Lilo And Stitch Has Already Outgrossed Thunderbolts* At The Worldwide Box Office
Image
After breaking the record for biggest Memorial Day opening weekend ever with a massive $183 million debut, Disney's Lilo and Stitch has now passed $400 million worldwide after playing in theaters for less than a week.

The Mouse House's latest live-action remake grossed an estimated $15.3M on Tuesday, bringing its domestic total to just under $200 million. The last update put the movie's global cume at $392.7 million, but it will easily have passed the $400 million milestone by now (we'll bring you the latest figures later today).

This is something Marvel Studios' Thunderbolts didn't manage to accomplish after almost a month in theaters. The antihero team-up movie has now taken in around $360 million worldwide, and analysts believe it may end up costing the studio as much as $100 million after P&a costs are taken into account.

A big win for Disney after Snow White's underperformance, and a sign that we shouldn't be expecting an...

Lilo & Stitch Director Addresses Controversy Surrounding The Live-Action Movie's New Ending - Spoilers
Image
Lilo & Stitch has been a massive box office hit, grossing over $360 million worldwide since opening over Memorial Day weekend. Reviews have been mostly positive (it currently sits at 69% on Rotten Tomatoes), with an "A" CinemaScore suggesting moviegoers enjoyed it more than critics.

While Lilo & Stitch closely adapts the 2002 animated movie of the same name, there are still some significant changes. To name just a few: Cobra Bubbles is split into two characters, Captain Gantu is completely Mia, and Jumba is positioned as the lead villain.

The ending is similarly overhauled. Rather than Nani and David becoming Lilo's main caregivers, the title character is fostered by David and his grandmother. Nani, meanwhile, goes to college and uses Jumba's portal gun to frequently visit Lilo and Stitch.

The main complaint is that Nani "abandons" Lilo to chase her own dreams. However, that simplistic view does somewhat miss the point...

Can ‘Lilo & Stitch’ Cross $1 Billion at the Box Office?
Image
So here’s the million-dollar question – or should we say, the billion-dollar question? Disney’s latest live-action remake of Lilo & Stitch has been absolutely crushing it at the box office since its Memorial Day weekend debut, and fans are wondering if this blue alien and his Hawaiian ohana can make it into that exclusive billion-dollar club.

With audiences clearly loving what they’re seeing, Dean Fleischer-Camp‘s adaptation is proving that sometimes, the magic of nostalgia mixed with solid family entertainment is exactly what moviegoers are craving.

Newcomer Maia Kealoha stars as Lilo alongside original voice actor Chris Sanders, who returns as Stitch. And, honestly, the chemistry is working. Disney remakes have been hit or miss lately, but this one seems to have struck the right chord with both families and longtime fans of the beloved 2002 animated classic. But can it work well enough to hit that magical ten-figure mark?...

The new, live-action remake of Lilo & Stitch has brought back three voice actors for a full-circle moment.

Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning And Lilo & Stitch's CinemaScores Have Been Revealed
Image
It's shaping up to be a huge Memorial Day weekend at the North American box office. While Lilo & Stitch will easily defeat Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning, the latter movie has received better reviews from critics.

Audiences, however, appear to feel differently...based on their respective CinemaScores, at least.

As a reminder, CinemaScore is a market research firm that surveys audience reactions to newly released movies. After attending opening night screenings, moviegoers rate films on an A+ to F scale, providing insights into audience satisfaction.

Widely used in the film industry, CinemaScore helps gauge the initial reception of movies and influences box office predictions based on audience feedback.

Lilo & Stitch has been awarded an "A" grade, the same score given to Beauty and the Beast, The Lion King, Aladdin, Cruella, and The Little Mermaid. It's also placed higher than Mufasa: The Lion King and Jungle Cruise (A-) and Snow...

