A new video posted by IGN has apparently revealed the (almost) full roster for WWE 2K16.
It is common knowledge now that the new game will have a bumper roster of 120 unique characters, but the list below falls a few short of that while Hulk Hogan is still a part of it. The Hulkster has been removed from the game altogether for reasons that you don’t need me to tell you about.
There are a number of shocking inclusions, including Superstars down the pecking order in Nxt and Attitude Era stars who had very little to do with cover star Stone Cold Steve Austin. While there are also a number of notable exclusions, including the Legion of Doom, who seemed to be nailed on for a place in the new title after leaked video footage appeared to show Jerry ‘The King’ Lawler and Jim Ross recording commentary...

The WWE Title match for Extreme Rules was set following the main event of this week’s edition of Raw. When Randy Orton defeated Ryback and Roman Reigns in a triple threat match he earned the opportunity to challenge WWE Champion Seth Rollins for the title in Chicago on April 26.
Orton’s win was no surprise. The announcement was expected to take place since Orton defeated Rollins in a singles match at WrestleMania, just hours before Rollins won the WWE Title in the main event of WrestleMania. That’s typical wrestling booking where a guy beats a champion in a match before the champion wins the title because that makes the champion look vulnerable and makes it look like the challenger could beat the champion for the title.
It would be a shock if Orton beats Rollins. The expectation is that Rollins will be WWE Champion all the...

Last year’s Royal Rumble event was a controversial one, with Daniel Bryan’s name being chanted throughout the rumble-match itself which was won by a returning Batista. The response from the fans was so vehement that WWE were forced to insert Bryan into the WrestleMania 30 main event, where he won the title in New Orleans. Now, a year later, Bryan has just returned to WWE from a severe neck injury and is back in the fan’s hearts as their firm favourite. This year, unlike last, Bryan is In the rumble match, and a solid favourite, for fans, to go to WrestleMania 31 and fight for the title. Let’s see what happens shall we?

From the American midwest to Mexico and now taking over the world, Kalisto – the non-Sin Cara half of the just-debuted Lucha Dragons tag combination – has had quite the intriguing trek to World Wrestling Entertainment. However, the “new” superstar does wear a mask and did wrestle under other aliases prior to WWE, so much may not be known about him.
From having wrestled in a plethora of well-respected independent promotions against a who’s who of indy and current WWE developmental stars, he also actually has pay-per-view wrestling experience as well as an arc of development that mirrors other established lucha names, too.As well, there will be match clips a plenty here, as those who have been impressed by what they have already seen on WWE television have been watching this performer only scratch the surface of his abilities.

Firmly into the home straight for Wrestlemania 31 from Santa Clara and off of the back of last night’s Raw, it appears the final card has been set, although you should expect to see some kind of Tag Title match added at some point, probably for the mammoth Pre-Show!
Officially added to the card last night was the long suspected, long awaited clash between ‘The Viper’ Randy Ortron and ‘Mr. Money in the Bank’ Seth Rollins. Rollins officially accepted Orton’s challenge in the opening segment on the condition Orton face Rollins later in the show.
Far from WWE to give away one of ‘Mania’s marquee match-ups, this of course was a tease of not just the Orton vs. Rollins match but also Sting’s first ever WWE match against Triple H, when he joined Orton in the ring to fend of the Authority as Raw went off the air.

WrestleMania is WWE’s biggest show of the year, so they try to get as many people on the show as possible. Last year WWE announced that they would have an annual WrestleMania battle royal named after Andre the Giant where the winner gets a trophy that is a statue of Andre, who was WWE’s first Hall of Famer.
From WWE.com, here’s a listing of the competitors in the match with two weeks to go until WrestleMania: The Miz, Curtis Axel, Ryback, Fandango, Adam Rose, Zack Ryder, Jack Swagger, Titus O’Neil, Darren Young, Big Show, Kane, Erick Rowan, Damien Mizdow and Sin Cara. That’s 14 names. The expectation is that there will be 20 people in the match, so they’re either waiting on announcing the final six or they aren’t going to bother announcing it.

