Former Dancing With The Stars pro Cheryl Burke retired at the end of Season 31 after a total of 26 seasons on the show. She won two Mirrorball Trophies during her run and made it to the finale several times.
After leaving the series, Cheryl launched a podcast where she dishes on behind-the-scenes drama and invites former competitors to share their own experiences. Needless to say, it’s not wildly popular with people still involved with DWTS.
Now, Cheryl claims that the show didn’t even want to give her a proper goodbye after 26 seasons. Read on to see what she said.
Cheryl Burke Wasn’t Feeling The Love When She Retired
Many long-time DWTS fans felt a wide range of emotions when Cheryl Burke officially retired at the end of Season 31. It was also the last season for Len Goodman, who died a few months later.
The farewell episode for Len and Cheryl was incredibly emotional.

Since Cheryl Burke left Dancing With The Stars a few seasons ago, she’s still kept a relatively strong social media presence. She may not be professionally dancing any longer, but DWTS is still heavy on her mind.
In fact, she launched a new podcast, Sex, Lies, & Spray Tans, where she dives into the backstage drama on the show. She’s had many former competitors as guests including Chris Jericho, Shangela, and even the controversial Sean Spicer.
But while searching for guests for the podcast, Cheryl has run into a bit of a snag. Some guests are hard to secure or have backed out entirely from the show.

It’s the semi-finals, and boy does it feel like eons ago when poor Matt Walsh crashed and burned after only one night in the ballroom. Imagine if he had stayed and Harry Jowsey kicked the bucket early, instead! Oh, the laughs we would have had from the droll Veep star.

We thought there was a possibility that “Most Memorable Year Night” on “Dancing with the Stars” would be a non-elimination night, but alas, Oscar winner Mira Sorvino was sent home at the end of the evening. Gold Derby contributor Cordell Martin “was kind of bummed that Mira went home earlier than I think we would love for her to go,” but “she was just one of those contestants … who’s really good, but just couldn’t find her footing in terms of being at the top of the leaderboard or having that strong fan base to carry her through.” Watch Martin’s slugfest with Jeffrey Kare and Daniel Montgomery above.

The heartfelt tribute to Len Goodman on Dancing With the Stars this week would not have been the same without the return of Og dance pros. After the live episode aired, Louis van Amstel, Maksim Chmerkovskiy, Tony Dovolani, and Anna Trebunskaya chatted with TV Insider about their emotional visit to the ballroom, honoring Goodman, changes to the show, and whether or not they’re up for coming back for more appearances. There were quite a few contemporary dances performed on “Most Memorable Year” week. While those dances served as a stark contrast to the traditional Waltz that was performed for Goodman, that wasn’t the only reason there were so many of them. “When it comes to ‘Most Memorable Year,’ doing contemporary allows you to express more,” pointed out Dovolani. “The show balanced out those dances with all of us coming back and doing a classic dance to honor Len.

“Len was just charming, and that’s how I remember him even at 12-years-old,” said ballroom dancer, six-time Mirror Ball champion and now “Dancing with the Stars” judge Derek Hough on “Most Memorable Year Night.” He was reminiscing about Len Goodman, who had judged “DWTS” since its very first season in 2005. But he decided to retire from the show at the end of the 2022 season, and then he passed away in April 2023. The show paid tribute to the late, great Goodman with a special group dance. Watch the entire segment above.
“He’s been in my life since the very beginning,” remembered Mark Ballas. Indeed, for many “DWTS” pros Goodman’s influence began well before the dance competition series first came on the air almost two decades ago. “He was very well respected within the ballroom community,” explained Kim Johnson-Herjavek. Ballas added, “He was a big-time judge when we were all starting to compete.

It’s been six months beloved judge Len Goodman passed, but Dancing with the Stars isn’t ready to say goodbye just yet.

It ended with the troupe gesturing to an empty middle chair on the judges’ dais. Carrie Ann Inaba and Bruno Tonioli wept.

