For Nadji Jeter, stepping back into the role of Miles Morales for Insomniac’s Spider-Man 2 was a chance to learn some new skills — outside the realm of webswinging. Among them was studying American Sign Language, which Miles uses to communicate with street artist Hailey Cooper in the game, which has been praised for its deaf representation.
“We had great teachers on set. I’ve always embraced it, because I feel like we’re touching a lot of communities,” Jeter tells The Hollywood Reporter. “A lot of people out there that can sometimes feel like they get excluded. But in Spider Man 2, everyone is connected with this game.”
In Spider-Man 2, Jeter also formed a relationship with genre legend Tony Todd, who plays Venom in the game.
“That’s my uncle, man! Uncle Tony,” says Jeter. “The day when he was on the motion capture set, it was like the President was there.

For Yuri Lowenthal, Insomniac’s Spider-Man 2 was a case of real life colliding with fiction. In the game, he worked with his wife, Tara Platt, who voices Captain Yuri Watanabe. And he became close with actor Nadji Jeter, who plays young Spider-Man/Miles Morales.
“My real-life relationship with Nadji, at various times, would echo the relationship that we have in the game,” Lowenthal tells The Hollywood Reporter. “I think that just comes from me being a lot older than him and maybe having acted longer. But it just started to grow that way with us in real life, too.”
The game also included some dark moments for Peter, via his relationship with the symbiote.
“I was drained at the end of sessions, because it was hard pushing Peter and that character into a very unfamiliar and mean place,” says the actor.

The Spider-Man family of media is synonymous with some of the best actors in the business. The movies are iconic thanks to the stars who bring the stories to life, and the cartoons are legendary for some of the best line deliveries you’ll ever hear. However, unlike properties such as Batman, no one actor has truly embodied the wall-crawler or his amazing friends (or deadly enemies). So, Insomniac Games had their work cut out for them when it came time to cast for Marvel’s Spider-Man.
To say Insomniac knocked it out of the park with their selected voices would be an understatement, so of course they were primed to return for subsequent entries, including Spider-Man 2. The game is full of returning characters, many of whom are voiced by the same actors, but the main selling point are all the new faces. During the game, players will get...

This will be a pretty interesting Fall for Marvel fans. The Marvel Cinematic Universe will spawn one new movie, ‘The Marvels’, and the second season of the ‘Loki’ Disney+ series. But apart from that, Spider-Man fans are looking forward to ‘Marvel’s Spider-Man 2,’ the highly anticipated video game developed by Insomniac Games that serves as the sequel to 2018’s original ‘Marvel’s Spider-Man’ and its spin-off ‘Spider-Man: Miles Morales,’ which was released in 2020.
The original ‘Marvel’s Spider-Man’ game is the most successful first-party game ever released on PS4, with over 20 million copies sold. Two years later, when ‘Spider-Man: Miles Morales’ was released as a launching title for PS5, the original game also received a remastered version for PS5, in which Peter Parker’s face was changed. The thing is that John Bubniak provided motion capture for the original release of the first game, and Ben Jordan replaced him in...

Being one of the most popular superheroes and fictional characters ever created, it’s no wonder that Spider-Man was adapted numerous times into all kinds of media. When Stan Lee and Jack Kirby created the character back in 1962, we aren’t sure if they were aware of what legend they created, and that legend has remained ubiquitous to this day.
Now, in 2023, we can say that we’ve read countless Spider-Man stories in the comics, watched eight live-action movies, two animated theatrical movies, and many animated series. Also, the Spider-Man fans had a chance to play countless video games on various platforms.
The first-ever video game based on Spider-Man was released back in 1982 for Atari 2600 and Odyssey 2 platforms. Since then, numerous video games featuring Spider-Man have been released, including three games based on Sam Raimi’s ‘Spider-Man’ movie trilogy and two games based on Marc Webb’s ‘The Amazing Spider-Man’ duology.

In 2018, just months before Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse redefined what a Spider-Man story could look like on the big screen, the team at Insomniac and PlayStation unleashed their own game-changing iteration. Spider-Man became the definitive Spidey video game, with Spider-Man: Miles Morales arriving in 2020. Combined, they have sold more than 33 million copies.
Now a long-awaiting sequel is arriving Oct. 20, and The Hollywood Reporter was among a group of media outlets that spent three hours playing the new version at a preview in Los Angeles earlier this week.
Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is set just nine months after the events in Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, which saw Peter Parker taking an overseas trip and Miles adjusting to the mantle of becoming New York’s only Spider-Man. With Peter Parker back in town, the upcoming game expands on the story of how both superheroes will change and grow — both themselves,...