‘Lilo & Stitch’ Director Dean Fleischer Camp, Stars Maia Kealoha & Sydney Elizebeth Agudong & Producer Jonathan Eirich Talk Contemporary Updates To Classic Story
Image
Spoiler Alert: This interview contains details from Disney’s 2025 Lilo & Stitch

Even though it’s been two decades since the release of the original animated film Lilo & Stitch, the theme of Ohana is anything but left behind or forgotten. In the new live-action remake directed by Dean Fleischer Camp, who co-wrote and directed the Oscar-nominated Marcel the Shell with Shoes On, the meaning of sisterhood, found family, and not sacrificing your dreams in the face of hardships are at the forefront.

Mostly similar to the animated film, the story follows a quirky young girl named Lilo (played here by newcomer Maia Kealoha) who unknowingly befriends a manic fugitive alien named Stitch that inadvertently helps mend the relationship with her sister Nani (Sydney Elizebeth Agudong). In the 23 years between films, it’s...

"There Is No Narrative To Follow": 'Lilo and Stitch' Producer Jonathan Eirich on Developing Disney's 'Space Mountain' Movie [Exclusive]
Image
Jonathan Eirich is no stranger to adapting iconic Disney properties into something bold, emotional, and unexpected. Having already produced Aladdin and now Lilo & Stitch, alongside director Dean Fleischer Camp, he's become one of the go-to names when it comes to tackling the towering expectations attached to Disney classics. But while remaking beloved animated films comes with its own mountain of pressure, Eirich knows a very different challenge lies ahead — turning a theme park ride into a movie. That’s where Space Mountain comes in. Collider’s Perri Nemiroff recently sat down with Eirich and Fleischer Camp to talk Lilo & Stitch, but when the subject of Disney's upcoming Space Mountain movie came up, Eirich offered a rare look behind the scenes of its tricky development. He told Nemiroff:

“In both cases of Aladdin and Lilo & Stitch, you sort of had these stories that you knew worked in animation, so it was trying to figure out,...

Lilo & Stitch's Rotten Tomatoes Score Revealed As First Reviews For Disney's Live-Action Remake Arrive
Image
The review embargo for Lilo & Stitch lifted earlier today, and as we first reported on Toonado.com, the glowing first social media reactions don't exactly match what critics are saying.

The consensus seems to be that the live-action remake plays it too safe, essentially serving as a shot-for-shot remake of the beloved 2002 animated classic it's based on. The characters, humour, and visuals receive plenty of praise, but many are simply questioning the necessity of another Disney movie that rehashes the same story in a different medium.

How to Train Your Dragon is likely to come under fire for the same reason, but Disney has made a lot of these movies now. Fortunately, Lilo & Stitch sounds like big improvement over Snow White.

Ultimately, reviews are unlikely to matter. Lilo & Stitch is expected to break box office records this Memorial Day weekend, and the opinions of critics rarely make...

Does Disney's Live-Action Lilo & Stitch Have A Post-Credits Scene? Here's Your Spoiler-Free Answer
Image
This article was originally published on Toonado.com.

Lilo & Stitch was once going to be released on streaming as a "Disney+ Original," but when Bob Iger returned as Disney CEO, the decision was made for it to instead debut in theaters.

Based on early box office tracking—which suggests the movie will open over Memorial Day weekend between $110 million - $130 million, more than Snow White grossed domestically during its entire run—Iger made the right decision.

While the 2002 Lilo & Stitch movie spawned various small-screen follow-ups, all signs point to Disney having a potential new theatrical franchise on its hands. That should come as welcome news to the House of Mouse, particularly as many of the studio's previous live-action adaptations have faced their fair share of challenges.

With that in mind, you're probably wondering how Lilo & Stitch sets the stage for a potential follow-up. We're not getting into spoilers yet,...

‘Lilo & Stitch’ Star Courtney B. Vance Teases Box Office Opponent ‘Mission: Impossible’: “I Don’t Think You Can Compete With Stitch, Tom”
Image
Twenty-three years after the animated film became a hit, Lilo & Stitch is back as a live-action adaptation, once again exploring the friendship between a young Hawaiian girl and the blue alien she adopts.