We continue on the Road to WrestleMania 31 here with the second Raw of February 2015. Last week we saw Daniel Bryan beat Seth Rollins in order to gain a shot at Roman Reigns at WWE Fast Lane, with the winner of that match going to WrestleMania to face Brock Lesnar for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. So, plenty to be curious about here, let’s get on with it.
The show opens with Roman Reigns heading to the ring to 80% boo’s, 20% cheers, and talks about how he won the Royal Rumble and shouldn’t have to earn his shot at Lesnar again. Reigns bumbled his lines yet again here, they need to keep him quiet and get him to practice more, seriously. Bryan interrupts to 80% cheers, 20% boo’s, and tells Reigns that they will be fighting at Fast Lane, and that he is the better wrestler, etc. The Authority interrupts,...

WWE Nxt’s Kalisto is to be repackaged as a gay hairdresser, according to backstage insider MetsFan4Ever. The Reddit user has been right about several backstage developments in the past, but he’s also had his share of wrong information.
It is believed that WWE originally wanted to develop Kalisto as a replacement for Rey Mysterio, but they gave him a tryout recently as an unmasked gay hairstylist. “He blew away officials, no pun intended, with his portrayal, to the point that he is seriously being considered doing that gimmick instead of continuing with the Kalisto gimmick,” MetsFan4Ever states.
This could explain why WWE recently had Kalisto and Sin Cara losing the Nxt Tag Team Titles to the team of Buddy Murphy and Wesley Blake.

Michael Cole began this week’s Raw with a sentence something like “we are only 50 days away, on this Road to WrestleMania”. 50 days. That’s a decent amount of time for WWE to put the hype machine behind the entire roster in order to assemble a fantastic card for their annual extravaganza. We have all heard the rumours of matches that WWE may have planned, but there is only one confirmed as we head into this episode of Raw, being the main event between Brock Lesnar and Royal Rumble winner, Roman Reigns, for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. With Triple H hyping a “huge announcement” for tonight, the question is… will things take a swerve on the road to the grand-daddy of them all.
Raw opens with Triple H and Stephanie McMahon heading to the ring, jovial and smiling. They talk about the Superbowl a little, and discuss the conteroversy that ended the Royal Rumble,...

We are a few hours removed, as I write this, from the end of the 2015 Royal Rumble. I didn’t stay up to watch it live this year like I normally do because the booking for the show hasn’t interested me enough, and the matches weren’t exciting enough for me to stay awake until 4am (UK-time) to watch them. Smackdown was filmed on Tuesday night, with the show now airing on Thursday nights. Emanating from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, the show was promoted around the in-ring return of Daniel Bryan.
The show started with Bryan’s match against Kane. Unfortunately it was cut short when Jamie Noble, Joey Mercury, Seth Rollins and Big Show got involved. That set up a six man main event for later, after Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns ran in to save Bryan.
Bray Wyatt did a promo and declared his intention to win the Royal Rumble. In reality, he’s a big outside bet.
The Miz and Damien Mizdow and Alicia Fox defeated The Usos and Naomi. It was then announced that The Usos vs Miz and Mizdow would take place at Royal Rumble for the tag team titles.

Getting the WWE superstars’ ratings accurate in their showpiece games every year is an unenviable task for 2K Sports.
World Wrestling Entertainment is a machine that is constantly moving, a machine that never stands still due to a number of reasons.
More often than not the WWE Universe gets what it wants, eventually. Daniel Bryan is a fine example of this where the powers that be saw the reaction he was getting from crowds all over the world and capitalised on his popularity. They teased fans over a seven month period in a tactic that is known as a slow burn.
Bryan had to fight against adversity despite the growing discontent in arenas all around the world. In the end WWE played it pitch perfect and gave Bryan the fitting sendoff of sorts at WrestleMania XXX as they put the WWE World Heavyweight Championship on him.

Smackdown was taped this week from Laredo, Texas. The show started with an in-ring promo from heel supremo Seth Rollins, who was flanked by Jamie Noble and Joey Mercury. The segment was interrupted by a big pop for the emergence of Roman Reigns, with the Big Dog proceeding to challenge Rollins. He chased the heels out of the ring, only for The Big Show to come out from the back. It was announced that Show would team with Rollins against Reigns and a partner in the main event. Reigns had to find a partner.
Adam Rose faced Big E, with the big man accompanied by the New Day. Rose was doing the job, in a short and forgettable match.

