Chan Ho Park
Chan Ho Park is a South Korean professional baseball pitcher who holds
the world record for the most MLB wins by an Asian born pitcher, with
124. Park played for the LA Dodgers, Texas Rangers, San Diego Padres,
New York Mets, Philadelphia Phillies, New York Yankees and Pittsburgh
Pirates. Internationally he played for the Orix Buffaloes in Japan and
Hanwha Eagles in S. Korea. In December 2011, Park signed a contract
with the Hanwha Eagles in S. Korea where he pledged nearly $6 million
of his potential earnings to charity. After announcing his retirement
in late 2012, Park became a celebrity sports commentator for Korea's
JTBC during the World Baseball Classic, featured and referenced in TV
shows and specials and securing major endorsement deals. Considered a
national hero, in 2013 a museum solely dedicated to the athlete opened
in Seoul.
