A bloodied Joe Goldberg singing Taylor Swift? Heck, why not? On Wednesday, Penn Badgley shared a video of himself (with his chin covered in fake blood) singing to Swift’s song with Bon Iver, “Exile,” alongside his You castmates, Anna Camp and Charlotte Ritchie, and his podcast partners.
Badgley and the crew tried their best to emulate the harmonies of Swift and Justin Vernon, as they sang the back-and-forth bridge, “All this time/I never learned to read your mind (never learned to read my mind)/I couldn’t turn...

She played the titular mom on How I Met Your Mother, but is Cristin Milioti a parent in real life?
That’s a question on the minds of many fans these days, thanks to a mysterious new photo making the rounds on social media.
The image — which was posted by the indie rock band Bon Iver — shows Cristin standing alongside the band’s lead singer, Justin Vernon, who is holding a baby.
View this post on Instagram
A post shared by Bon Iver (@boniver)
For obvious reasons, the family portrait-style pic has led to rumors that Cristin and Justin have welcomed a child together.
Did Cristin Milioti welcome a child with Justin Vernon?
As it turns out, the image is merely a preview of the photo book that accompanies the band’s most recent album, Sable, fABLE.
So no, Cristin does not have a child by Justin.

After a slew of summery singles and a cheeky, highly entertaining rollout featuring homages to early 2000s paparazzi photos, Haim have officially announced their new album. I Quit arrives June 20 via Columbia Records.
To accompany the album announcement, the L.A. sister trio dropped the new single “Down to Be Wrong.” It’s a slow-burning rocker of supreme self-preservation in the wake of heartbreak — one that quietly simmers in the verses, and builds to a cathartic release of reflections. “Red lights are up ahead,” Danielle Haim sings. “But I keep walking.

A new stage musical adaptation of the popular 1999 film 10 Things I Hate About You is being developed for Broadway, with Carly Rae Jepsen and Ethan Gruska collaborating on the score and Lena Dunham and Jessica Huang at work on the book.
Two-time Tony winners Christopher Wheeldon will handle direction and choreography with Tom Kitt (Next To Normal) on music supervision, arrangements, and orchestrations. Mike Bosner will produce.
10 Things I Hate About You is a retelling of William Shakespeare’s 1594 play The Taming of the Shrew, and the film launched the careers of Heath Ledger, Julia Stiles, and Joseph Gordon-Levitt, showcasing a breakout performance by Alison Janney. The film became a generational touchstone with its keen insight into 1990s teen life as seen in a Seattle suburb.
Casting and a production timeline for the musical was not announced.
Jepsen launched a major music career with her 2012 hit “Call Me Maybe.

Taylor Swift was inspired by Justin Vernon and Aaron Dessner’s work for Big Red Machine when she made Folklore. In an interview with Apple Music, the Bon Iver frontman shared the story of how he and Dessner came to work with Swift on the pandemic era-defining album.
“All the glory goes to Taylor for hearing, as a songwriter, what music she wants to make,” Vernon said of Folklore. “But those songs are Big Red Machine demos.”

Bon Iver has released his fifth studio album, Sable, fABLE.
Produced by Bon Iver mastermind Justin Vernon along with Jim-e Stack, Sable, fABLE is a continuation of the three-song Sable EP that arrived last October as a prologue of sorts. Now, the project’s 12 tracks are available in their entirety, showcasing Vernon’s enduring knack for blending visceral songcraft with inventive production.
Standout tracks like the single “Everything Is Peaceful Love” and the Dijon and Flock of Dimes-featuring “Day One” are exemplary of that sound, pairing soulful, melodic vocals with deconstructed pop arrangements, lush with beeps, boops, samples, and tasteful textural touches, like the the pedal steel on the former track.
Other highlights include the “If Only I Could Wait” with Danielle Haim, as well as the Sable portion of the album, which explores an emotional arc “from accepting anxiety to accepting guilt to accepting hope.”

Over the last two decades, Bon Iver’s Justin Vernon has become a stalwart of the indie music scene. Since the release of his revered 2007 debut For Emma, Forever Ago – a cult-classic isolation record composed by a heartbroken Vernon in a cabin in the Wisconsin woods – the musician has transformed himself time and time again. Yet, even after 2017’s distorted folktronica revelation 22, A Million saw Vernon diverting from the gentle-plucked delicateness listeners had come to expect from him, it still captured him in the throes of spiritual crisis. The lyrical...