We're less than three weeks away from the 2015 Royal Rumble, and there are a few things we know for certain: the Earth is round, gas is a volatile state and man once evolved from ape (or at least most of us accept that). As far as the WWE goes, not much is crystal clear. Fortunately, I'm here to lay bare the various happenings within pro-wrestling's most widely viewed promotion, by way of untangling three-plus hours of Monday night madness.
So without further pause, pregnant or otherwise, here are the five...

Rey Mysterio is set to return to WWE in the very near future, reports Steve Sims of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.
WWE has reportedly offered Mysterio a great deal to return to the company full time. Now, whether or not Mysterio, at his age and with his history of injuries, would want to come back full time is questionable.
But Rey has apparently had a change of heart about returning recently.
This change of heart could be down to the fact that the deal that WWE is offering Mysterio is said to be ‘the best he can get for the rest of his life’ and could include a reduced schedule of dates. WWE has realised that they need Mysterio since they don’t have a major Hispanic name for the Mexican market. Alberto Del Rio was released under a cloud of controversy in the summer and the ‘new...

WWE was taped this week from the Echo Arena in Liverpool, England. The crowd was nearly a sell-out, and it didn’t take long for the UK fans to make their voices heard.
Half an hour before bell time and all you could hear was “Cena sucks” chants (and many ruder variations). There was also a vocal chorus of “Cm Punk” chants. Despite all of this, Cena merchandise was selling well, with the usual contingent of women and children being the main market. At £16 for a flimsy Cena autographed card, you can see how WWE continue to find success in commercial avenues.
The tapings started with the ‘Superstars’ show. First up was Sin Cara defeating Curtis Axel in a basic match. All the usual flips and flops from Cara, but the crowd were firmly behind Axel.

The WWE has confirmed that the next Nxt live special will be called Nxt Takeover: Evolution. It will come from Full Sail University on December 11th and the main event will be Nxt Champion Adrian Neville defending against Sami Zayn.
What will be interesting about this, is it will be a career vs title match. Neville has been Champion since February of this year, so in all likelihood, we will be getting a new Champion. It probably means that Neville will debut on WWE’s main television shows in the near future. There’s also talk of Zayn being promoted to the big league soon. Whatever happens, Neville vs Zayn is going to be an absolutely excellent encounter. You need to watch this match.
Also on the card will be –
Nxt Women’s Title Match
Sasha Banks vs. Charlotte
Nxt Tag Team Title Match
Aiden English and Simon Gotch vs.

It’s something that’s tough to explain unless you lived through it. Monday nights in the late 90s were to wrestling fans what Sundays are to Christians. It was borderline sensory overload with the amount of wrestling presented. For many who followed wrestling during the Monday Night Wars, Monday evenings often meant either loading a tape into the Vcr to record WCW Nitro while watching WWF Raw (or vice-versa), or having a remote control welded to their hands and flipping back and forth furiously.
And if you ask any wrestling fan who watched both WWF and WCW during the Monday Night Wars about dream matches, you will probably get an earful. Both promotions were loaded with top talent and solid undercard performers who were capable of putting on a quality match. Personalities were larger than life and captured fans’ attention. Welcome to this week’s results and review write up of WWE Raw, the flagship show of the biggest sports entertainment company in the world.
So, tonight is a special “Slammy Awards” themed Raw, with awards being given out throughout the evening in a variety of categories, including “Superstar of the Year”, “Rookie of the Year”, “Diva of the Year” and “Match of the Year”. So let’s get going shall we?
The show begins, live from Washington, with local boy, and most-over guy in WWE, Daniel Bryan, making his way to the ring to a monster pop and thousands of “yes” chants from the fans in attendance. His opponent tonight is the dancing, silk shirt wearing, former Johnny Curtis, Fandango, who is accompanied by the lovely Summer Rae. The match isn’t a long one, but allows both men to get some offence in before the inevitable victory of Bryan.

Welcome to this week’s results and review of WWE Raw. The first Raw of December is under way.
The show opens with “Cult of Personality” by Living Colour playing and Cm Punk making his way down the aisle and to the squared circle as we see a replay of The Shield attacking Punk last week. Punk grabs a microphone and questions why The Shield might have attacked him last Monday night. He said last week he questioned Triple H, which is obviously why he was attacked by Triple H’s “boys” last week. Punk says he doesn’t want anything to do with The Authority. Punk says he prides himself on being one of the “biggest anti-authority guys” in WWE history. Stephanie McMahon’s music cuts Punk off and she makes her way to the stage area with a smile across her face. Stephanie says that she hoped Punk...

