Update: Texas medical examiners said Friday that 30-year-old Sara Lee’s death was a suicide. The 30-year-old ingested a fatal combination of alcohol and drugs.
Lee died last October in her San Antonio, Texas home. The medical examiners said she had a mixture of amphetamines, doxylamine and alcohol in her system, a spokesperson for the Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office said.
Lee won a one-year, $250,000 WWE contract in the “Tough Enough”competition’s sixth season.
Earlier: Sara Lee, winner of Season 6 of the WWE’s reality series Tough Enough, died today at age 30, her mother said. No cause was given.
“It is with heavy hearts we wanted to share that our Sara Weston has gone to be with Jesus,” Terri Lee wrote on social media. “We are all in shock and arrangements are not complete. We ask that you respectfully let our family mourn.”

WWE superstar Alexa Bliss is reminiscing about her days as a younger wrestling star on the come-up, way before she was the Goddess or The Fiend’s sidekick.
The multi-time champion got her start with WWE’s Nxt, where she was initially in a managerial role with Wesley Blake and Buddy Murphy before moving on to the singles competition.
Years of hard work in Nxt ultimately resulted in her getting drafted to the main roster. She’s since captured multiple championships and is on the verge of adding another tag team championship reign to her list.
On Sunday, the 31-year-old Bliss shared a throwback photo with her millions of fans and followers in which she wore a familiar blue and white tutu dress with a sleeveless blue top, white knee pads, and boots.

Welcome to this week’s Friday Night SmackDown review, right here on Nerdly. I’m Ted McCullty and we’ve got more sexy ladies here on Playboy TV…whoops! I’m Nathan Favel and we have the death of Pat Patterson to start. Pat Patterson was the one of the great names of professional wrestling, one so large that he helped start the Intercontinental Title just by being too popular to not portray as a champion. Not only did Pat cement his place in wrestling as a major star of tremendous wrestling skill, but he did so as the first major name to be openly homosexual, paving the way for many others to do so. It was Pat’s homosexuality that would stain his reputation as well, but I say that Pat, whether he was a bastard or not, does deserve to be remembered for his accomplishments. To a man who is many things,...

After the unexpected success of WrestleMania 36, with its terrific cinematic matches and fresh fun at a time when it is much needed, it has been a bizarre few weeks for WWE, on and off screen. The controversy surrounding WWE being deemed an “essential business”, a slew of horrific releases, Vince McMahon’s reported fluctuating attitude swinging to “f**k it”, a few injuries of stars like Kevin Owens and Jimmy Uso, pushes and/or TV time for talent who have before not received much of a look in, some limited talent available for shows and some creative-wacky storyline decisions. This really is a year that we will not soon forget when it comes to, well, anything really, but in this case WWE!
So with that said, we advance onto the next Pay-Per-View event, as some newer stars were increasingly getting a shot and some interesting matches had been announced. Ladies and gentleman,...

Welcome to this week’s Friday Night SmackDown review, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and we have the more build for Money In The Bank. Redcon-1 sucked ass. I don’t care if Ted Cruz liked it. Ted Cruz can like my foot up his ass. F— it. Let’s start the review.
Match #1: Daniel Bryan def. King Corbin (Disqualification) The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
Daniel Bryan and King Corbin pushed each other to the brink in a fierce battle of former Money in the Bank Ladder Match winners, but the royal combatant threw a ladder at his opponent in an act of desperation that led to a disqualification. The fighting continued as Bryan clutched Corbin in the “Yes!” Lock on top of a ladder, but Shinsuke Nakamura & Cesaro emerged to help their unlikely ally dish out the final punishment.

Welcome to this week’s Friday Night SmackDown review, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and Peter Pan’s got a small dinky. Braun “F— The Poor Wrestlers” Strowman is the new Universal Champion, so that happened. I’m looking forward to seeing how he does in the role, but I also hope a bunch of indy wrestlers show-up and steal his money, so he can have his chance to feel their pain during the whole Covid-19 crisis. Oh, Braun said “screw you” to any indy wrestler trying to make a buck/avoid having to quit the sport during the lay-off. Yeah…what an idiot. Okay, let’s have some damn fun.

Any-way, let’s see if Nxt can manage to do a whole show without WWE promos. I have my doubts/it can’t.
Match #1: Rhea Ripley, Toni Storm and Candice LeRae def. Kay Lee Ray, Bianca Belair and Io Shirai The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
The piecemeal teams ultimately broke down in favor of Ripley, Storm and LeRae. The Evil Genius of the Sky and The Est of Nxt were unable to stay on the same page, and the Nxt Women’s Champion took advantage, taking Belair down with The Riptide for the victory.