Taylor Swift’s Folklore collaboration “Exile” never made it onto the fixed setlist for the Eras tour, but on the rare occasions that she selected the record as a surprise song, her stadium audiences filled in for Bon Iver, who never got a chance to perform it with her during the extensive run of live shows. We have seen the next winner of American Idol — we just don't know who it is yet.
Season 23 of ABC singing competition wrapped up the audition phase on Sunday night as judges Carrie Underwood, Lionel Richie, and Luke Bryan traveled to New York, Los Angeles, and Nashville to find music's next superstar. The two-hour episode aired Sunday, March 30 (8 p.m. Et/Pt) with Ryan Seacrest hosting.
Brooklyn native JMarie was the first contestant to "slay" with her saucy rendition of Carrie's own "Before He Cheats," breathing new life into what she called a "hood anthem." The Haitian-born soul singer had Idol's newest judge smiling ear-to-ear as she riffed around the country original. "I was a little worried that people would sing my songs to me," Carrie said. "But you made it your own. I forgot about myself ever having sung that song. It was like I had heard it for the first time.

New music drops every Friday. Here are some of the noteworthy awards contenders that debuted on or around March 21, 2025.
Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco, I Said I Love You First
Real-life lovebirds Gomez and Blanco have joined forces on their first collaborative album, though the initial reviews are somewhat mixed. Martina Rebecca Inchingolo (Associated Press) writes that the artists "avoid cliché" on an "amusing pop album." And Robin Murray (Clash) calls it "a moving document of a relationship." But Alexis Petridis (The Guardian) thinks the music is "strangely anonymous for such a personal project." Still, the romantic narrative behind the couple's literal labor of love is compelling, and though Gomez has a limited Grammy track record — just one nom as a lead artist, Best Latin Pop Album for Revelación — Blanco has been a perennial nominee. Bon Iver has returned with two new singles, “Walk Home” and the Danielle Haim-featuring duet, “If Only I Could.”
Both songs come from Justin Vernon’s upcoming album, Sable, fABLE (due on April 11th), and are evocative of the album’s dualistic treatment of love, with “Walk Home” embodying a sensual, loving vibe, and “If Only I Could” describing seeds of doubt in a relationship.
In a statement, Vernon explained, “For the second look into fABLE, it couldn’t be a single; it had to be a double. First, ‘Walk Home’ is a romp where you can’t wait to pull your clothes off fast enough and jump inside bed with your one true lover. And then — the two of singles — ‘If Only I Could Wait.’ A duet. A bilateral crying question. How long can the two of us hang on to each other?”

It’s Valentine’s Day, and Bon Iver is celebrating with the release of “Everything Is Peaceful Love,” a new single from his upcoming album Sable, fABLE.

Bon Iver has announced their highly anticipated fifth studio album, Sable, fABLE, over five years after I,I was released in 2019. Bon Iver is back to announce his long-awaited fifth album, Sable, fABLE, out April 11th via Jagjaguwar.
Billed as Bon Iver’s “epilogue,” Sable, fABLE follows Justin Vernon’s 2024 EP Sable, which served as his first new project in five years. If you thought Brat Summer would be confined by something as fickle as the tilting of the Earth’s axis away from the Sun, you’d be mistaken — Brat Summer defies seasons. Charli Xcx is currently on a solo tour following her co-headlining Sweat Tour with Troye Sivan, and now her critically acclaimed remix album, Brat And It’s Completely Different But Also Still Brat is being re-released on vinyl.

The worst of Covid is now well behind us, but a lingering alienation, along with desperation for physical connection, can still be felt everywhere. FKA twigs invented her own word for the feeling: “eusexua.” The surrealist video for the song depicts the singer’s inner escape from corporate drudgery to a flesh-on-flesh fantasia. Pointedly, Twigs is less interested in traditional love than bodily transcendence.
Touch seems more profound than ever to people in the wake of the pandemic. From the likes of Kevin Abstract and Lil Nas X’s unapologetically queer (and horny) “Tennessee,” Sabrina Carpenter luring Barry Keoghan into a jailhouse romance in “Please Please Please,” and Billie Eilish batting her wide-as-pie eyes at the unattainably straight Charli Xcx in “Guess,” it’s clear that we’re all longing for physical connection.

Taylor Swift has such a grand discography that her amazing covers are sometimes overlooked, but fans know she is no stranger to celebrating other artists. The Eras Tour recently ended after 21 months, and the tour was a celebration of Swift’s storied career that has spanned over two decades. Throughout her career, the singer has collaborated with plenty of artists such as Post Malone, Ed Sheeran, and Bon Iver. However, she has also performed her fair share of cover songs.
A lot of Swift’s cover performances came when she was still a rising country star in her early career. Covers were a way for her to pay tribute to other artists while still showcasing her unique musicality. She put her own spin on a variety of genres, even some that seemed unexpected like hip-hop and rock. Covers are always a nice surprise for the audience, and some of Swift...

