One of my favorite indie horror movies of the last five years is Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead’s Resolution, a genre-bending effort that’s so confidently unique that it’s become a film I’ve recommended countless times to friends and family, whether they dig horror movies or not, and even programmed it as part of the film fest I used to run out here in Los Angeles, just because I wanted folks to have a chance to see it on a big screen (which doesn’t often happen for a lot of lower-budgeted genre fare).
A few years ago, their Lovecraftian love story Spring knocked my socks off, and I enjoyed their contribution to V/H/S: Viral as well, but nothing could have prepared me for my viewing experience while watching their latest movie, The Endless. About five minutes in, I got absolutely giddy once I realized...

Wasteland is a film from director Kantz, which is reminiscent of the '80s post apocalyptic films of old. In the '80s there seemed to be this focus on a destroyed and dangerous landscapes as seen in films like
Mad Max 2 , Bronx Warriors, Escape from New York and many others. Several films dealt with societal fears of imminent nuclear annihilation e.g. Quiet Earth, Def Con 4. However, trends change.
With Wasteland, global catastrophes come about through environmental hazards e.g. pollutants, overpopulation. In this devolving landscape "religious zealots" fight against a group of cannibals and mutants for survival. Pollution are the cause of mutations and societal collapse "chemicals pumped into the environment have caused the ecosystem to fail and collapse." Full of action and adventure, between a desperate hero and the end of the world, Wasteland will be released by Cinema Epoch on DVD October 11th. Possible DVD...

Ezra Buzzington, you may remember him from a handful of movies- Ghost World, Mirrors, The Hills Have Eyes, or Art School Confidential. Lately, however, Ezra Buzzington has been leaving his mark on the indie horror world starring in the drug and rape fueled Someone's Knocking At The Door and the thought provoking Breath of Hate.
I had the chance to ask him a few questions about these projects. Here's what he had to say.

For those unfamiliar with you, who is Ezra Buzzington?
I've been called the Dennis Hopper of underground films. But actually, I'd probably take roles he would shy away from. I'm that guy walking behind you who's going to either fuck you, kill you or make you laugh. Depending on what you least expect. My first film was Fight Club with David Fincher directing. Since then I've...

Sin City is suddenly becoming a genre town. The Blacklist Film Festival brought their indie flavor to Las Vegas; Live Evil hit the Sci-Fi Center; and the Fangoria Trinity Of Terrors took over The Palms.
Now William Powell’s comic shop and grindhouse theater hosts the Las Vegas premiere of Sean Cain’s Silent Night, Zombie Night (which we last covered here). The event, celebrating independent cinema, Christmas and zombies all in one night, takes place December 5 at 8 p.m. and costs $5.
Cain, who Fangoria calls a “Indie Horror Specialist,” will be on hand for a Q&A and autograph signing session after the film, as will producer Wes Laurie, and co-stars Chris Gabriel (”One Long Day,” “Devotion,” “S4″), Chad Clinton Freeman ("Killer Biker Chicks"), Luke Y. Thompson (”Wicked Lake,” “Mad Cowgirl”) and Sean Decker ("Alluvial"). Dread Central's Heather Wixson, aka The Horror Chick, will be hosting the event.
