Declan Cassidy (Whatever Turns You On) is currently in development with 'Do Not Pass Go', a new feature from the pen of Irish writer Rodney Lee (Moore Street Masala). The comedy/drama is expected to start shooting in the late autumn of this year. Timesnap's latest feature, 'Do Not Pass Go' is an offbeat comedy/drama set in the concrete wasteland of an Irish industrial estate. It centres around a malcontent photocopy worker who falls in love with an Indian advertising executive across a backdrop of society's outsiders. The film will shoot late this autumn in Dublin, Louth and Meath and is to be lensed by Shane Tobin (Véronique). The film's cast members are Tbc.

The full Irish line up for the Palm Springs International Shortfest was announced yesterday. With only 315 films being selected from more than 2,500 worldwide entries, Irish talent is represented with seven films chosen for screening, at this year's festival. The selected Irish shorts are: Atlantic' by Conor Ferguson; 'Whatever Turns You On' by Declan Cassidy; 'Sunshower' by Liam Gavin; 'The German' by Nick Ryan; 'The Man Inside' by Rory Bresnihan; 'Sandpiper' by Jimmy T. Murakami; 'The Ranger' by Pj Dillon.

'Whatever Turns You On' by Dublin Filmmaker Declan Cassidy, which has scooped a number of awards since it's premiere at Galway Film Fleadh last summer, has just been officially selected for the Palm Springs International Shortfest (23 – 29 June). Funded by the Irish Film Board, 'Whatever Turns You On' features a cast of Irish actors including Luke Cameron (Hill 16, Fair City), who plays the homeless man, alongside Caoimhe O'Malley and Richard Wall.

Declan Cassidy's short film 'Whatever Turns You On' has scooped the Best Short Award at the Aspen Shortsfest in the Us. The filmmaker has also revealed plans for two new shorts. As an 'Oscar Qualifier' festival, the Aspen Shortsfest sees 'Whatever Turns You On' now eligible for entry to the Academy Awards next year. Having qualified from more than 2,500 entries into the Short category, the film (whose submission into Aspen was supported by Culture Ireland) was selected as the winner from the 60 finalists.
