Journalist Kara Swisher will interview OpenAI’s Mira Murati on Monday, June 10, as the inaugural guest of a four-part live event series hosted at the Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg Center in Washington, D.C.

Swisher’s interview with Murati about AI, misinformation, and the 2024 elections will begin a yearlong partnership between Johns Hopkins and Vox Media that will convene discussions among the brightest minds working at the high-stakes intersection of technology, science, and public policy.

Each of the four live events in the new “Discovery” series will focus on a different AI-related issue and feature Swisher recording an interview with a topic-specific guest for her podcast, On with Kara Swisher, and a panel discussion moderated by Swisher with leading experts from Hopkins and other organizations.

Exclusive: Kevin Hart has called up SNL star Kenan Thompson to help on his latest NBA Unplugged episode.

Thompson, who has portrayed his fare share of basketball stars on the long-running NBC series, will join hart for the alternative telecast of ESPN2’s game between the Philadelphia 76ers and the New York Knicks.

Jb Smoove, Andre Iguodala and Meek Mill are also on the show.

Hart kicked off the Manningcast-style series, which is produced by Peyton Manning’s Omaha Productions and Hart’s Hartbeat, during the NBA’s new in-season tournament, which was won by the LA Lakers.

Now, seven episodes of the show during the regular season, kicking off with the Knicks at 76ers. Other games include the Dallas Mavericks vs. Miami Heat in April.

Hart hosts the series alongside the Plastic Cup Boyz: Joey Wells, Will Horton and Na’im Lynn.

She joins in the new role of SVP, Communications, reporting to CEO Roham Gharegozlou, after the company closed a $305M funding round led by Coatue Management.

The 16-year-old is one of the investors in the company’s most recent $50 million Series B funding round, which was led by Coatue Management and also featured participation from Stripe, Crosslink Capital, Collaborative Fund, Will Smith’s Dreamers Vc, Justin Timberlake, The Chainsmokers, Eli Manning, Kelvin Beachum, Larry Fitzgerald, and Andre Iguodala.

All told, two-month-old Step -- which, has raised more than $75 million in venture funding to date -- offers users free bank accounts, spending cards, and a peer-to-peer payment platform that enables teens to send and receive money instantly.