Hosted by The Miz, the compilation features every Money in the Bank Ladder Match in history. The match debuted at WrestleMania 21 in 2005, quickly becoming a WrestleMania tradition and in 2010 proved so popular that it was given its own annual PPV event. Several top Superstars have been Money in the Bank winners including John Cena, Kane, Edge, Cm Punk (twice!), Rob Van Dam and many more. 11 of the first 12 winners have used the match as a springboard to winning a championship, and several times the match has helped a Superstar who has never win a World Championship break through to claim their first. Much like the Royal Rumble Match, the Money in the Bank match represents a golden opportunity for a Superstar to achieve immortality, and its entire lineage is presented here.
It is nice to see this match receive its own box-set release. The “Money in the Bank” concept...

As of right now, Tna is in a period of disarray. Wrestlers, including big time stars like Rob Van Dam and Mr Anderson, are going by the wayside, and plans of introducing Bellator’s Mma stars to the program backfired massively when Bellator took them off the show.
And now, more and more Tna wrestlers are being linked with a jump to the big dogs in the yard. Hulk Hogan is just one of many rumoured to be signing for the WWE in the near future. One in particular has been speculated about ever since details of his expiring contract broke on the internet…Aj Styles.
Aj Styles, as far as I’m concerned, is Mr. Tna. Since day one, he’s been with the company and his career has been like a massive yoyo. Constantly, Aj has been in and out of the main event picture at the company in the Asylum,...

WWE and 2K Games have finally made the long-awaited roster announcement for their upcoming WWE 2K14 video game, boasting a surprisingly beefy line-up of over 80 superstars. In addition to the 30 Years of WrestleMania roster already announced, we were given a full list of the WWE Superstars and Divas who would be filling out 2K Games’ first time publishing a wrestling game (albeit still with the same developers as before, Yukes).
It’s safe to say that, as in every year, there are a few notable omissions from the roster – Curtis Axel, Rob Van Dam, Big E. Langston, The Usos, Fandango, and the Wyatt Family are conspicuously absent, while the likes of David Otunga somehow make the cut… – yet we can keep our fingers crossed that they might show up in Dlc somewhere down the line (though developers have already stated on Twitter that the Wyatts will 100% not be Dlc, because...

WWE's annual "Night of Champions" show has arrived, and there is one person noticeably missing from the card. After losing the WWE Championship at "SummerSlam" in August, John Cena is on the shelf, recovering from injury. That's why Triple H, acting as the new evil corporate honcho, has christened Randy Orton as WWE Champion and the new face of the company.
The show is headlined by Daniel Bryan getting his WWE Title rematch against Orton, after weeks of insults and attacks by the extended McMahon family. Now's the time for the company to show they actually have faith in Bryan being the top guy for a while. It only seems fair as he's one of the most talented wrestlers on the planet and arguably the most popular one at the moment.
The scheduled card for the show is below:Randy Orton vs. Daniel Bryan for the WWE ChampionshipCM Punk vs.

The cruiserweight division had a very hard long struggle to become a global wrestling success. It started off in the form of lucha libre, perfected and showcased in the likes of Mexico by the likes of the legendary Mil Mascaras. The form was developed on in various different countries like Japan before the high-flying cruiserweights were introduced to America, through the ever-so-daring Ecw.
With the likes of Rey Mysterio and Juventud Guerrera having high-flying, explosive matches that put American audiences on the edge of their seats, the cruiserweight division was further established by WCW and eventually was widely accepted as the replacement for the tried-and-tested Light-Heavyweight division. Eventually, this high-flying style made its way to WWE after the WWE bought-out WCW and their talent, with the likes of Billy Kidman and Tajiri being introduced to the WWE audience. However, after the Cruiserweight Championship’s prestige was hugely damaged by poor...