The Twilight Saga is a pop culture phenomenon, to say the least, and it has come back into the spotlight with talks of a remake. Slated to be an animated television series on Netflix, it will lean into Stephanie Meyer's latest release, Midnight Sun, which is Twilight's events from Edward's perspective. While the remake is highly anticipated, The Twilight Saga movies remain iconic in how they adapted one of the world's most iconic love triangles.
Bella and Edward's love story quickly gained a huge fanbase from the novels already, but the release of Twilight in 2008 gave faces to these captivating characters. Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson were the perfect Bella and Edward, and Taylor Lautner's Jacob sent their perfect romance careening with the start of a love triangle. After Twilight came four more movies, each of which had its high and low points while also nailing many aspects...

The Twilight Saga is a cultural phenomenon that never goes out of the news, but the upcoming Twilight remake, which will take the form of a television show, has stirred up the fandom considerably. While many would think that a modern classic is a classic for a reason, others are excited to see how the book would fare in a modern-day remake for TV. There would be considerable changes made both to the book as well as the movie depictions, but it would be best if some things remained untouched.
The Twilight Saga movies have got their fair share of flak in the past and present, but they got plenty of things right. While the novels had already gained a huge fanbase, the movies cemented Twilight's place in the upper echelons of pop culture. The movies got a lot right about the world of Edward and Bella, which fans...

Bruce Springsteen will headline Kamala Harris and Barack Obama’s joint rally in Atlanta on Thursday, October 24th, and will join Obama once again at a concert event for Harris’ campaign in Philadelphia on Monday, October 28th.
The pair of rally performances will kick off a string of Harris campaign concerts taking place in swing states like Georgia and Pennsylvania ahead of the election on November 5th. More concerts will be announced in the next few days.
While Springsteen just claimed that he avoids politics at his own concerts, the singer and songwriter is a longtime supporter of the Democratic party, and he previously played rallies for Obama’s campaign. Springsteen endorsed Harris for president earlier this month in a video (aptly filmed at a New Jersey diner), blasting Trump and claiming that he is the “most dangerous candidate for president in my lifetime.”

At a time when mystique can be in short supply in pop, leave it to Justin Vernon to revert to the age-old tradition of being a little more mysterious. Start with Sable, the new record by his band Bon Iver, their first new release in five years. Other than Beyoncé’s gap from Lemonade to Renaissance, how many major acts take that long between records?
Then, notice that Sable is an EP consisting of only three tunes. We’ve lately seen a trend toward relatively compact 10-or-so-song albums (Dua Lipa,...

Charli Xcx and Kesha have dropped a surprise new remix of the Brat bonus track “Spring Breakers.” Stream the new version of the song below.
Even before the release of Brat in June, a truck displaying “Kesha” on top of a very specific green background seemed to tease that the pop star would feature on the new Charli release. Despite the hint, Kesha was nowhere to be found on the Brat tracklist, nor was she on the deluxe version of the album, Brat and it’s the same but there’s three more songs so it’s not, or the recently released remix project Brat and it’s completely different but also still brat.

R.E.M. singer Michael Stipe has mostly avoided the spotlight in recent years, but Vice President Kamala Harris’ presidential campaign has temporarily changed that. On Thursday night (October 10th), he performed at his second rally in as many weeks, this time at R.E.M.’s former home base of Athens, Georgia.
During his four-song set, Stipe was backed by Now It’s Overhead’s Andy LeMaster and Mercyland’s David Barbe. After kicking it off by performing R.E.M.’s 1985 song “Wendell Gee” for the first time in 39 years, Stipe played his solo track “Your Capricious Soul,” his Big Red Machine collaboration “No Time for Love Like Now,” and revisited “Driver 8.”

Last Friday, Stipe teamed up with Jason Isbell at a rally in Pittsburgh, during which he broke out “Driver 8” for the first time since 2008. During the brief set,...

In an age when remix packages often include little more than sped-up and slowed-down versions of songs tailor-made for TikTok, Charli Xcx’s Brat and It’s Completely Different but Also Still Brat takes a more holistic approach. The album serves as an extension of Charli’s project as an artist, and rather than commission a bunch of DJs to reinterpret the songs, they’re produced chiefly by Brat’s original creators.
