Headed into today’s reductions, there had been chatter about Paramount TV Studios possibly downsizing. The studio, led by Nicole Clemens, has remained independent from the larger CBS Studios as the two combined support operations in November 2022 by centralizing finance, law, production and casting.
Paramount TV Studios, which absorbed Paramount+’s scripted originals team in 2022, is now streamlining its programming operations by consolidating development and current under Head of Development Jana Helman, who will continue to report to studio president Clemens.

Paramount Global has chosen the nine writers who will participate in the Paramount Writers Mentoring Program for 2024-2025. Selected in the program’s 20th year are Jamil Akim O’Quinn, Wei Ling Chang, Adrian Colón Jr., Jai Franklin Sarki, Seth Harrington, Natalie Higdon, writing team Dijorn Moss & Trinea Moss and Nick Spates.
The Paramount Office of Global Inclusion helms the program. It is an eight-month-long program that provides mentorships, career development, support and personal access to executives and the decision-making processes for new writers in television. The program’s end goal is to prepare them for a television career.

Paramount Television has added Rob Ortiz, Brian Agboh and Julie Katchen Swidler to its executive team.
Ortiz joins as Senior Vice President of Physical Production. With an extensive background as a Producer/Unit Production Manager in both television and features, Ortiz’s credits include Titans, Salvation, NCIS: New Orleans, and The Beguiled, among others. He began his new role in the Hollywood office on June 17; he’ll report to Debra Bergman, Head of Physical Production.
Katchen Swidler joins as Director on the newly-formed Current team, and will report to Cheryl Bosnak, Executive Vice President and Head of Current Programming. Katchen Swidler most recently served as Manager of Current Programming at Freeform where she was the covering executive on shows including Good Trouble, The Fosters and Pretty Little Liars. She starts June 24.
