Plinio Profeta is a Brazilian musician, composer, and music producer. He is recognized as one of the most talented and innovative composers for films and series in Brazil. Early in his career, Profeta won a Latin Grammy for his work as producer and musician on Lenine's "Falange Canibal" CD. Plinio began his professional career in Los Angeles playing bass guitar in bands. Later on, he became a musical producer, playing multiple instruments. When he returned to Brazil, he produced and worked with several artists such as Pedro Luis, O Rappa, Lucas Santanna, Xis, Lenine, Lobão, Sandra de Sá and Tiê.
Because of his work as a music producer and with his bands, he was invited to write and produce music for films. To date, he has written soundtracks for more than 50 films, including some of Brazil's biggest blockbusters. Profeta won the "Brazilian Oscar Award" (Brazilian Cinema Grand Prix) twice. In 2016, the film "Divine Divas," in which he signs the Original Score, won Best Overall Film Award at SXSW.
The composer has released albums of his soundtracks such as "Sessão de Terapia", the Brazilian version of HBO's "In Treatment", for which he wrote the soundtrack for all 5 seasons.
