Matt is a 16 year veteran of the global entertainment industry, with projects spanning nine countries and media formats of all types. His goal on any project is to share the magic of compelling stories with the world.
Matt's career has included positions at production studios, major broadcast networks, OTT streaming services and location-based entertainment companies. He earned a bachelor's degree in digital media from the University of Virginia in 2002. In 2006 he completed his master's degree in Design and Entertainment from Parson's School of Design. Matt joined Curious Pictures as a technical director for feature film and motion capture projects the same year.
Two years later, Matt moved to Nickelodeon Animation and advanced to a position as a VFX Supervisor on multiple CG animated shows. Credits during his eight years at Nickelodeon include nine TV series, including Emmy award-winning shows such as Kung Fu Panda, The Penguins of Madagascar, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
In 2015, Matt transitioned from CG animation to the world of OTT streaming at Pluto TV. His initial position as a Content Curator was to program multiple channels with 1000s of films, TV series, live news and other digital content. Other responsibilities were the ingestion, management and curation of content across verticals of all kinds. Later his role evolved into supervising the Creative Services team to produce graphics, on-air trailers, commercials and other digital assets for Pluto TV's 100+ channels and on-demand library.
Matt shifted to location-based entertainment in 2018 and became a Producer at DMG Entertainment. His role was to ensure the successful creation of a Transformers-themed, large scale virtual reality center. The center included short film, multiple VR attractions and interactive experiences. Matt's primary responsibility was to manage creative development. He supervised CG asset production, game development, marketing materials and other core components of the project. Matt was also the primary point of contact with the IP holder and managed the relationship to keep all key stakeholders in alignment.
In 2020 Matt joined Netflix Animation as a CG Supervisor for the interactive Battle Kitty series. Battle Kitty was animated in Unreal Engine 4 and required a unique pipeline with custom workflows. When production wrapped on Battle Kitty, Matt moved to the CAPS (Creative and Production Solutions) team to work on projects supporting studio infrastructure and resource sharing. He later took a position as the CG Supervisor for an unannounced animated series.
Matt's journey through the world of entertainment is ongoing.
