She was awarded the MBE (Member of the Order of the British Empire) in the 1995 Queen's Honours List before being awarded the CBE (Commander of the Order of the British Empire) in the 2002 Queen's New Years Honours List for her services to dance.
She was awarded the 1993 Laurence Olivier Theater Award (1992 season) for Outstanding Achievement in Dance for Choreography of Rambert Company's Winnsboro Cotton Mill Blues.