There’s no doubt there was a lot of outrage on the internet following the conclusion of WWE SummerSlam. There were a lot of questions with Triple H, Randy Orton and Daniel Bryan as Raw rolled into Anaheim. In the city of the Anaheim Angels, was there a devil on the shoulder of The Game? What’s next for John Cena and is Daniel Bryan’s big push over? About a month ago, I asked the question is Daniel Bryan the new Stone Cold Steve Austin? Judging from this weeks episode It definitely seems like that’s the case. While he may not swearing or lewd he seems to be set up to be the main protagonist against the new McMahon-Helmsley regime.
The show begins with John Cena who comes out and explains that he is just as disgusted by the actions of Triple H. Cena says that Bryan deserves to be champion.

Since their debut in November 2012, The Shield has definitely changed the landscape of the WWE. Rollins, Reigns and Ambrose have brought justice to the developmental system by making first impressions all the more important. However, in recent weeks, it seemed the three have taken a backseat to other storylines and showed vulnerability piling up losses. This week justice looks to be a priority again on this week’s Main Event and Nxt.
Let’s start with the first of two appearances on this weeks edition of The Main Event. The show begins with a six man tag rematch from last week’s Monday Night Raw as the Usos and Mark Henry battle The Shield. Really solid opening contest with good back and forth between the two trios. The babyfaces start off really hot dominating until the first commercial break and then it switches as the Hounds of Justice take control.

The WCW was a promotion full of misused talent, the older stars kept the younger stars from blossoming into their full potential, However, there are many examples of WCW talent being misused in WWE, such as Dean Malenko, Ultimo Dragon, Scott Steiner and Perry Saturn, who were all misused in Vince McMahon’s company.
Yet despite this, there are a few examples of WCW talent reaching high levels of success in the WWE. So without further ado, I ask you to cast your eye over these WCW success stories.
5. Rey Mysterio
Rey Mysterio made his name in Mexico fighting the likes of Juventud Guerrera and Psicosis in fresh and innovative matches, emerging as the main draw of an influx of Mexican superstars coming over to the States to make a name and some money for themselves. Since his debut in 2008, Sheamus has run roughshod over the WWE. The Celtic Warrior has used his overwhelming power and unmatched will and determination to get a boot up on all obstacles. However, in the last week, thanks to the wounds of The Money in the Bank the man formerly known as the Irish curse seemed to have found a blessing in a bruise giving him some much-needed vulnerability. This week’s Main Event and Nxt illustrates the two sides of the same Fella. Let’s break down the difference by recapping the Main Event first.
The Main Event began as the Irish import battled “The Real American” Jack Swagger in a really good match. Swagger did a great job working the leg creating drama in the match. Quite frankly that match is the best Jack has looked in some time. I like the psychology of this. It does wonders for Sheamus as a babyface.

On the eve of Independence Day here in the Us, WWE gave us there Stars & Stripes editions of Nxt and the Main Event. The two-hour block showcase some Real Americans battling for pride in their country and chasing the American dream of championships and briefcases. As always, let’s begin with the Main Event.
We begin the night’s festivities by introducing tonight’s announce team the returning son of the “American Dream” Cody Rhodes and Josh Matthews. Another solid showing from Rhodes in the booth. Especially in the opening match of the night featuring his best friend Damien Sandow as he goes against Christian.
Christian makes his entrance first to a mixed reaction as Sandow comes out cutting a promo calling his opponent a troglodyte. Sandow also added a quote from a great man, Damien Sandow saying, “in the Valley of the Stupid, the half-wit is king”. The enlightened...

Sometimes in life good and bad things come in threes. Luckily for us this week, WWE has been on the good side of things with programming and the trend continued into the Main Event and Nxt. Let’s begin with the Main Event from my old stomping ground of Dayton, Ohio and the Nutter Center.
The number three is quite prevalent at the beginning of the show. Not only is our opening the featured contest a six tag but we have the return of the three-man booth. Let me discuss that for a minute, I thought the pairing of Cody Rhodes, the Miz and in Matthews worked well together. This trio had great chemistry and gave great insight to the matches. Further showing that commentary so is important to the overall aesthetic to the product and how it’s sometimes a detriment in the wrong context.

Last night’s Raw had quite the task to live up to after the excellent Payback pay-per-view in Chicago. With great matches and subtle storyline moments would the WWE deliver a good episode of Raw in Grand Rapids, Michigan? I believe for the most part that happened except for a few minor annoyances in my opinion.
The show began with the very over the top Alberto del Rio mugging to the fans with a chorus of boos echoing the arena much like the night before. Del Rio gets more and more agitated. Alberto justifies his reasoning for attacking Dolph’s head during the match needs back to when Ziggler won the title. Adr feels completely justified the fact that Dolph caught him when he was injured. I like this because it makes sense. Alberto continues to say that the fans turned their backs on him when he’s done everything...

