Driver who was taking George S. Patton to a hunting trip on 9 December 1945 when the car was hit by a truck; Patton died 12 days later from his injuries. An investigation determined that Woodring and the truck driver, Pvt. Robert L. Thompson, were guilty of carelessness, but neither were disciplined.