Match #1: Angel Garza def. Lio Rush – Nxt Cruiserweight Championship Match The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
Angel Garza waged psychological warfare against Lio Rush for weeks, and as unbecoming as his tactics were at times, they helped him capture championship gold. The black-and-gold brand’s resident heartthrob made the most of his second opportunity versus Rush, dethroning him as Nxt Cruiserweight Champion with an unconventional submission in a thrilling seesaw affair. Match #1: Killian Dain def. Pete Dunne The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
Pete Dunne made the best of being flattened on Killian Dain’s back at TakeOver: WarGames, but on this night a similar fate ended in defeat for The BruiserWeight. Match #1: Rhea Ripley def. Bianca Belair The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
They say the enemy of your enemy is your friend, and that holds true for Candice LeRae in the case of Io Shirai. Rhea Ripley’s bout with Bianca Belair showcased two of the Nxt Women’s division’s most powerful competitors trading tests of strength and athleticism. Neither was able to gain much of an advantage in the evenly matched bout until Shirai arrived to try to spoil things for Ripley, apparently not...

Lio Rush’s last three weeks have been as good as anyone’s. He returned from sabbatical, earned a title opportunity and now can call himself the new Nxt Cruiserweight Champion. Despite gusty headwinds — ranging from concerns of ring rust for Fandango to the dangers of an ill-tempered Jaxson Ryker lurking around ringside — nothing could stop Fandango & Tyler Breeze from rolling to victory against The Forgotten Sons on the first stop of the Breezango reunion tour. The bigger the entrée, the bigger the appetite. In the first round of the newly launched Nxt Breakout Tournament, Angel Garza and Joaquin Wilde gave volume to that credo in a rip-roaring showdown that prompted “Fight forever” chants throughout Full Sail Live. Garza, an uber-confident third-generation luchador, put his versatile skillset on full display with a series of fast-paced maneuvers that threw Wilde’s innovative offense out of whack, which was apparent when he manipulated a dazzling headscissors from his opponent with a faceplant right onto the canvas. Match #1: Keith Lee def. Cezar Bononi The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
A little time away from the ring couldn’t stop Keith Lee’s glory. The “Limitless” powerhouse showed no signs of ring rust against Cezar Bononi, absorbing all the Brazilian Superstar had to offer before letting go like a super-sized cannon. Yet, Bononi brought the fight to his opponent, leveling him with a volley of knee strikes to slow down Lee’s momentum.

LeRae’s path to victory was almost derailed by Borne when The Vision distracted her, enabling Aliyah to take control of the action. Flanked by Jessamyn Duke & Marina Shafir, The Queen of Spades barged in as The Vision and her bougie teammate were doing a number on Lane, before Catanzaro even tagged into the match. Welcome to this week’s Nxt review, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and there’s a little surprise to come near the end of the show…unless you read the spoilers that have been around for a while.
Match #1: Forgotten Sons def. Moustache Mountain in the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic Semifinals The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
The slick teamwork of Moustache Mountain pushed Tyler Bate & Trent Seven to the brink of victory against Steve Cutler & Wesley Blake, but it wasn’t enough to nullify the ferocious presence of Jaxson Ryker. The Forgotten Sons’ “heavy hitter” disrupted the Semifinal Match as the back-and-forth battle entered the home stretch. By that point, Seven had already survived a prolonged attack on his knee and tagged in “Textbook” Tyler, whose insane power and athleticism turned the tide in Moustache Mountain’s favor. Bate & Seven felled Wesley Blake...

Welcome to this week’s Nxt review, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and we have the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic Tournament all the way through this show. You’d think they would have wanted to have a WarGames tournament or something a bit more associated with his wrestling career, but at least this gives tag team wrestling an extra ledge to hang on to in the WWE.
Match #1: Aleister Black & Ricochet def. Fabian Aichner & Marcel Barthel The following is courtesy of wwe.com:
The too fast-and-furious combination of Aleister Black & Ricochet outlasted double-trouble maulers Fabian Aichner & Marcel Barthel to advance to the Semifinals of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic. Through the duration of the match, Aichner & Marcel’s gridiron-style offense played like a Venus flytrap to Black & Ricochet’s high-flying attacks, which forced the momentum to shift back and forth. An air traffic controller...

Match #1: Kairi Sane & Io Shirai def. Jessamyn Duke & Marina Shafir The following is courtesy of WWE.com:
What a week it’s been for Kairi Sane & Io Shirai. After claiming multiple Nxt Year-End Awards at TakeOver: Phoenix and making impactful showings in the Women’s Royal Rumble Match, the “Sky Pirates” tasted the sweet satisfaction of retribution as they faced Jessamyn Duke & Marina Shafir in a long-awaited tag team match. The Four Horsewomen’s “ground soldiers,” whose interference caused Sane to lose the Nxt Women’s Title to Shayna Baszler at WWE Evolution last September, used quick tags and aggressive tactics to ground The Genius of the Sky. After absorbing Duke & Shafir’s ruthless attack,...