Though Disney’s recent live-action remakes have had varying levels of success, Lilo & Stitch is estimated to be headed for a four-day domestic debut of $120 million over Memorial Day weekend, marking one of the best showings ever for the studio’s reimaginings. It opens the same weekend as Mission: Impossible — The Final Reckoning (on course for an $80 million debut), which star Courtney B. Vance played into at the film‘s L.A. premiere on Saturday.

With wife Angela Bassett appearing alongside Tom Cruise in the latest Mission: Impossible, Vance joked to The Hollywood Reporter, “Tom, how are you gonna do bro? I don’t think you can compete with Stitch, Tom, but you’re...

Lilo & Stitch Social Media Reactions Promise Disney Fans The Best Live-Action Adaptation To Date
Image
Disney's live-action remakes have been nothing if not hit-or-miss. Some are considered improvements over their animated predecessors, and others...not so much.

Lilo & Stitch's fanbase has only grown since it was released in 2002, with merchandise featuring the adorable Experiment 626 still dominating store shelves over two decades later. Disney's marketing campaign for the movie has been fantastic, but will that translate into a great movie?

Based on the first social media reactions we first shared on Toonado.com, the answer to that question is a resounding "yes."

As you can see below, Lilo & Stitch is being hailed as Disney's best live-action remake yet, and the verdict thus far is overwhelmingly positive. Original plans called for this to be a Disney+ Original, so it's safe to say current Disney CEO Bob Iger was right to pivot to a theatrical release.

That's evident from early box office tracking suggesting a debut of at...

Lilo & Stitch's Experiment 626 Has Trashed *The New Avengers Billboard In Los Angeles
Image
Earlier this week, Marvel Studios rebranded Thunderbolts* as *The New Avengers, a clever marketing stunt that should help increase interest heading into its second weekend in theaters.

The studio has reissued the movie's posters with the updated title and, in Los Angeles, gave Thunderbolts*'s massive billboard a new look. Alas, those of you hoping to perhaps see it in person will be disappointed as it's just been hijacked by Lilo & Stitch's Experiment 626!

As you can see below, Stitch has torn his way through the New Avengers, promoting the release of his movie later this month. Disney will likely pull out all the stops to promote Lilo & Stitch from here, especially as it's tracking to make upwards of $120 million over Memorial Day weekend.

Stitch will even take a bite out of Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning's haul, despite it taking aim at a franchise best $80 million debut.

Lilo And Stitch: Disney Shares Heartwarming First Clip And New Posters As Tickets Go On Sale
Image
Walt Disney Studios has announced that tickets for the live-action Lilo & Stitch movie are now officially on sale, and we have the first full clip and a series of new posters featuring the rambunctious blue-furred alien known as "Experiment 626."

The original animated Lilo and Stitch focused on a young Hawaiian girl named Lilo Pelekai who forms a bond with an adorable extraterrestrial called Experiment 626, who was engineered to be a force of destruction. It wasn't considered one of the studio's bigger hits from a box office standpoint, but it remains a very popular entry in Disney's library, having spawned three direct-to-video sequels and a 2003 TV series.

The new movie's synopsis reads: "Lilo and Stitch tells the story of the bond formed between a lonely human girl named Lilo and a dog-like alien named Stitch, who is engineered to be a force of destruction. Pursuing aliens, social workers, and the...

Lilo & Stitch Remake Gets An Expanded Runtime As Fun New TV Spot Reveals Jumba And Pleakley
Image
Disney's live-action remakes have been far from consistent in terms of quality, but all signs point to Lilo & Stitch being more akin to The Jungle Book or Cinderella than disappointing efforts like Snow White and Pinocchio.

Based on the trailers, Lilo & Stitch will be another very faithful adaptation, but this version of the 2002 animated classic will seemingly expand the story.

Thanks to the AMC Theaters website (via Toonado.com), we now know that Lilo & Stitch will have a runtime of 1 hour and 48 minutes. That's 25% longer than the original movie's 85-minute runtime, and while it's yet to be officially confirmed, this change is what we've come to expect from these remakes.

