The team of Nushrratt Bharuccha-starrer ‘Akelli’ had to change their shoot location from Turkey to Uzbekistan, after getting dangerous threats directed towards the lead actress. The sources claimed: “The production of the movie ‘Akelli’ experienced one tough curveball forcing the team to relocate their shoot from Turkey to Uzbekistan.
The trouble began when the production team received a dangerous threat directed towards lead actress Nushrratt Bharuccha, while they were in Turkey preparing for the shoot.”
“After completing the recce and survey of the location, the team was all ready to start preparation and shoot. However, the threat made the team choose a new location in Uzbekistan just 14 days before their shoot was supposed to start in Turkey. This decision was driven not only by safety concerns but also by the sensitive topic the film touched upon – through a terrorist organisation,” added the source.

It was a very poor week for Bollywood at the box office with not even a single new release managing to make any dent. Out of 8-9 Hindi films that were in the pipeline, only four could boast of some semblance of release – Bajatey Raho, Nasha, Issaq or Luv U Soniyo. However none of these could do much either in the weekend or the weekdays, hence turning out to be downers.
Bajatey Raho needed very stable weekdays to boast of some moolah that it could carry home. However that was not the case to be as the ensemble affair saw a downward trend with it’s first week billing reading around 7 crore. Though the film has been made at a minimal cost, the Shashant Shah directed affair would have done better with added collections.

Frances Ha | The Wolverine | Blackfish | Days Of Grace | Springsteen & I | Viramundo | Dial M For Murder | Best Of Luck | Bajatey Raho
Frances Ha (15)
(Noah Baumbach, 2012, Us) Greta Gerwig, Mickey Sumner, Michael Esper. 86 mins
Gerwig does a winning line in klutzy/ditzy in what's essentially a tailor-made showcase for her natural comic talents. An aspiring dancer whose sense of fun is starting to look a lot like immaturity, Frances is having trouble negotiating that tricky stage between studenthood and adulthood. A very minor crisis, admittedly, but this is more about character and tone, and Gerwig's New York misadventures are rendered with a casual verve that brings to mind the French New Wave or Manhattan-era Woody Allen.
The Wolverine (12A)
(James Mangold, 2013, Us) Hugh Jackman, Rila Fukushima. 126 mins
The X-badass rips into Japan in this solo adventure, but while Jackman's as mean and buff as ever, the story feels a little long in the claw,...

An avalanche of movies is arriving on screens this weekend, what with as many as four notable releases in the anvil. Primarily word of mouth films, one expects a better start in the multiplexes for Bajatey Raho whereas Nasha should open better in the single screens. As for Issaq, it does look like an interesting film and good reviews coupled with quick word of mouth from audience could give it a chance at the box office. Between these three films, Bajatey Raho has been the most visible of the lot and since it is backed by a premium production house (Eros’ Raanjhanaa is still running in theaters), the release would be widespread as well. A comedy, it could well be a Chalo Dilli moment for director Shashant Shah since the Vinay Pathak-Lara Dutta starrer too had released amidst as many as six films and still emerged victorious. Mumbai, July 20: The Central Board of Film Certification (Cbfc) has passed director Shashant Shah's revenge comedy "Bajatey Raho" with a U/A certificate, without suggesting any cuts.
The film showcases the youth's way of dealing with con against con in order to bring justice. With Dolly Ahluwalia as the protagonist, the film has an ensemble cast of Tusshar Kapoor, Vinay Pathak, Ranvir Shorey, Ravi Kissen and Vishakha Singh.
"At an official level, no member of the censor board is allowed to give a filmmaker any personal feedback on his film. But just looking at their faces after they had watched the film, it felt like they had completely.

“Mere paas Ma hain!” This iconic line once defined an a whole age of cinema (mainly the 60s and 70s) which was dedicated to upholding the mother’s wishes but is one which – according to actress Dolly Ahluwalia is deteriorating in this new era of film, where the focus is at times on the ‘item’ numbers of a film rather than the actual plot itself (Tees Maar Khan anyone?).
“There are not many roles for senior artists currently, and the significance of mother in present films is lost. The mothers of the 1960s used to play central characters but now we are losing that”, Dolly stated in a recent interview.
Dolly Ahluwalia who recently starred in, Vicky Donor and Luv Shuv Tey Chicken Khurana, says that there are fewer roles for senior female artists nowadays.
The actress said that earlier roles for women used to be much stronger, but not anymore.

New Delhi, July 4: After essaying a typical Dilliwala in "Khosla Ka Ghosla", actor Ranvir Shorey was conscious about staying away from playing a Delhi-guy on the big screen. But he changed his mind for Shashant Shah's "Bajatey Raho".
"As much as I loved playing a Delhiite in 'Khosla Ka Ghosla', it was quite irritating to be offered so many roles where people wanted me to be known as a guy from the capital. I appreciate the fact that everyone liked me in that role, but I've always tried to do different roles," Ranvir said in a statement.
That's when he vowed not to do any more roles that put him in that bracket.

After a flurry of flip-flops, Tusshar Kapoor's next film finally has a confirmed title. It is Bajatey Raho. "And it is verified as per numerology too," quips a source attached to the film, "It started off with one title, then later it was changed to Bhajathey Raho at Tusshar's insistence (since he - just like sister Ekta Kapoor - is very particular about numerology) and then there were a few other titles thought as well. Now it is Bajatey Raho and it is final. There won't be any more changes." The decision was taken last week when it was time to freeze on the film's promotional campaign. The source adds, "It was high time as the film is slated for 26th July release. There were many suggestions pouring in. Particularly Bhajathey Raho wasn't really coming across to be as striking as it ought to be. Finally, there was...

Cast: Lara Dutta, Vinay Pathak; Director: Shashant Shah; Rating: 2.5 out of 5.
Two antithetical characters coming from antipodal civilizations and lifestyles, stumble upon one another in this journey of simple emotions and comedy of errors.
A convivial and gawky Manu Gupta (Vinay Pathak), unwittingly makes sophisticated, chic Mihika Banerjee (Lara Dutta) miss her flight, and encounters her on the next flight to Dilli. They have barely spoken to each other and she dislikes him already.
He is rural, she is urban; he is ill-mannered, she drips etiquette; he imposes himself on her, she is reluctant; he.

Let the silly season commence with this expensive comic-book movie, which takes full advantage of its second-tier superhero, free casting rein and Asgard-sized budget to deliver some premium disposable spectacle.