This week will be no exception as we have the greatness of two Englishman behind the booth in Wade Barrett and William Regal. The United Kingdom definitely made a world of difference in how the product was presented on both programs. Let’s begin looking at this week’s edition of Main Event.
Just a few days away from Payback in Chicago, there was definitely a wind of change on commentary this week. The three-man booth of Ricardo Rodriguez, the Miz and John Matthews of the last few weeks was dropped (no surprise there) in favor of guest commentator Intercontinental champion, Wade Barrett alongside Josh Matthews.. Former WWE tag team champion Evan Bourne returned to action this week at a Nxt house show in Tampa, Florida defeating the man formerly known as El Generico a.k.a. Sammy Sane.
Bourne, who has had been missing in action for over a year following a sixty day wellness violation from the use of synthetic weed a.k.a. “spice” and a subsequent car crash that broke his ankle in five places. Hands up if you remember the WCW Invasion angle back when WWE owner Vince McMahon bought the failing company back in 2001. Now hands up if you were happy with the way Vince and co. handled the whole storyline. Not many of you I’ll bet. What could easily have been the biggest angle in the history of professional wrestling turned into a massive vanity project for the company’s head honcho who outright refused to see those boys from “Dubbya See Dubbya” get the better of any of his creations. It was a huge mistake.
A decade has passed since the horrible Invasion PPV and no one cares to discuss it. Plenty of ex-wcw guys recovered from the failed Invasion (Booker T for example) but many more just faded away into obscurity or simply did not take part (Kevin Nash, Hulk Hogan, Goldberg, Sting). Mark Henry’s triumphant return to WWE this year was one of the most hotly anticipated comebacks in recent professional wrestling history. Henry had been in the midst of his most successful and entertaining heel run ever when he found himself on the injured list at a time when WWE were planning on having him appear at WrestleMania 28 as World Heavyweight champion. After spending most of 2012 as a press ambassador and plenty of talk over retirement, it was unclear if Henry would ever return.
After an absence of almost a year Henry made his return on the February 4th, 2013 edition of Monday Night Raw, destroying Daniel Bryan, Rey Mysterio and Sin Cara without breaking a sweat. Henry’s subsequent attacks on the WWE roster were so brutal in fact that he started to receive a babyface reaction from some crowds although WWE chose to ignore them.

As yet another surgery faces the masked marvel known as Rey Mysterio the rumour mill has kicked in to action and according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter this could spell the end once and for all for the former World Heavyweight Champion.
Mysterio’s career – which started at the age of 14 – has been plagued by injury ever since his days as a top Cruiserweight in WCW, a downside to the type of style he wrestles. In recent years he has become somewhat more grounded with his ring work but has still pulled off high risk manoeuvres whenever possible perhaps further aggravating his list of nagging injuries.

Survivor Series is one of WWE’s top pay-per-view’s, along with Wrestlemania, Royal Rumble and Summerslam, and with good reason – it is officially WWE’s second longest running PPV having debuted in 1987 and still conitiuing to be as relevant today as it was then. Survivor Series 2012 marks the 26th annual show of the PPV and was headlined by one of the biggest matches of the year as the WWE’s longest reigning champion, fan-favourite Cm Punk, defended his title in a Triple Threat match against former champion John Cena and man-monster Ryback.
But Survivor Series is not just about the main event. As is tradition, the 2012 event sees not one but Two five-on-five matches – the eponymous “survivor series” matches of the title. First up is a “bonus” 5-on-5 Survivor Series elimination match featuring Team Mysterio (Rey Mysterio, Sin Cara, Brodus Clay, Justin Gabriel and Tyson Kidd) versus Team Prime Time Players (Tensai,...