Early box office tracking points to Lilo & Stitch grossing over $100 million over Memorial Day weekend. That means it will earn more than Snow White's entire domestic haul in just three days.

Lilo & Stitch Will Gross More In One Weekend Than Snow White Has Earned Since Opening Last Month
Image
Snow White debuted to largely negative reviews last month (it has 40% on Rotten Tomatoes). However, unlike other live-action Disney movies that managed to shrug those off, this latest effort has failed to make a noteworthy impact at the box office.

During its fourth weekend in theaters, Snow White earned only $2.8 million for a total domestic haul of $81.9 million. Worldwide, the movie hasn't even cracked $200 million, with a disappointing $181 million haul.

However, it won't take Disney long to bounce back as Deadline (via Toonado.com) reveals that early tracking suggests Lilo & Stitch will gross over $100 million over Memorial Day weekend. That's more than Snow White's entire domestic haul in just three days.

Making this feat even more impressive is the fact that Lilo & Stitch will go head-to-head with Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning. While Experiment 626 will handily beat Ethan Hunt, the movie is still eyeing a franchise-best debut,...

Stitch Beams Down Live-Action Chaos in New 'Lilo & Stitch' Image [Exclusive]
Image
This Memorial Day, Disney will welcome a familiar face to theaters for fans who grew up knowing "ohana means family." Lilo & Stitch are hitting the big screen in live-action on May 23, bringing the titular little blue alien's chaotic ways to a new format for a whole new generation. The House of Mouse has been quickly building hype for its latest remake, with a series of promos once again warping Stitch into the worlds of the studio's other iconic worlds, from Aladdin to Cinderella and, of course, The Lion King. As part of Collider's Exclusive Preview event for summer movies, we can now share another image ahead of the release that further teases the mayhem to come when Stitch is let loose.

Lilo & Stitch: Experiment 626 Takes A Bite Out Of Marvel And Star Wars On Awesome New Poster
Image
Disney's CinemaCon presentation took place yesterday afternoon and opened with a sizzle reel of Stitch causing chaos in movies like The Fantastic Four: First Steps and Thunderbolts*. Unfortunately, that hasn't been released online (and likely won't be).

However, we do have an officially released clip from Lilo & Stitch (via Toonado.com) and a suitably chaotic poster showing Experiment 626 taking a bite out of every major Disney-owned franchise. Marvel, Star Wars, Pixar, 20th Century Studios...none of them are safe from the iconic alien.

Stitch has remained incredibly popular since the original animated movie was released in 2002, and thanks to a clever, viral marketing campaign, excitement for this one is through the roof.

Plans called for it to be released as a Disney+ "Original" before Bob Iger returned as Disney CEO, and we'd say getting this movie into theaters was a smart move as it has all the makings of a huge hit.

The studio has been ramping up for its latest toon-to-live-action take ahead of its May 23 worldwide release, showing off a sliver at last summer’s D23 and a branded bit with Stitch during the Super Bowl before a trailer last month created quite the aloha moment, clocking 158 million views in its first 24 hours — the second most-viewed Disney live-action trailer of all time.

Lilo & Stitch tells the touching story of a lonely Hawaiian girl named Lilo and the fugitive alien who helps to mend her broken family. The extended clip shown today to the crowd of exhibitors features Lilo (Maia Kealoha) getting parked at a picnic table at the outdoor restaurant where her sister (Sydney Elizebeth Agudong) has to clock in for work. Along for the ride is Stitch...

Watch The Trailer: Disney’s ‘Lilo & Stitch’ Starring Soap Alums Billy Magnussen & Tia Carrere
Image
Earlier this month, Disney released the first trailer for its highly anticipated live-action reimagining of the 2002 animated classic, “Lilo & Stitch,” which is set to release exclusively in theaters on Friday, May 23, 2025.

The film follows the touching story of a lonely Hawaiian girl (Lilo) and the fugitive alien (Stitch) who helps to mend her broken family.