Match #1: Street Profits def. Metro Brothers The following is courtesy of WWE.com:
Eager to start 2019 on the right foot, The Street Profits were even more fired up than usual for their match against Chris & Jc Metro. Montez Ford howled in approval as Angelo Dawkins coldcocked Jc and Chris in succession, and it wasn’t long before Ford launched high into the air with an incredible frog splash to claim the decisive win. Yet, as Ford & Dawkins took a victory lap around Full Sail Live, they were blindsided by The Forgotten Sons’ Wesley Blake & Steve Cutler. Just when it looked like The Street Profits might turns things around, Jaxson Ryker entered the mix to give Blake & Cutler a three-on-two advantage.

Welcome to this week’s Nxt review, right here on Nerdly. I’m Nathan Favel and I can say “macaroni” in Italian…M…a…c…a…r…o…n…i. On this week’s Nxt, we have some wrestling, which seems to be the opposite of Raw, so you should be happy. Also, do you wonder if Katy Perry has ever knocked anybody over with her massive breasts? Y’know, wham, bam, thank you, oooff! Any-way, while you think about that, let me tell you about this week’s Nxt.
Match #1: Matt Riddle def. Punishment Martinez The following is courtesy of WWE.com:
In a battle of two of Nxt’s newest Superstars, Matt Riddle extended his undefeated streak on WWE Network, downing the debuting Punishment Martinez. The Bronx-born Martinez was ferocious in the face of Riddle’s technical expertise, battering Riddle with a cyclone kick and a clothesline.

Match #1: Heavy Machinery def. The Forgotten Sons The following is courtesy of WWE.com:
With every duo jockeying for position in the crowded Nxt Tag Team division, two of the heaviest-hitting teams — Heavy Machinery and The Forgotten Sons — threw down with zeal in a rollicking clash. The outlook was bleak for Otis Dozovic & Tucker Knight at first as Steve Cutler & Wesley Blake used quick tags to expertly cut off the ring and take turns targeting Dozovic’s arm. Tucker Knight altered the complexion once he tagged in, somersaulting off the top rope onto Cutler for a two-count, but The Forgotten Sons regained the advantage after a combination lungblower/elbow drop. Cutler & Blake looked to continue their double-team tactics when Dozovic re-entered the match, but by that point, Heavy...

Match #1: Lacey Evans def. Candice LeRae The following is courtesy of WWE.com:
While Lacey Evans had much to say in last week’s testy parking lot confrontation, Candice LeRae, instead, had her fists do all the talking this week. Using her tenacious in-ring style as a mouthpiece, LeRae pulled out all stops to make The Lady of Nxt eat her words, throwing chops, hard elbows and flying hard rights to ensure the message was received. Yet, Evans didn’t make things easy, as she controlled much of the action with her brutal strength.

Match #1: Kassius Ohno def. Kona Reeves The following is courtesy of WWE.com:
The Knockout Artist, who has been decrying the lack of big opportunities to come his way in recent months, defeated one of his toughest challenges of late, “The Finest” Kona Reeves, in a supremely hard-hitting duel. Though Reeves talked plenty of trash throughout the match, even taunting Ohno with claims that “no one cares about you,” Ohno was dangerously focused. When Buddy Murphy won the tag team titles in Nxt, it wasn’t just a milestone for himself and tag partner Wesley Blake. The Melbourne native made WWE history for Australia as well. “It was a huge honor,” Murphy said. “It was quite an accomplishment for me. I wasn’t aware it went beyond that until the Australian fans hit me up on Twitter to inform me. I did a little research and was the first Australian-born to ever hold a championship. It’s something nobody can take away from me. It’s awesome. Speechless is the right word.” The 27-year-old has grown within … Continue reading →

This week’s edition of Nxt was the last episode before Saturday night’s Takeover event in Brooklyn. The episode was taped last week as the first episode in a taping that included three other episodes as well.
When they went over the Takeover card during the broadcast, they said it was a “double main event” featuring the Nxt Title and Women’s Title matches. That just shows how much progress Nxt has made in terms of how they feature their female performers. They want us to think of the women as main eventers. That’s an amazing sign.
They also did a really good job of promoting all the Takeover matches and even mentioned some of the matches on next week’s Nxt broadcast that will be taped in Brooklyn.
Here are the key matches and segments from this week’s show.

WWE Nxt’s Kalisto is to be repackaged as a gay hairdresser, according to backstage insider MetsFan4Ever. The Reddit user has been right about several backstage developments in the past, but he’s also had his share of wrong information.
It is believed that WWE originally wanted to develop Kalisto as a replacement for Rey Mysterio, but they gave him a tryout recently as an unmasked gay hairstylist. “He blew away officials, no pun intended, with his portrayal, to the point that he is seriously being considered doing that gimmick instead of continuing with the Kalisto gimmick,” MetsFan4Ever states.
This could explain why WWE recently had Kalisto and Sin Cara losing the Nxt Tag Team Titles to the team of Buddy Murphy and Wesley Blake.
