In addition to the live action movies based on the toy line, the “Monster High” animated series is also returning for a second season, and the Season 2 trailer has arrived.
Mattel, Inc. and Nickelodeon today announced that the second season of the hit animated series will premiere on Monday, March 11, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. (Et/Pt) on Nickelodeon.
Everyone’s favorite boo crew will meet more fangtastic friends, fiends, and families, and face spookier challenges in the haunted halls of Monster High! All-new episodes featuring original and legacy characters alike will continue to debut weekly on Nickelodeon.
In the half-hour season premiere, “Rule School,” Clawdeen finds that balancing school with her new role as Were-Ruler is way more challenging than she thought. As she faces her first big task as Were-Ruler, Clawdeen makes a decision that will shake up the were-world.
It’s a new semester in the 20-episode second season.

Exclusive: Max has boarded Mermicorno: Starfall, an animated series from Canada’s Thunderbird Entertainment.
The series, produced by Thunderbird’s Atomic Cartoons in partnership with global design company Tokidoki, has gone into production and will debut exclusively on Max in the U.S. in 2025.
That follows a deal with Thunderbird, which is selling it internationally and is also co-managing consumer products rights for the IP with LA-based Tokidoki, which means ‘Sometimes’ in Japanese. They plan to debut the series at Licensing Expo in Las Vegas in mid-June.
Mermicorno: Starfall is billed as a “smart and fun adventure-comedy that takes place in a fantastical and magical undersea world, where a team of Mermicorno [enchanting half-‘Unicorno’/half-fish creatures] join together to save the ocean from the threat of the evil Ika Inkblot.”
The series marks the first to bring to life Tokidoki’s ocean world and Mermicorno character family. The first character from the brand was launched in 2015, with collectibles,...

With a huge chunk of the world currently under stay-at-home orders from their local or national governments, a number of parents are slowly going insane from all the constant screaming over “Into the Unknown” playing on loop. I’m fine, by the way, thank you for asking.
Thankfully, DC Comics has offered help. DC Kids Camp is a new program from the comics publisher offering kid-friendly superhero activities and previews of DC’s middle grade graphic novels.
The program will also feature videos, draw alongs, and crafting tutorials with some of the supremely talented comics creators working on those middle grade books. The first, available on the @dccomicskids Twitter feed and @dckids on Instagram on March 25th, is an interactive demonstration on how to make your own Green Lantern ring with Counterstrike co-creator and writer of Green Lantern: Legacy, Minh Le.

Given how Wonder Woman smashed box office records last year, it’s only expected that those largely unfamiliar with the comics flock to bookstores to check them out. Among them will likely be some younger readers and, luckily, that age group is covered thanks to DC Super Hero Girls.
Having first started back in 2015 as a web series that soon gave way to an expansive toy line, those were then swiftly followed by TV specials, animated movies and graphic novels such as Date with Disaster, the subject of today’s conversation. To my delight, a certain feline fatale enjoys a fair amount of the spotlight this time around, which we’ll get into shortly.
Basically, this franchise takes the heroes most of us are familiar with and reinterprets them as teenagers, thereby making them a bit more accessible to the generation coming up. Normally, we follow their adventures at Super Hero High,...

For the past few years, DC has partnered with comic shops, major bookstores and other various retailers in order to bring us Batman Day. Serving as a celebration of all things Dark Knight, each have offered free reprints (and sometimes new stories altogether) of some of the Caped Crusader’s key adventures, not to mention other promo goodies. Basically, it feels like Free Comic Book Day all over again, only with the focus placed squarely on the timeless icon.
While the festivities continuing into this year seemed like a foregone conclusion, we all wondered which books participating stores would be offering. Well, as it turns out, Harley Quinn is taking over with the intention of celebrating her 25th anniversary.
Now, don’t fear because the Masked Manhunter himself won’t be left out of his own holiday,...

But, if you’re someone who enjoys taking in her adventures in a variety of media, it’s probably safe to say that you’re on cloud nine these days.
Of course, it’s highly possible that you’re lamenting Greg Rucka’s run coming to an end, but there’s certainly a lot to look forward to, especially knowing who’ll be picking up the ball and running with it starting with the next issue. Actually, we learned a while back that Shea Fontana would be the incoming writer, but as the time for Wonder Woman #26’s release draws nearer,...

What is best in life? To crush your enemies, see them driven before you and to enjoy totally kickass crossovers.
Thanks to DC and Dark Horse coming together and tearing red tape to shreds, some of the most adored warriors in all of comics will unite this fall in Wonder Woman/Conan, which, if you were to ask me, sounds like one of the most natural dream pairings we could ever wish to make. And with the Amazon Princess currently dominating the box office, in addition to the anticipation that comes along with writer Shea Fontana taking the creative reins on her flagship series, this joint venture couldn’t have come at a more opportune time.

It’s fair to say that a lot of fans haven’t been pleased with the Justice League series of late, making it one of the least liked of the generally well-received DC Rebirth relaunch. If you’re one of those who were turned away by writer Bryan Hitch’s convoluted storytelling, then this is the perfect time to jump back in. Issue #22 introduces a new creative team and they deliver a fun, if undemanding, read with lots of lighter-hearted, comic book thrills held together by an enjoyable team dynamic.

Although said annual is slated to be an anthology of sorts, many readers are likely looking forward to the contribution made by Greg Rucka, who has served as writer on the flagship title for the past year, and artist Nicola Scott, who was paired with him for the Wonder Woman: Year One story arc.

What a great time to be a grandparent (or so I’m told). There are now plenty of books, games, clothing, and video to encourage girls to be strong and independent. DC Comics offers up their Super Hero Girls line and this week they have released their second animated feature, DC Super Hero Girls: Intergalactic Games, a 77-minute romp.
Writer Shea Fontana improves on the first offering with a story set at the Intergalactic Games where Earth’s powered women take on the vile challengers from Korugar Academy. To prepare for the competition Academy teacher Doc Magnus (Phil Lamarr) is building battlebots and supervising Batgirl (Mae Whitman) and Bumblebee (Teala Dunn) as they build their own. Principal Waller (Yvette Nicole Brown) is not amused nor is she happy that Magnus’ bots seem to have free will but were not programmed with any morality, a theme that plays out across the 77-minute fast-paced story.

If you’re a DC fan and happen to like free books, well, it looks like you’re going to have a rather joyous spring, doubly so if you love Wonder Woman.
By now, I’m pretty sure everyone here is familiar with the concept of Free Comic Book Day. If not, here’s the gist of it: Every year on the first Saturday in May, all of the top comic book publishers send out a title or two for participating retailers to hand out. Not only does this provide an opportunity to reel in new readers, but it also increases foot traffic in those shops, kind of making it the industry’s equivalent of Black Friday.

From what we can tell, Wonder Woman has a big summer ahead of her. Not only does her first headlining gig in a movie arrive in cinemas on June 2, but DC has decided to make the very next day all about her, complete with free comics to give out. But aside from all that awesomeness, you can expect some big shakeups in her ongoing series in the next few months.
First, it should be known that writer Greg Rucka and artist Liam Sharp, the very creative team that brought Diana into the Rebirth era, will vacate the title with Wonder Woman #25 in June. Don’t worry, they’re not getting fired or leaving with animosity. Truth be told, the story they set out to tell will have concluded and they’re both moving on to other projects.
