Sideshow Brings Frankenstein'S Monster To Life: "First brought to life by the words of Mary Shelley, the creation known as Frankenstein’s Monster has taken on many forms throughout popular culture. Inspired by the iconic literary character and his visual legacy across the centuries, the Frankenstein’s Monster Statue by Sideshow honors the creature’s horror roots and tragic nature with a new, original design.
This stunningly detailed, fully sculpted piece shows the hulking figure cloaked in the pelt of a black bear and clad in patchwork pants. Two large electrodes emerge from his back and silver staples hold his reanimated flesh together. He is painted with a cadaverous mixture of yellows and reds, emphasizing how Frankenstein’s creation straddles the line between life and death.

The Kill Room Combines Jackson and Thurman, art, crime, and cinematic brilliance. In Nicol Paone’s crime caper, the worlds of fine art and the criminal underground come together.
Outsiders who aren’t art clients or dealers frequently perceive the art world as quirky, arrogant, and enigmatic. Recent films have highlighted the odd culture of art.
Another planned film about the art world, Nicol Paone’s dark comedic thriller The Kill Room, will be added to this collection. Shout has released a new trailer for the film! Studios.
The Kill Room | Official Trailer
The Kill Room trailer shows gallery owner Patrice Capullo (Thurman) in a difficult period, which allows Gordon Davis (Jackson) to rush in with a promise to give her a percentage if she helps his criminal organization launder money through purchasing fake artworks.
However, the paintings created by hitman Reggie Pitt (Manganiello) grew popular, transforming the criminal into an unintentional celebrity artist.

The art world is a cutthroat and judgemental arena. You’re the cat’s pajamas one day, but you’re old news if you take too long to deliver your next masterpiece. Surrounded by snobbery, bitter wine, and diamond-encrusted vultures waiting to pick your talented bones clean, artists endure a lot to remain relevant, and some would even kill for the chance to keep their spot in the public eye. In today’s The Kill Room trailer, a hitman, his boss, and an art dealer concoct a money laundering scheme that accidentally turns an assassin into an overnight avant-garde sensation.
Nicol Paone directs from a script by Jonathan Jacobson, with Uma Thurman, Samuel L. Jackson, and Joe Manganiello leading the cast, with Maya Hawke, Mike Doyle, Debi Mazar, Matthew Maher, Marianne Rendón, Gionna Daddio, Jennifer Kim, Amy Keum, Brandon Curry, and more.

Writer/Director Olivia West Lloyd’s feature debut, Somewhere Quiet, picks up after a Final Girl has survived her horror story to examine the psychological toll of surviving. Emphasis on psychological; Somewhere Quiet isn’t interested in the inciting horror event itself but rather in interrogating the complexities that survival brings. It results in a self-assured, genre-bending debut that plunges its heroine into a paranoid nightmare where reality is never what it seems.
We meet Meg (Jennifer Kim) amidst a harrowing escape, bloodied and wandering the street alone. Her husband Scott (Kentucker Audley) comes from an affluent family, and kidnappers held Meg captive at ransom for months until she managed to escape. Readjusting to everyday life isn’t easy for Meg, so Scott suggests a quiet weekend away at his family’s seaside estate. Plans for relaxation and recovery go awry when Scott’s cousin Madeline (Marin Ireland) arrives unannounced.

HBO/HBO Max chief content officer Casey Bloys sent a memo to employees this afternoon, explaining the decision by Warner Bros. Discovery to layoff 70 employees, or 14 of his workforce, as the company restructures. The move, announced the morning, comes as Warner Bros. Discovery prepares to merge HBO Max and Discovery+ into one streamer — with the decision made to reduce redundancies in unscripted programming. But a changing business model also led to cuts in scripted children’s and family fare, casting, international and acquisitions.
“Unfortunately, the environment in which we operate is changing rapidly, and it is up to us to continue to refine our model to chart a course for long term success,” he wrote in the memo. “As you heard from David Zaslav during our last earnings call, producing top-tier HBO/Max scripted content is crucial to Wbd’s future. Part of this process involves an honest assessment of what we need moving forward.

