Ted Lasso star and co-creator Brendan Hunt is answering several burning questions that were left unanswered by the season (series?) finale last week.
Hunt took to Reddit for an Ask Me Anything thread and spent some time providing responses to fan questions about everything from a possible relationship between Ted (Jason Sudeikis) and Rebecca (Hannah Waddingham) to the chances of a spinoff or fourth season.
“We don’t know,” the Coach Beard actor wrote about whether or not there’s a chance for more stories in the Ted Lasso universe. “We need a break and will take one presently. Nothing has been ruled out, everything is possible; but that includes the possibility that we’re done. We won’t know until we’ve sat with it for a while, decompressed, etc.”

Not all the news coming out of CBS today is good news: After reversing its decision to cancel S.W.A.T., the Eye network has cancelled freshman dramas East New York and True Lies, TVLine has learned.
East New York starred Amanda Warren as Deputy Inspector Regina Haywood, who ran a police station in a working-class Brooklyn neighborhood. The newly promoted Haywood faced resistance from veteran officers and detectives who didn’t like the changes she was trying to make. Jimmy Smits co-starred as Haywood’s mentor John Suarez. Ruben Santiago-Hudson, Kevin Rankin, Richard Kind, Elizabeth Rodriguez, Lavel Schley and Olivia Luccardi led the supporting cast.

There will be no second season for CBS’ True Lies. The network has canceled the reboot of James Cameron’s hit 1994 action comedy movie after one season. The news comes ahead of the show’s Season 1 finale on May 17.
The decision is not surprising. True Lies has not been able to find an audience, ranking as CBS’ lowest-rated scripted series of the season. Its ratings remained relatively steady, indicating a loyal core audience, but they stayed low.

[This story contains spoilers for Ted Lasso season three, episode eight: “We’ll Never Have Paris.”]
The eighth episode of Ted Lasso’s third season (and potentially its final season, depending on who you ask) sees several characters stuck inside of sad songs. And while it gets better for most of them, it doesn’t end so happily for everybody.
In “We’ll Never Have Paris,” written by Keeley Hazell and Dylan Marron, three romantic relationships shift through three very different phases. There’s new love in the form of Nate (Nick Mohammed) and Jade (Edyta Budnik). So new that “love” might even be too strong a word for it, but “boyfriend” is the exact right word as Jade makes her feelings for Nate plainly clear. There’s the potential for some restored love in the form of Ted (Jason Sudeikis) and his ex-wife Michelle (Andrea Anders), who comes to London with her son Henry (Gus Turner) and new boyfriend Dr. Jake...

Mike: Erica and I learned some sleight of hand for the card scenes, none of which aired in the actual episode. We spent much time learning how to make cards disappear.
Yes, I wondered if they taught you to cheat at cards since the casino...

It’s a tale as old as time… er, 1994: Mild-mannered family man is actually a trained assassin working to rid the world of bad guys, yet his wife and kids think he’s a goofy salesman.
If the plot of True Lies sounds familiar, that’s because it’s based on James Cameron’s blockbuster movie starring Arnold Schwarzenegger (which in turn was based on the French film La Totale!). And now CBS has adapted the story into a series, which premiered Wednesday, starring Steve Howey (Shameless) and Ginger Gonzaga (She-Hulk: Attorney at Law) and executive-produced by Matt Nix (Burn Notice). If you love James Cameron’s 1994 smash True Lies — the effort to out-Bond the James Bond movies of that period remains evident in every tremendous action set-piece — it’s probably better not to think of CBS’ True Lies as having anything to do with it.
If you hate James Cameron’s 1994 smash True Lies — it’s creepy, misogynistic, xenophobic and the pacing dies for an hour in the middle — it’s probably better not to think of CBS’ True Lies as having anything to do with it.
As a movie, True Lies was a mushroom cloud, every explosion and stunt pushed to a mid-’90s extreme.
As a TV show, CBS’ True Lies is a bottle rocket. The accurate minimization of the series isn’t exactly “cheap,” but it’s definitely “incongruously small.” True Lies is a fizzy throwback that’s closer to something like a Hart to Hart or...

It took an extra day but True Lies, which had been expected to get a nod yesterday, along with CBS’ other new series orders, is officially picked up to series. As Deadline reported yesterday, the reboot of James Cameron’s hit 1994 action comedy movie, from Matt Nix, McG, Cameron and 20th Television, is targeted for midseason. It joins CBS’ other newly picked up hourlong series, Fire Country, East New York and So Help Me Todd, which are expected to be on the fall schedule.

"Winning is an addiction, Jtro!" Get ready for a sequel to that cult indie sci-fi film that you didn't see! The first teaser trailer has arrived for Beats of Rage, a sequel to The Fp, a cult sci-fi film about a futuristic world where winning the Dance-Dance-Revolution arcade game is the greatest glory. The comedy scene is particularly vibrant at the moment, but the barriers between TV and the web...