Dancing with the Stars viewers are calling foul on judges Carrie Ann Inaba, head judge Derek Hough, and Bruno Tonioli. Dancing with the Stars Season 32 cast member Barry Williams entered week two of DWTS facing a challenging Cha Cha for Latin Night. Peta Murgatroyd trained Williams in the dance, incorporating small, quick steps rather than long glides across the dance floor.
In a video package accompanying William’s Cha Cha, Peta Murgatroyd and other competing couples celebrated Williams’ 69th birthday in a DWTS rehearsal room. The former Brady Bunch star admitted a great birthday gift would be high scores from the judges.

Dancing with the Stars returns to ABC (and continues streaming on Disney+) for Season 32 on September 26, and host Alfonso Ribeiro is hinting at some sweet tributes to late judge Len Goodman. The former Fresh Prince of Bel-Air star appeared at the Hard Rock Hotel in New York City immediately following the season’s casting announcement on Good Morning America, where he told reporters about the plans being implemented to keep Goodman’s memory alive in the fabric of the reality competition. “I can guarantee you that every one of those pros will be making sure that the routines are still designed for Len,” Ribeiro informed reporters on-site at the event. “I know I’ve talked to a few of them, and they will be putting in specific steps that Len used to love, just to make sure that the content is still there for Len.” A sweet inclusion, viewers of...

In just weeks, the newest installment of Dancing With the Stars will premiere on ABC. The series’ 32nd season promises even more ballroom excitement and significant changes than ever before. Series host Alfonso Ribeiro will usher in the fun alongside co-host Julianne Hough, whose Emmy-winning brother Derek Hough will take over the late Len Goodman’s role as head judge. Here’s what he had to say about this significant change on the judging panel.
Alfonso Ribeiro believes Derek Hough may experience ‘growing pains’ in his new role
During 31 seasons of Dancing With the Stars, Len Goodman held firm as the series’ head judge. He weighed in with expert critiques of the pros and celebrities alongside fellow judges Carrie Ann Inaba and Bruno Tonioli.
Just five months after season 31 wrapped, Goodman died at 78. He retired from the series to spend more time with his family.

Video games have the ability to transport players to interactive worlds beyond their wildest imagination, defeat bosses to become the hero they wish they could be in real life, and step inside an identity that they wouldn't otherwise understand. Or, in the case of a game like "Twisted Metal," drive an armored ice cream truck and blow up enemies with a remote-controlled rocket launcher. The vehicular combat video game was the lifeblood of the Dorito-dusted finger lickers of America in the late '90s and early 00s, and while there is a story players can follow ... most people opt to obliterate their pals with nuclear weapons. Yet, somehow, Peacock adapted the game into one of the most entertaining new series of the year.

It was lucky No. 13 in more ways than one for Derek Hough. The three-time Emmy winner received his record-breaking 13th choreography nomination for his show-stopping routine to Michael Bublé‘s “Higher” on “Dancing with the Stars,” surpassing Debbie Allen as the most nominated choreographer in Emmy history. He found out via a phone call in bed and then his whole life started “flashing before my eyes” of all the blood, sweet, tears and “thousands and thousands of hours” he had put into dance since he was a kid.
“Choreographing was never something I thought about doing or being,” Hough tells Gold Derby (watch the exclusive video interview above). “I don’t know what it’s like now, but when I was choreographing, there was no classes of like, ‘This is how you choreograph. You do this, you do that.’ There was no education of it except for just experience. So...

This article contains spoilers for the Black Mirror episode “Demon 79.”
Black Mirror Season 6 Episode 5
Here’s another dubiously happy ending to add to Black Mirror’s growing pile: Girl summons demon, girl fails to commit the required number of human sacrifices to avert the apocalypse, demon asks her to spend eternity with him cast into a matterless void, girl says she’ll give it a go.
A matterless void, as protagonist Nida (Anjana Vasan) dryly notes, isn’t a million miles away from the life she was leading at the start of “Demon 79”, which was co-written by Charlie Brooker with new exec producer, Ms. Marvel and Loki’s Bisha K. Ali.
A young Anglo-Indian woman living alone in a drab flat, working a thankless department store job and having to wordlessly absorb the drip-drip-drip of ambient racism in 1979 Britain, Nida’s world didn’t have much to recommend it.
Enter: Satanic minion Gaap.

