50 Caliber Productions in association with Bronx Bridge Films, World One Tv and Sky Island Storytelling present Craving.
Craving is a monster movie / crime thriller that follows a group of drug addicts besieged by masked figures inside a rural bar. As withdrawal starts to set in, a secret one of them is carrying threatens to destroy them all.
Starring Felissa Rose, Kevin Caliber, Ashley Undercuffler, Holly Rockwell and Al Gomez
Produced by Kevin Caliber, Ashley Undercuffler, Robert Bravo and Sean Reid.
Executive Producer Chris Brown
“Craving is set in 1998. It’s an homage to my young adulthood and the movies of the time. I’ve always loved genre mash-ups and one of my favorites is the crime thriller/horror movie. I love when you take characters that live outside normal society and the law, and put them in a situation where they can’t count on any of those things to help them.

Stars: Kamia Benge, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Lili Simmons, James Jagger, Tessa Munro | Written and Directed by Alex Noyer
As a young child Alexis (Kamia Benge) lost her hearing in an accident. At age ten she regained it while bashing her murderous father’s head in with a meat tenderizer. Not only did her hearing come back, she now has a euphoric response to some sound. A sinister form of Synesthesia that is triggered by the sound of violence and pain.
Now grown up Alexis (Jasmin Savoy Brown; The Leftovers) teaches music to college students. She’s also a musician, converting sounds such as a session between a Dominatrix and her client into electronic music. Unfortunately not only are these sounds not triggering a reaction, she’s beginning to lose her hearing again. And it will take more death to bring it back again.

Around here, we love it when people get lost in the woods and the only thing that turns up is their sandals. It's even better when the only thing to survive is their cameras.
Whether they run into a ghost, a witch, a family of cannibals, or even a Kardashian or two, it's always fun to see what survives.
Indie filmmaker Jason Horton took a few minutes to talk with us about his latest movie Monsters In The Woods (review) and what happens when a film crew goes up against more than just a deadline.
Thank you for taking a few minutes to talk with us. We know you’re busy with Monsters In The Woods hitting shelves on February 21st (and currently available on VOD), so we really appreciate whatever time you can spare for us.

Director Jason Horton is now in post-production on his creature feature Monsters in the Woods. The first trailer for the feature was posted (here) on Fangoria earlier this week. Now, Horton has passed on a couple exclusive photos from the shooting of the film. Actress Jacqui Holland is seen left as Suzi, with what appears to be a life-threatening branch impalement. A second photo is inside, which shows characters Kris (Paul Misko) and Ashley (Linda Bella) in an embrace. Horton says that he is working on the "actual cut this week" and that: "this is definitely the best material I've had to edit with" (Zapruter).
The film is a bloody satire on independent filmmaking and the challenges that directors go through to simply make a film. Even lower budget productions encounter fierce competition and pressure from studios to follow certain formulas. These elements are in Horton's tongue-in-cheek Monsters in the Woods.

Monsters Movie PosterA second, more retro' poster is available for director Jason Horton's (Edges of Darkness) Monsters in the Woods. The film is almost a parody of independent filmmaking, as a low-budget film crew is hampered in their production by creatures from the dark. Also, this latest poster shows a female character pleading for help, with a dark hand approaching in blood reds and in shadows. Have a look at the poster for yourself from Zapruter Pictures.
The synopsis for the Monsters in the Woods here:
"A low-budget film crew treks deep into the wilderness to shoot horror sequences for their unsellable indie-drama. They soon find themselves in the midst of their own horror show as they are hunted down by real monsters" (Monsters).
Director/writer: Jason Horton.
Producer: Robert Bravo.
Cast: Glenn Plummer, Annemarie Pazmino and Kristian Bernard.
*The film is still in development and a trailer is unavailable.

The director of Edges of Darkness, Trap and others, Jason Horton, has dropped off a note for 28Dla about his latest project Monsters in the Woods. Horton has confirmed the casting of Glenn Plummer (Speed), Annemarie Pazmino (Trinity) and Kristian Bernard (Ride or Die). Horton has co-created at least two other projects with actress Annemarie Pazmino and actor Plummer will play Jayson: "[a] hot tempered director who leads his micro-budget crew into the woods to make a monster movie" (Horton). As well, Bernard is a producer and upcoming actor who has over a half dozen appearances in film over the last five years. Production will complete on this horror project in August of this year. The latest Zapruter film to be produced is entitled Monsters in the Woods. Director Jason Horton (Trap) has already been by 28Dla earlier to discuss the film and Horton says that Monsters in the Woods will be loosely based on real events: "recently, I was talking to a producer about Trap and he told me he could not sell it unless I added in some monsters," (Horton) so now Horton's next project has creatures terrozing a film crew in the dead of night and deep in the wilderness. The film has only recently finalized a script, so more details are to come. In the meantime, have a look at this early concept poster for the film and have an early look at the film's synopsis here:

Jason Horton, co-director and co-writer of the recently released zombie opus Edges Of Darkness, got in touch with news and an exclusive pic (see it below) from his new feature Trap. He describes the movie, which he scripted and helmed solo, as “a thriller following a brutal abduction that gets even worse when the middle-aged kidnapper falls for his 15-year-old victim.
“Trap is my third feature,” Horton tells us, “and it showcases my growth as a writer and director. Like my other movies, it doesn’t skimp on the violence, but it’s very character-based. I believe it is technically and creatively my strongest piece to date.”
The cast is headed by Alan Perada, Ashton Blanchard, Alonzo Jones and Annemarie Pazmino, and Horton’s Edges partner Blaine Cade co-edited with him and served as assistant director and production designer. Another Edges alumus, Robert Bravo, produced. “It’s his first solo gig in that capacity,...