Within 24 hours of its release, the trailer emerged as the second most viewed Disney live-action trailer of all time with 158 million views, behind only 2019’s “The Lion King” teaser trailer.

Within an hour of release, the trailer for “Lilo & Stitch” reached No. 1 on the trending chart on X (formerly Twitter) and remained in the top 10 for several hours following. The trailer also trended on YouTube, taking the No. 1 spot following its release, and even reached No. 1 on China’s Douyin platform.

Lilo & Stitch Clip Perfectly Recreates 2002 Animated Classic By Unleashing A Suitably Chaotic Experiment 626
Image
The first trailer for Lilo & Stitch was finally released earlier this month and we now have a clip (via Toonado.com) from the long-awaited movie. Successfully capturing the spirit of the animated classic it adapts, this latest preview highlights what looks to be a pitch-perfect take on Experiment 626.

Disney's live-action remakes typically divide opinions, something we've seen as recently as yesterday when Snow White hit Rotten Tomatoes as the worst-reviewed of those to date.

Stitch has remained incredibly popular since the original animated movie was released in 2002 and, thanks to a clever marketing campaign, excitement for this one is through the roof. That includes some new posters which once again insert Lilo & Stitch's title character into a variety of classic features.

Last October, we caught up with Stitch's creator and voice actor Chris Sanders about The Wild Robot and asked for his thoughts on Stitch's enduring popularity.

"Yeah, he...

‘Lilo & Stitch’ Becomes Disney’s Second Most Viewed Live-Action Trailer With 158M
Image
The box office is horribly sluggish but there is a silver lining in summer, evident in Disney’s live-action take of 2002 animation toon Lilo & Stitch which opens on May 23. How’s that? The 24-hour traffic for the trailer that dropped this week clocked 158M views, making it the second most viewed Disney live-action trailer of all time, behind only 2019’s The Lion King teaser trailer.

Within an hour of release, Lilo & Stitch reached the No. 1 spot for trending on Twitter/X and remained in the top 10 for the hours following. The trailer also trended on YouTube, taking the No. 1 spot following release and even reached No. 1 on China’s Douyin platform.

A small glimpse of the movie was revealed at Disney’s D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event last August. Then, during this year’s Super Bowl game, a spot featuring Stitch “crashing” the field generated 173.1M views in 24 hours,...

Lilo & Stitch First Trailer Promises To Do Right By Experiment 626 And The 2002 Animated Classic
Image
After several posters and teasers lampooning other Disney movies and even a memorable Super Bowl pitch invasion, the first Lilo & Stitch trailer has finally arrived (via Toonado.com).

The highly anticipated movie is a live-action reimagining of Disney's 2002 animated classic, and this sneak peek points to a remake that most definitely does the original feature justice.

While it will seemingly stick pretty close to what we saw in the original Lilo & Stitch, this doesn't look like a shot-for-shot remake and actually throws in a few new moments and some very funny gags. Disney's live-action remakes have often drawn mixed reviews but the vast majority have been box office hits and well-received by fans.

Stitch's popularity has only increased over the past two decades and now feels like the right time to release a movie featuring a character who remains one of the House of Mouse's biggest merchandise sellers.

‘Lilo & Stitch’ Trailer: Family Means Nobody Gets Left Behind
Image
Disney’s Lilo & Stitch trailer shows the weird creature drinking a lava lamp, surfing, posing as a dog, and generally wreaking havoc on his new human best friend’s life. The two-minute trailer also includes the animated film’s most famous line, “Ohana means family. Family means nobody gets left behind or forgotten.”

The live-action adaptation of Disney’s 2002 animated blockbuster stars Sydney Elizebeth Agudong, Maia Kealoha, Billy Magnussen, Tia Carrere, Hannah Waddingham, Courtney B. Vance, and Zach Galifianakis. Chris Sanders returns to voice Stitch.

“Lilo & Stitch is the wildly funny and touching story of a lonely Hawaiian girl and the fugitive alien who helps to mend her broken family,” reads Disney’s super short description.

