You may have heard that Back to the Future villain Biff Tannen was based on Donald Trump - but did you know that the billionaire businessman was also the "real-life inspiration" for Marvel superhero Iron Man? So said Trump's "publicist," Joey Pepperoni, anyway, in Saturday's SNL spoof poking fun of the presumptive Gop nominee for masquerading as his own spokesperson in 1991 to boast about himself to then-people reporter Sue Carswell. Stephen Colbert got in on the Trump bashing, too, hopping on a call with "Barron McJohnington" (a play on John Miller and John Barron, the two names Trump reportedly used...

Mo Collins, who was a lineman in the NFL and most recently worked as a high school football coach, died on Sunday. He was 38.
Mo Collins Dies
Collins died of kidney failure over the weekend after being on dialysis, according to the Charlotte Observer.
Prior to his death, Collins had been serving as the coach for the West Charlotte High School football team. This season was his second with the squad. With him at the helm, the school had earned its most wins since the 2010 season.
"He's a guy that tried to include everybody," said Charlotte Christian assistant coach Eugene Robinson. "Mo's a motivator and a guy that gets things done. He's one of those guys that says, 'There's a need,' and he gets things done. He's real passionate and impresses upon you his passion. ... He's one of those guys when you talk to (him), he's so lovable because he's such a big guy.

Washington Post columnist and frequent MSNBC talking head Eugene Robinson has joined the chorus of critics arguing that CNN has gone too far with its wall-to-wall "speculation" about the missing Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 plane. In a new column, Robinson singles out CNN for chasing long-shot "theories" about what happened to the airliner rather than admitting they -- like everyone else -- don't know what happened.

Tucker Carlson has been making the rounds on Fox News today promoting a massive investigation by his site The Daily Caller on Media Matters for America that exposes the close nature of their relationship with MSNBC and many mainstream media reporters and editors. On The O'Reilly Factor tonight, Carlson elaborated on some of those points, particularly pointing out Washington Post writers Eugene Robinson, Ej Dionne and Greg Sargent as taking cues from the organization.

In a remarkably heated back-and-forth on Friday's Morning Joe, Joe Scarborough grilled MSNBC contributor Eugene Robinson over his controversial comments calling Rick Santorum's handling of the death of his newborn "weird." "Do you think you may have gone overboard a little bit in your criticisms of Santorum?" Scarborough asked. "We haven't talked about it. I'm not setting you up for anything. I was taken aback by what you said.

Chris Matthews was discussing the ongoing debt ceiling negotiations with his guests Eugene Robinson and Ron Reagan when he made a curious statement about The O'Reilly Factor. Theorizing that Republican presidential candidate Michele Bachmann is actually calling the shots on the Republican debt ceiling position, Matthews reviewed her interview last night with Bill O'Reilly and concluded that O'Reilly's show is "where you go when you want to speak their religion . . . when you want to go far right, I think you go over to Bill."...

After several serious segments analyzing the events in Libya and Japan, Chris Matthews told his viewers it was time for "a little candy" as he analyzed Sarah Palin's "not-so excellent adventure" to India and Israel. With guests David Corn and Eugene Robinson, Matthews wondered why would Palin make the "schlep" to Israel unless she actually did intend to run for President?...

Chris Matthews welcomed two frequent guests to Hardball, Salon's Joan Walsh and Washington Post's Eugene Robinson to discuss some controversial Republican stories ranging from Governor Haley Barbour refusing to denounce license plates that honor the Kkk's founder to Speaker of the House John Boehner refusing to tell Americans whether or not they should believe President Obama is a Muslim. Somehow Republican Congresswoman Michele Bachmann snuck into the conversation too, with Matthews finally just concluding that Republicans are a "party of crazy people."...

Of all the MSNBC commentators providing post-speech analysis, new 8pm host Lawrence O'Donnell provided the most unpredictable analysis of President Obama's State of the Union Address. While Rachel Maddow, Chris Matthews, Ed Schultz and Eugene Robinson, all thought Obama impressively gave a speech that unified the country, proved his belief in American exceptionalism, and helped him reclaim his stature as a leader, O'Donnell was most concerned with the fact that Obama hardly said anything specific.

For all the shows on tonight, there's surprisingly little that seems worth watching. The 9pm hour is basically a total wash for me, nothing of interest at all, and 10pm only works because you've got a choice of "Hoarders" (if you want to be disgusted and scared into being neater) or "Castle" (if you're nostalgic for other, non-procedural shows starring Nathan Fillion). There's always the football game for those of us who like football, but really, Monday is shaping up to be a depressing night for television if you're not a fan of a few very specific shows featured on The CW or enjoy watching stars dancing. Here's your Monday night TV:
8:00pm: "90210" on The CW
"Chuck" on NBC
"Dancing With the Stars" on ABC
"House" on Fox
"How I Met Your Mother" on CBS
"Little People, Big World" on Tlc. I always seem to find something vaguely insulting or distasteful about this show,...

Haley Barbour is not only the Governor of Mississippi, but he leads the Republican Governor's Association (which recently received a $1 Million donation from News Corp.) and is also considered a serious Republican presidential candidate for 2012. During a recent interview with conservative website Human Events, Barbour recalled his memories of growing up in a relatively tolerant and integrated South, claiming it was the "old Democrats who had fought for segregation so hard." Enter Rachel Maddow and Eugene Robinson to fact-check, and well, it's not a pretty picture.

"The Swiss government declared renowned film director Roman Polanski a free man on Monday after rejecting a Us request to extradite him on a charge of having sex in 1977 with a 13-year-old girl," report Bradley S Klapper and Frank Jordans of the AP. "The Swiss mostly blamed Us authorities for failing to provide confidential testimony about Polanski's sentencing procedure in 1977-1978. The Justice Ministry also said that national interests were taken into consideration in the stunning decision."

Despite the absurdity of the Liz Cheney/Keep America Safe "Al Qaeda 7" ad, and the fact that Cheney's group sounds like its mascot ought to be a pee-pants version of Woodsy Owl, the spot has been generating a lot of heat. Here is the dumbest newspaper article I’ve read in quite a long time. I mean dumb not just in the sense of failing to understand what most everyone else surely understands, or of taking a rolling-on-the-floor obvious point and considering it to be an original one, but of being stubbornly virtuous, too—everything that’s wrong with newspapers, in other words, boiled down into one article. It’s by Eugene Robinson, a syndicated newspaper columnist and former Washington Post editor, who, Wikipedia tells me (because Robinson undoubtedly told Wikipedia), has won the Pulitzer Prize and is a frequent guest on the Keith Olberman, Rachel Maddow, and Chris Matthews shows. Robinson is, I infer, a liberal. His article is about sex, a subject newspaper people should probably not be writing about—at least not if they come out of that long sexless tradition called a family newspaper (tabloid reporters, on the other hand,...
