Moment:

Nxt Debuts On USA (WWE) – What can I say? This is pretty cool. It might only be the first hour, but Nxt getting on network television is some-thing that wasn’t in the cards a few years ago, so this is a win.

Best Move:

Welcome to this week’s Major League Wrestling: Fusion review, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and it’s all about War Chamber. Hey, screw War Games. Nxt can go !@#$ itself. Alright, let’s get to the mayhem.

Match #1: Leo Brien defeated Blake Banks The following is courtesy of mlw.com:

A returning Leo Brien comes firing out into the Nytex Sports Centre to start off Fusion from Dallas. The once turned bounty hunter from Colorado was ruthless and relentless, making very quick work against his young opponent Blake Banks. He threw Banks across the ring by his ears (not a typo) before prepping him up for an Oklahoma Stampede for the devastating 1-2-3. Rich Bocchini said it perfectly: “Leo Brien means business” and the Dirty Blonde gives a final stomp to Blake before exiting.

My Opinion: 2.3 out of 5 – This was a squash that was over...

Welcome to this week’s Major League Wrestling: Fusion review, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and we’ve got a World Title match here, so don’t get you panties in a bunch, because Mlw: Fusion starts, a couple of days ago.

Match #1: Jordan Oliver, Myron Reed & Kotto Brazil defeated Gringo Loco, Zenshi & Air Wolf –Trios Tag Team Match The following is courtesy of mlw.com:

Gringo Loco and Jordan Oliver start things off as Loco uses his unorthodox athleticism before Air Wolf gets the tag, then Zenshi. The two masked men show their athleticism to ground the Injustice down. Loco joins in on the triple team assault before the Injustice clear the ring. Injustice try to take advantage but the sense of air-time went in the favor of Loco, Air Wolf and Zenshi as they took to the skies to take their foes down. The...

‘Mlw: Fusion’ Wrestling Review (July 20th 2019)
Welcome to this week’s review of Major League Wrestling: Fusion, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and we have a couple of big matches this week, so don’t touch that dial.

Match #1: Alexander Hammerstone defeated Davey Boy Smith Jr. – Major League Wrestling National Openweight Championship Match The following is courtesy of mlw.com:

The fireworks in first of Fusion’s two main events didn’t begin in ring as Alexander Hammerstone and Richard Holliday were interviewed earlier in the day by new Mlw correspondent Georgia Smith. Being the sister of Davey Boy, Georgia had to suffer the unsavory words of Hammerstone who wanted to show Georgia what a real man looks like. That couldn’t of sat well with Davey who found himself walking to the ring on his own as both Teddy and Brian were having flight trouble. Champion Hammerstone was flagged by Mjf,...

‘Mlw: Fusion’ Wrestling Review (June 22nd 2019)
Welcome to this week’s review of Major League Wrestling: Fusion, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and we have a wild main event to get to, so get your crazy pills out and get ready to go…crazy. That was supposed to be an Ozzy Osbourne reference, but it’s hard to do that line without screaming. Okay, let’s get in there and watch some Mlw.

Match #1: Richard Holliday versus Teddy Hart (No Contest)

My Opinion: 0 out of 5 – This was just an excuse to do one of those stolen title angles. Holliday stole the Mlw Middle-Weight Championship while Mjf jaw-jacked with Teddy Hart. Yeah, it’s as exciting as it sounds.

Match #2: Jordan Oliver beat Isaias Velazquez

My Opinion: 2.5 out of 5 – This was a good little match featuring two talented wrestlers. The action was easy to watch, like a lamb piloting a B-52 bomber.

Welcome to this week’s Major League Wrestling: Fusion review, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and we have one of the nastiest main events in American wrestling history on this show, so get your mop ready.

Match #1: Flamita defeated Rey Horus The following is courtesy of mlw.com:

Rumor has it, according to Cornette and Rich Bocchini from the broadcast booth, that de la Renta may have been scouting Horus, Flamita or both for possible inclusion in Promociones Dorado. So, why not book a match between them when she has the power as executive producer this week? That’s exactly what she did. In a great lucha libre contest, it was Flamita with the victory in his Fusion debut. Flamita scored a 450 splash off the top turnbuckle to pick up the win.

Match #1: Air Wolf defeated Rey Fenix The following is courtesy of mlw.com:

Nineteen-year-old rookie sensation Air Wolf has become quite a fan favorite in his short time in Mlw. He may have gained a new fan in one half of the Lucha Bros — Rey Fenix. Air Wolf and Fenix squared off and while Air Wolf took a beating from Fenix, he managed to avoid being pinned by the veteran luchadore. Air Wolf had his moments throughout the match, including a pair of German suplexes that were absolute beauties.

Match #1: Ace Romero defeated Simon Gotch – $20,000 Simon Gotch Prize Fight Challenge The following is courtesy of Mlw.com:

Gotch has been ranting for a week after losing to “Filthy” Tom Lawlor on last week’s episode. He swore he would make a statement this week. He offered an opportunity at a Simon Gotch Prize Fight Challenge to anyone in the back. All they had to do was last 5 minutes with Gotch and they’d win the cash. Gotch was not happy to see Ace Romero take him up on it. Not only did Romero survive 5 minutes without losing, he pinned Gotch outright and celebrated, tossing part of the $20,000 prize out to the Mlw crowd in attendance.

Promociones Dorado’s Ricky Martinez started the show off with a rather easy victory over Dr. Rex Bacchus. Martinez finished Bacchus off with a nasty suplex that showed off his strength, followed by a modified piledriver, which also required a great deal of power.