After weeks of speculation, Warner Bros. Discovery is ready to reveal some of the changes that will take place at HBO Max, in advance of next year’s anticipated combination of the HBO Max and Discovery+ streaming services. And as expected, HBO Max will downsize its reality programming department.
As part of the changes, around 14 of the staff under the oversight of HBO/HBO Max chief content officer Casey Bloys will be reduced. That translates to around 70 employees (from across HBO and HBO Max) who will be laid off in this restructure.
As part of the changes, Sarah Aubrey, the current head of original content at HBO Max, will now focus her oversight on the Max Originals drama slate. In addition, she will now also work in international programming strategy alongside the Warner Bros. Discovery International team, led by Gerhard Zeiler. Overall, 14 of staff — about 70 people — are being laid off Monday, the vast majority of them on the Max side. That includes in Max Non-Fiction Originals, International, Acquisitions, Casting and previously reported Live-Action Family Originals, which are all being either scaled back significantly or essentially eliminated, leading to the departure of the bulk of the the staffs, led by Jennifer O’Connell EVP, Non-Fiction & Live-Action Family Originals for HBO Max; Jennifer Kim, SVP, International Originals for HBO Max; Michael Quigley, EVP of Content Acquisitions at HBO Max; and Linda Lowy, EVP Casting for WarnerMedia’s HBO Max, TNT, TBS and truTV.

Rome’s growing Mia market, dedicated to international TV series, feature films and documentaries, is on track to take place as a mostly in-person Oct. 13-17 event, for which a robust clutch of top U.S. and European execs are expected to make the trek.
“We are getting a great response: lots of confirmations and great willingness to attend,” said Mia director Lucia Milazzotto (pictured), adding that pulling off last year’s market in the Eternal City as a partly physical event “when the pandemic situation was a lot worse” has “certainly paid off” in terms of getting people to attend this year.
Despite concerns about the Delta variant, certified vaccinations are expected to ensure a measure of safety for the event in October.

Netflix dropped the trailer for the Sandra Oh-led series “The Chair” on Wednesday, which is “Game of Thrones” showrunners Dan Weiss and David Benioff’s first scripted show at the streaming service. And though this series, created and showrun by Amanda Peet, is nothing like “GoT” on the surface, it seems Oh’s character, the first woman chair of her university’s English department, will be facing a “serious reputational matter” — not unlike several powerful women of Westeros did before her.
In the trailer for “The Chair,” which you can view here and via the video above, Oh’s Dr. Ji-Yoon Kim is left handling a scandal involving her friend and colleague Professor Bill Dobson (played by Jay Duplass), whom she appears to have feelings for, while navigating her new role as the chair of the English department at the prestigious Pembroke University. "You don't think she knows what I'm up to?" Momentum Pictures has debuted an official trailer for an indie dark comedy + psychological thriller titled Black Bear, the latest from film from the mind of filmmaker Lawrence Michael Levine. This premiered at the Sundance Film Festival earlier this year, and has also been playing on the international festival circuit since then. A filmmaker at a creative impasse seeks solace from her tumultuous past at a rural retreat, only to find that the woods summon her inner demons in intense and surprising ways. Aubrey Plaza stars as the filmmaker, named Allison, pulling everyone "into a calculated game of desire, manipulation, and jealousy." Also with Christopher Abbott, Sarah Gadon, Alexander Koch, Paola Lázaro, Lindsay Burdge, and Jennifer Kim. This looks like a very intelligent, complex, even philosophical film that has much more going on within than it seems at first glance. Tricky stuff here.

There isn’t anything else even close to She Dies Tomorrow out there. That sort of comment is bandied about in independent cinema a lot, especially when something is a little bit unique. This week’s high profile indie in She Dies Tomorrow, however, is the real deal. Not only is the premise wholly singular and unlike anything you’ve seen before, its execution is just as one of a kind. Filmmaker Amy Seimetz has absolutely knocked this one out of the park, crafting a genre-defying flick that will leave you equal parts confused, shaken, and blown away. It’s kind of a must-see, for that alone. The film is a psychological horror/thriller/comedy/drama (for real), with a hell of a central concept. What if you just got the notion that you were about to die? For Amy (Kate Lyn Sheil), that’s just what happens. She wakes...

