Jessie has received a Drama Desk Award for every eligible role and is the only woman to be Tony-nominated for every role she's originated.

Her father Roger Mueller is an actor, as are her mother and three siblings.

Sisters Jessie and Abby have played the lead role of Carole King in the biographical stage musical "Beautiful: The Carole King Musical" (2014) - with Jessie on Broadway and Abby on the U.S. tour.

She was nominated for the 2011 Equity Joseph Jefferson Award for Actress in a Principal Role in a Musical for "Guys and Dolls", at the Marriott Theatre in Chicago, Illinois.

She first appeared on stage as a walk on role in a student directed show at Northwestern University and credits that as the moment she decided to take acting seriously.

Jessie was honored with a Lilly Award in 2016 for her performance in Waitress. Clearly touched by the gesture, it was revealed that Jessie's performance during opening weekend inspired an audience member to leave an abusive relationship.

One of Jessie's earliest theatrical memories was attending a production of Gyspy in a Chicago which her parents friends were performing in. Jessie was intrigued by the strippers because they had the best costumes and was excited to get to meet them back stage. As an homage to this moment Jessie performers 'You've got to get a gimmick' at her first solo concert in 2017.

Jessie often performs at charity concerts and raises money for Broadway Cares. Additionally she holds master classes for young performers. Her work for Arts Education has been noticed as she was honored by A.R.T in 2016.

Jessie helped to found 'Concert for America' originating the idea alongside Seth Rudetsky.

Jessie's parents are both actors in Chicago. Her older sister, Abby, is also a Broadway actress (Kinky Boots, Beautiful), and her brothers, Matt and Andrew, also act regionally. Jessie's boyfriend, Andrew Trusinshki, also is an actor.
