Sam Raimi’s Oz the Great and Powerful finally arrives in theatres today, bringing to the multiplex one of the year’s first big-budgeted blockbusters, following the release of Jack the Giant Slayer last week.
Joe has seen the film already – you can read our review here – and very much recommends it. So if you’re heading out to the cinema this weekend, Oz the Great and Powerful looks to be a very safe bet. Raimi is certainly a master of the blockbuster, and I’m looking forward to seeing what he’s done with such a great cast.
As the film heads into theatres, we’ve got a new clip to share, courtesy of MSN, in which we get to see Oz and Finley discovering China Girl, voiced by the young Joey King.

Sam Raimi’s anticipated Oz the Great and Powerful is just a month and a half away from hitting the big screen, and it’s one we’ve been looking forward to for a long time now.

One of the best trailers we’ve seen all year has to be Sam Raimi’s Oz: The Great and Powerful. With Raimi behind the camera, we always knew the film would be impressive, but the first teaser we saw over the summer blew everyone away.
Promising to be one of the biggest blockbusters of next year, things have been fairly quiet on the Oz front since we saw that first trailer, but now Yahoo Movies have debuted the first of three sections in a great new set of artwork for the film.