Cameron Douglas gives a deeply felt performance as a cynical cop who strong-arms a teen screwup into helping with a bust
A high-society princeling trying to drown inner demons with drugs by the bucketload: it could have been a role written specifically for Cameron Douglas, son of Michael. But, befitting his newly sober and reformed status, Douglas takes the paternal cop role in The Runner, while French-Finnish actor Edouard Philipponnat (soon to be seen in Ridley Scott’s Napoleon) is a teenage drug-dealing screwup; both give robust performances in this deeply felt but somewhat cumbersome thriller.
It plays a bit like Hamlet, if Hamlet was constantly bumping coke and hawking every substance going around. Gilded high-schooler Aiden (Philipponnat) is busted by the no-nonsense Detective Wall (Douglas), who releases him on the proviso he helps take down a local big-shot dealer. On paper, “Spider-Man: Miles Morales” seems pretty straightforward: It’s the follow-up to Insomniac Games’ wildly successful “Spider-Man,” a 2018 PlayStation 4 exclusive that dropped everyone’s favorite webslinger into an open-world Manhattan and allowed him to zip around the New York skyline in a friendly, gravity-defying riff on “Grand Theft Auto.” But a strange identity crisis sets in almost as soon as players swing back into action, and that cognitive dissonance only grows as you careen through the game’s electric 10-hour-plus campaign. The more that Miles — Brooklyn to the bone — starts to feel at home in his adopted Harlem neighborhood, the more obvious it becomes that his standalone new adventure isn’t just a cut-and-dry sequel with a different super teen subbing in for Peter Parker. Anyone can wear the mask, but that doesn’t change who they are underneath.

Disney Xd has ordered a third season of the Emmy-nominated animated series Marvel’s Spider-Man with a Spring 2020 premiere, according to Marc Buhaj, senior vice president, programming and general manager, Disney Xd. In the third season, titled Marvel’s Spider-Man: Maximum Venom, Peter Parker’s alter ego is pushed to his breaking point when the always-volatile Venom summons a global threat from its alien home world.
“This is the most epic conflict in the history of Marvel Animation,” said Cort Lane, senior vice president, Marvel Animation & Family Entertainment. “We planted the seeds in two seasons of Marvel’s Spider-Man and three seasons of Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, but you don’t need to have watched them to be blown away by this colossal confrontation. "Does your mother know you're going down there on a Friday night?" Abramorama has released the first trailer for a hazy, indie drama titled Flock of Four, the feature directorial debut of director Gregory Caruso. We haven't heard much about this yet, but it actually seems like a nifty story for a film, and it looks pretty darn good. Set over the course of one night in 1959, the film follows four best friend teens who drive around Los Angeles searching for one of their music idols, legendary jazz musician Pope Dixon (a fictional character inspired by real musicians), as played by Reg E. Cathey (who passed away in February). The cast includes Braeden Lemasters, Uriah Shelton, Isaac Jay, and Dylan Riley Snyder as the friends, as well as Shane Harper, Coco Jones, and Nadji Jeter. I like the vintage look and feel to this. Take a look. Here's the first...

While another bruising company of costumed heroes makes the walls vibrate in stereo at many theatres (actually in most of the screens at your local multiplex), a quieter, more gentle film is opening to give families a nice alternative. And it stars real flesh and blood actors rather than computer-generated characters. It’s based on the rare young adult novel that’s not set in a dystopian future. The beloved five year-old book offers another take on a tale as old as time, with themes that echo the live Beauty And The Beast from earlier in the year. Add a dash of The Elephant Man, a pinch of The Phantom Of The Opera, a sprinkle of Mask, toss it in a middle school (maybe cooked in a classic “Easy Bake Oven”) and film goers should savor this sweet, nourishing cinema dish all about a most unusual boy, who despite his...

Based on the New York Times bestseller, Wonder tells the inspiring and heartwarming story of August Pullman. Born with facial differences that, up until now, have prevented him from going to a mainstream school, Auggie becomes the most unlikely of heroes when he enters the local fifth grade.