T-Pain considers himself a pretty talented vocalist - no autotune needed. He even dared to test out his skills by releasing a cover album in March titled "On Top of the Covers" - which includes fresh renditions of classics like Sam Cooke's "A Change Is Gonna Come," Journey's "Don't Stop Believin'," and Sam Smith's "Stay With Me." However, T-Pain tells Popsugar there's one song on the album that he was nervous to recreate.
"'War Pigs,' and it wasn't because of the difficulty of the song. It was because I was kind of worried about the reception of it because it's just like, 'You sure about that?' You don't go messing with people's classics," he says.

Warning: This piece contains major spoilers for the final season of “Never Have I Ever.” If you haven’t watched yet, turn back now!
Netflix’s “Never Have I Ever” Season 4 opens new chapters for all characters, including Vishwakumar matriarch Nirmala (Ranjita Chakravarty) when she marries her new love Len (Jeff Garlin).
Nirmala’s wedding ceremony provides the last scene where everyone — Devi’s family and friends — come together before the show ends. The scene meant a lot to Poorna Jagannathan, who plays Nalini, Nirmala’s daughter-in-law and Devi’s mother.
“I’m just remembering a lot of people wrapped that day so it was very intense, very emotional. Yeah. The wedding scene is very symbolic of the show. It’s something that happened to Mindy’s dad. Mindy’s dad got remarried later in life. It’s something that happened to my mom at 64 and it’s a storyline that is unexpected,...

Despite knowing that Never Have I Ever Season 4 would be the show's last, it hadn't felt like it for the past seven episodes.
It felt like a typical day in Devi's life as she tried to excel in her studies and become as sexually experienced as possible before she got into Princeton.
The show's tone changed considerably as many big changes started happening, and everyone felt ready for the next steps of their lives.
Never Have I Ever Season 4 Episode 8 was packed with many significant moments that made it truly feel like the end was near. It was heart-warming to see these people grow and accept the good things they had coming their way, but it was also sad realizing this was it.
The end was closing in.
After texting a lot with Ben for the past few days, Devi was almost convinced that he was ready to jump into team Bevi again,...

We make plans and work hard towards achieving them, but life sometimes finds a way to knock us off course in a way we can never get back if we try.
Devi's plans for Princeton were cut short when she didn't receive the feedback she wanted on Never Have I Ever Season 4 Episode 6.
Everyone else had reason to celebrate because they had gotten into the college of their choice, but Fabiola was feeling less than celebratory. The secret was still troubling her.
Despite having a rough start in the morning, Devi was feeling celebratory, especially after hearing that someone had been accepted into Princeton.
Nothing could have prepared her for the results.
The feedback she'd gotten was pretty good, in most people's opinion, because it's better than being told no. Maybe there was something Princeton needed from her, and that was why they deferred her admission.

With “Cheers” reaching its 30th anniversary since the series finale — and with a revival of its popular spinoff, “Frasier,” expected later this year — it was time for the Atx Television Festival to do what it does best: host a reunion. Stars Ted Danson, George Wendt, and John Ratzenberger sat down with co-creators James Burrows, Len, and Glen Charles for an hourlong discussion about the impact of NBC’s landmark series.
Danson, every bit as thoughtful and tender as his “Cheers” character Sam Malone was single-minded and unrefined, made sure to honor who wasn’t in attendance, as well as those who made the trip to Austin, TX for Friday night’s panel. Initially, he credited co-star Shelley Long for getting him the career-making role in the first place.
“I don’t think we’ve seen a character like that since Lucille Ball,” he said of Long’s ebullient lead, Diane Chambers.

Former "Dancing With the Stars" judge Len Goodman has died at the age of 78. The news was confirmed to The Daily Mail via a statement revealing the star passed away on Saturday, April 22. "I can confirm he died peacefully over the weekend surrounded by his family," the statement read. Goodman is believed to have died in a hospice in Tunbridge Wells from bone cancer.
Goodman appeared as the head judge on BBC's "Strictly Come Dancing" from its launch in 2004 until 2016. His trademark catchphrase, "Seven!" became Saturday TV gold.