Disney’s ‘Lilo & Stitch’ Trailer: New Teaser Shows Stitch Causing Live-Action Chaos
Image
Updated, March 12: Disney’s live-action Lilo & Stitch approaches, with chaos stemming from the blue creature and the young Hawaiian girl starting in theaters Memorial Day weekend.

“We have apprehended a dangerous experiment,” a commanding voice starts off the official trailer for the film. “Where is he?”

Subordinates answering to their leader in the command center of a spaceship report that “he escaped” after he found the police cruisers and “uh, took the red one.”

As Stitch cackles in the machine and enters the Earth’s atmosphere, Maia Kealoha’s Lilo spots his space ship from her home, thinking it’s a shooting star.

“I wish for a friend,” she says as the green glowing projectile hurtles toward the beaches of Hawaii, cutting to a sequence of Lilo getting pushed down during a hula lesson. “Like a best friend.”

‘Lilo & Stitch’ Live-Action Remake Makes Splash With Full Trailer
Image
Disney is ready to dive in with the full trailer for its live-action remake of Lilo & Stitch.

Director Dean Fleischer Camp’s new version of the 2002 animated movie is set to hit theaters May 23. Its stars include Maia Kealoha as Lilo, Sydney Elizebeth Agudong as Nani, and Kaipot Dudoit as David Kawena. Rounding out the cast are Zach Galifianakis, Billy Magnussen, Courtney B. Vance and Hannah Waddingham, alongside original voice stars Chris Sanders, Tia Carrere, Amy Hill and Jason Scott Lee.

A previous Lilo & Stitch trailer showed the titular blue alien causing no shortage of chaos at the beach. The 2002 feature centers on a Hawaii-based girl named Lilo who adopts a dog that turns out to be a genetically engineered extraterrestrial being with an unfortunate purpose.

“Sometimes family isn’t perfect,” Kealoha tells Stitch in the new trailer. “That doesn’t mean they aren’t good.”

Lilo & Stitch Super Bowl Spot and More Promos
Image
The Walt Disney Studios continued the effective marketing campaign for the new live-action family adventure Lilo & Stitch during the Super Bowl. You can now watch the Big Game spot and the previous two teasers online.

The marketing takes a page from how the original animated film was promoted. For that campaign, Stitch invaded other Disney properties such as The Little Mermaid (1989), Beauty and the Beast (1991), Aladdin (1992) and The Lion King (1994). This time he’s running loose at the Super Bowl, having some more fun with The Lion King and more.

A live-action reimagining of Disney’s 2002 animated classic, Lilo & Stitch is the wildly funny and touching story of a lonely Hawaiian girl and the fugitive alien who helps to mend her broken family.

Lilo & Stitch: Experiment 626 Invades The Super Bowl In Hilarious "Big Game" TV Spot And Poster
Image
The hope was that yesterday evening's Super Bowl might finally bring us the first Lilo & Stitch trailer. Well, while there's still no sign of footage from the movie itself, we do have a fun new "Big Game" TV spot featuring Experiment 626 on the loose at the Super Bowl.

Disney appears to be having a blast marketing its next live-action remake, with previous posters and teasers showing Experiment 626 poking fun at Moana 2, Mufasa: The Lion King, and even laying waste to the House of Mouse's iconic castle.

In this "Big Game" preview, Stitch causes chaos at the Super Bowl as only he can. Like the poster that joins in, the TV spot is pretty hilarious. However, a trailer offering a better idea of what's to come in this reimagining of the animated 2002 classic does now feel overdue.

It's been more than two decades since Lilo & Stitch was released, but...

‘Lilo & Stitch’ New Trailer: Disney’s Cuddly Alien Takes Over the Super Bowl Field in Cute Spot
Image
Another teaser trailer for the live-action remake of “Lilo & Stitch” has been released, with the feral, blue extraterrestrial taking over the football field during the Super Bowl. The brief spot aired early in the game and made it seem initially like there was something wrong with the broadcast, or an unauthorized person accidentally went onto the field.