Incredibly Survivor Series 2012 is the 26th annual slamfest to go under this name, and since its inception in 1987 when teams led by Andre The Giant and Hulk Hogan faced off against each other, it has been one of the big four pay per view (PPV) events for WWE along with Royal Rumble, SummerSlam and of course, Wrestlemania.
The unique selling point of Survivor Series has always been the emphasis on tag teams and SS2012, held at the Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana is no exception, kicking off with a traditional five-on-five elimination match. between a team featuring Brodus Clay, International Airstrike (Tyson Kidd and Justin Gabriel), and masked luchadores Rey Mysterio and Sin Cara and a team featuring Tensai, the wonderfully named Colon Cousins (Primo and Epico) and the Prime Time Players (Darren Young and Titus O’Neil).

There are many styles in professional wrestling. There are the high flying antics of the likes of Rey Mysterio, Sin Cara and Aj Styles. There’s the hardcore style made popular by legends such as Terry Funk, Sabu and Mick Foley. Bradshaw and Wade Barrett are examples of brawlers, whilst guys like The Ultimate Warrior, Goldberg and Ryback are the power wrestlers who use brute strength alone to defeat opponents. Every style has its attributes over the others, but today we are going to examine a single style and that is the technical style of wrestling.
Technical wrestlers are those who have a varied catalogue of moves and holds. They are the expert submission wrestlers and also have a large arsenal of moves and counters to out wrestle any of the other styles. Over the years the WWE has seen the greatest wrestlers of all time, and many of them...

Jack Swagger’s triumphant return continues with an easy win over Justin Gabriel. I love Swagger but have to agree with a reader comment from last week, he does look...

Ugghh. That is my immediate reaction to last night’s episode of Raw. I don’t know what it was but the show seemed to drag on longer than normal. I knew that I was going to be reviewing the episode today so I kept tuned in for as long as I could, hoping that something interesting was going to happen. That never really happened. After last week’s post Rumble Raw, it seemed like the WWE was fine with just ho-humming through another week of programming as we continue towards the Elimination Chamber PPV and ultimately Wrestlemania. This review won’t be all negative though, as there were a few bright spots (emphasis on few) sprinkled in.
Opening Segment: Cm Punk Promo
Last night’s Raw opened the same way most Raw’s do, with Cm Punk coming out and talking about the championship. Cm Punk wasn’t as...

What’s big, mean, nasty and wears a unitard? The World’s Strongest Man that’s what. Mark Henry rolled back onto Raw looking meaner than ever, taking apart Rey Mysterio and Sin Cara in short (pun intended) order. Some of Henry’s thunder was lost though because of last week’s surprise return so it would have made more sense to have Henry return at the Royal Rumble, or maybe even Elimination Chamber PPV.
With Henry a former World Heavyweight Champion my concerns for Jack Swagger making it to Elimination Chamber have resurfaced. If Henry must destroy anyone then please make sure it’s Khali. He looked bigger than ever too!
Speaking of Swagger he squashed Santino in about 10 seconds. Nothing to get excited about but to be fair 6 months ago Santino would have won this one.
I wonder if WWE realises how insignificant it makes Antonio Cesaro look...

Stop the press! Jack Swagger is back! Is there any bigger news this year than that? Screw the wacky Rock/Punk finish at the Rumble, the All American American’s surprise return is the biggest news so far this year (maybe) and was as awesome as it was unexpected. So unexpected in fact that many of us were left wondering how quickly he would be discarded during the show. Amazingly after all was said as done Swagger was still in the running to be contender for Alberto Del Rio’s World Heavyweight Title and he had also beat Kofi Kingston by submission. Let’s hope WWE don’t drop the ball with this brilliant young man again.
Other contenders were revealed as part of the Elimination Chamber match too. Sheamus, Randy Orton, Kane, Daniel Bryan and, erm, The Great Khali will join Swagger in the number one contender match. I...

After all the pomp and circumstance of last month, with the New Year’s celebration and Raw’s twentieth birthday, it’s finally time to lock in on the Royal Rumble this Sunday. Possibly the WWE’s most exciting event, the mad grab for titles of late will take a backseat as thirty of the WWE’s superstars will take to the ring with the hope of punching a ticket to the WrestleMania main event.
The Rumble will also feature one of the most anticipated matches in recent memory as The People’s Champion, The Rock, will make his return to the ring after a ten month hiatus, challenging the enigmatic and adored Cm Punk for his WWE Title. Whatever happens in Phoenix this Sunday, the WWE fans are sure to be in for a thrilling ride. With that in mind, it’s time to make some bold predictions about...