"I just have this feeling I'm going to die tomorrow." Neon has released the first official trailer for She Dies Tomorrow, a peculiar psychological thriller meets dark comedy starring Kate Lyn Sheil. The film is both written and directed by indie actress Amy Seimetz, her second feature following Sun Don't Shine in 2012. Kate plays Amy, who thinks she's dying tomorrow... and it's contagious. It also stars Jane Adams, Josh Lucas, Chris Messina, Michelle Rodriguez, Katie Aselton, Tunde Adebimpe, Jennifer Kim, Kentucker Audley, and Madison Calderon. Grey's Anatomy may have wrapped up its sixteenth season early, but spin-off series Station 19 is still chugging along.
The two shows, however, share a universe, meaning that Grey's Anatomy characters work with people from Station 19, and vice-versa.
ABC has dropped a new trailer for Station 19 Season 3 Episode 15, and it shows an armed woman causing trouble after an incident.
In a twist of fate, Jackson Avery (Jesse Williams) is in the ambulance trying to operate on a patient, and Ben (Jason George) is also present.
As the clip plays out, gunshots ring out at the conclusion, while Bailey is seen in Grey Sloan Memorial realizing that something is amiss.
Perhaps it's because the ambulance doesn't show up when it should.
If you watch Grey's Anatomy online, you know Bailey has suffered a lot of heartache of late, so killing off her husband would be cruel.
Heck, even killing Jackson would be cruel.

Neon has acquired the worldwide rights to Amy Seimetz’s apocalyptic thriller, “She Dies Tomorrow,” which had been set to premiere at the SXSW Film Festival before the event was canceled
The film stars Seimetz’s frequent collaborator Kate Lyn Sheil as a woman ravaged by the notion that she is going to die tomorrow, which sends her down a dizzying emotional spiral. When her skeptical friend, played by Jane Adams, discovers the feeling of imminent death is contagious, they both begin bizarre journeys through what might be the last day of their lives.
“She Dies Tomorrow” is Seimetz’ second feature film as a writer-director following “Sun Don’t Shine,” which starred Sheil and premiered at the 2012 SXSW Film Festival. It was nominated for two Gotham Awards. In 2015, Seimetz co-created and executive produced the Starz series “The Girlfriend Experience,” which featured Sheil in three episodes.

In any other time and in any other place, She Dies Tomorrow would be a lucid and unsettling film. Screened in the height of a global pandemic, it is difficult to watch without immediately emphasizing the uncertainty, as well as the certainty, that radiates from and beyond the frame. The characters know they’re going to die, and once they know that, it feels inevitable. Amy Seimetz’s haunting and puzzling sophomore feature beings with a verbally violent break-up and quickly morphs into a film about contagion and paranoia. It also briefly veers into absurd comedy when things come to a head at a birthday party where everyone wishes after the fact they could have engaged in social distancing.
Kate Lyn Sheil stars as Amy, a recovering alcoholic reeling from her breakup with Craig (Kentucker Audley), who tells her “it’s over” and that “there is no tomorrow.” Alone in...

While the 2020 SXSW Film Festival has been canceled due to the coronavirus, IndieWire is covering select titles from this year’s edition.
Amy Seimetz has directed two movies over the past decade (as well as “The Girlfriend Experience” for Starz), but few recent American directors have demonstrated a greater singularity of vision. With her 2011 debut “Sun Don’t Shine,” Seimetz hovered in the confines of lovers on the lam with the world collapsing around them, watching as they wrestled with the queasy uncertainty of accepting that inevitability and running from it at the same time. “She Dies Tomorrow” expands that notion into Envisioning a disease where the afflicted believe they’ll die by morning, the movie taps into a timeless anxiety with hilarious and disquieting results, often delivered in the same dose.

Two funny episodes in a row? Is that allowed?
That's debatable, but a fun time was had when the Osp team threw in with two reformed British criminals and a former North Korean spy on NCIS: Los Angeles Season 11 Episode 6.
When the Brits are played by well-known scenery chewers Steve Valentine and Vinnie Jones, you know you'll have to listen closely if you're going to keep up.
Like much of British humor, it was all about the dialogue, some of which doesn't translate well into American English.
No wonder Sam and Callen were grousing when Deeks and Fatima got into the act.
I enjoyed that myself. Fatima had a flawless accent, but Deeks, as always when he's in character, exaggerated his accent.
The episode read "caper" right from the very beginning, when Frankie and associates robbed a criminal of his gold bars, then sent those to California in a...