The remake sees Maia Kealoha star as Lilo Pelekai, while Sydney Agudong plays her older sister, Nani. Stitch is voiced once again by Chris Sanders, returning from the original film. Zach Galifianakis is Stitch’s creator, Dr. Jumba Jookiba, while Billy Magnussen plays Agent Pleakley, who’s sent to accompany the wily doctor. Tia Carrere, the original voice of Nani, will also be in the remake as Mrs. Kekoa, along with Courtney B. Vance as a social worker. The cast also includes Amy Hill and Jason Scott Lee, both returning after being...

Lilo & Stitch Poster Sees Experiment 626 Welcome Us To 2025 In A Typically Chaotic Fashion
Image
2025 is finally here and so is a fun new poster for Lilo & Stitch (via Toonado.com). Disney has been having a blast promoting this live-action take on Experiment 626 and, after recently paying homage to the studio's other recent releases, it's time for the loveable alien to take centre stage and celebrate the New Year.

Of course, he does so by taking a bite out of what appears to be New York's iconic Times Square Ball.

We're still waiting on a full trailer for Lilo & Stitch which offers a better idea of what to expect from the movie itself. There have been some fun teasers showcasing what looks to be a pitch-perfect take on the title character but seeing the rest of the cast - and whether this story differs from the cartoon or is another shot-for-shot remake - will be welcomed by fans.

It's been more than two...

Lilo & Stitch Teaser And Poster Pay Homage To Mufasa: The Lion King In Hilariously Adorable Fashion
Image
Disney seems to be having a lot of fun marketing next year's live-action Lilo & Stitch movie; after Experiment 626 previously laid waste to the Disney (sand)castle, a new teaser parodies The Lion King ahead of Mufasa's release in theaters this weekend.

The latest shows Rafiki holding Stitch to the sky, Simba-style and boasts a fun new tagline: "Destined For Destruction." Needless to say, we wouldn't expect the shaman of the Pride Lands to show up in Hawaii!

These latest sneak peeks come after a poster tipped its hat to Moana 2. Snow White is surely up next seeing as that releases in theaters next year, though we are eager for a proper trailer showing what's to come in Lilo & Stitch.

We recently spoke to Stitch's creator and voice actor Chris Sanders about The Wild Robot and asked for his thoughts on Stitch's continued increase in popularity.

Lilo & Stitch: New Poster For Live-Action Remake Features A Surprise Connection To Disney's Moana
Image
Shortly after Disney+ launched, it became the norm for movies to premiere on the service. Made specifically for streaming, these titles ranged from original stories (which have since taken a backseat given what a tough sell they typically are in theaters) to remakes of Disney Animation classics.

Among those are the likes of Lady and the Tramp and Pinocchio., and there was a time when Lilo & Stitch was going to join them. Instead, it's one of several titles to make the shift from streaming to theaters in recent years.

With Moana 2 now playing, Walt Disney Studios has released another poster for the live-action Lilo & Stitch. What's that sequel got to do with it? Well, on this one-sheet, Stitch has encountered a Kakamora coconut-like pirate, making short work of the pint-sized warrior from 2016's Moana.

While we don't think this is necessarily indicative of what they'll look like in the...

Lilo & Stitch: New Teaser Trailer For Upcoming Live-Action Remake Finally Unleashes Experiment 626
Image
Disney's track record with live-action adaptations has been spotty at best. Some have exceeded expectations, while others have either disappointed fans or completely missed the point of what the original animated movies set out to do.

In the case of Lilo & Stitch, everything we've seen from the movie so far has been exactly what fans of Experiment 626 were hoping for. Now, a 30-second teaser trailer - for what was once a Disney+ exclusive - has been released which and the adorable Stitch unleashes chaos on a beach in Hawaii.

This sneak peek will almost certainly play in theaters before Moana 2 this weekend, and a full-length trailer may drop in time for Mufasa: The Lion King. Bizarrely, Disney still hasn't released the Snow White trailer despite the fact it leaked in HD quality over the weekend (it hasn't even been taken down as we write this).

More than two decades...
