A man who appeared on Discovery Channel’s popular fishing reality series Deadliest Catch has been arrested in Florida.
Erik James Brown of ‘Deadliest Catch’ arrested
Erik James Brown was arrested March 9 on Stock Island in the Florida Keys, Local 10 News reported. He is facing two counts of probation violation, according to arrest records from the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office. An arraignment is scheduled for April 1.
This is not the first time the 40-year-old Brown has been in trouble with the law. In 2020, he was arrested twice for domestic battery against his 20-year-old girlfriend, the Key West Citizen reported. In 2018, he was charged after police discovered him growing 25 marijuana plants on a houseboat, per the News-Press. Stars: Scott Adkins, Waleed Elgadi, Tom Berenger, Meena Rayann, Michael Jai White, Aaron Toney | Written by Jamie Russell | Directed by James Nunn
Not only is One More Shot filmed with the illusion of being one long take like its predecessor 2021’s One Shot, it does something more important. It reunites director James Nunn and writer Jamie Russell with the previous film’s leads, Scott Adkins as Navy Seal Jake Harris and Waleed Elgadi as terrorist Amin Mansur.
Following the events of the first film, Harris is escorting Mansur back to the US where they plan to get him to reveal the whereabouts of a dirty bomb set to explode during the State of the Union Address, which the President, of course, refuses to postpone. For leverage, CIA Agent Marshall has brought Mansur’s pregnant wife Niesha to meet his plane. But they’re not the only ones there to meet the flight.

Watching a Navy Seal single-handedly take on a coach-load of mercenaries requires more than a little suspension of disbelief in this soulless sequel
A faint whiff of spoof hangs over this all guns blazing action thriller set in an airport where a military jet has landed with a terrorist on board. Inside the terminal, spooks in black suits woodenly bark homeland security jargon at each other: “Prepare for the evacuation of the asset!” The movie already feels faintly ridiculous, then in stomps martial arts actor Scott Adkins. He plays Jake Harris, a super-tough Navy Seal escorting the terrorist. And the thing about Harris is he’s unkillable; fling him over a balcony or karate chop him in the neck, and up he pops again, knife in hand, ready to stab another bad guy in the throat.

"You can't stop this. It's too big." Sony Pictures has revealed an official trailer for an action thriller sequel titled One More Shot, which will be out direct-to-video (and on VOD) in a few weeks. This action-packed high-octane thriller continues right where One Shot left off - it's a sequel to that one-long-take movie, using that same real time action gimmick all over again. Following the attack on the black site in Poland, Navy Seal Jake Harris is ordered to escort terrorist suspect Amin Mansur to Washington D.C for interrogation. As they're chased through the airport terminal by ruthless terrorists, Harris will have to use all his battle-honed skills to survive. Scott Adkins returns to star as Harris; he's joined by Michael Jai White, Tom Berenger, Meena Rayann, and Alexis Knapp. This trailer doesn't confirm if it actually is one-long-take again, but the countdown time seems to indicate they're...

Deadliest Catch fans have seen many captains and crew members come and go since it premiered in 2005. Some have made a bigger impression than others, including Phil Harris, one of the show’s most memorable cast members. The captain of the F/V Cornelia Marie was a fixture on the Discovery Channel series in its early seasons, but he died suddenly in 2010 at the age of 53.
After Harris’ death, his sons Jake Harris and Josh Harris took over the family fishing business. Their efforts to carry on their late father’s legacy were chronicled on Deadliest Catch. But both Josh and Jake have since left the show. Josh’s exit came after some disturbing information about his past resurfaced in 2022, but Jake left Deadliest Catch much earlier.

Discovery Channel’s reality series Deadliest Catch has been going strong for 19 seasons. The show, which follows fishermen as they head out into the harsh Bering Sea to hunt for crab, has also spawned several spinoffs, including Deadliest Catch: Dungeon Cove, Deadliest Catch: The Viking Returns, and Deadliest Catch: Bloodline. The latter followed two Deadliest Catch cast members – Josh Harris and Casey McManus – as they fished Hawaii’s Kona Coast. But the show, which premiered in 2020, is no longer available to stream on discovery+ and likely won’t return for season 4. Here’s why.

Fishing is a family business for many of the people who appear on Deadliest Catch. But carrying on that legacy can be difficult and dangerous. Perhaps it’s no surprise that Captain Phil Harris, who appeared on the Discovery Channel reality series until his death in 2010, urged his son to give up crabbing.

If the Discovery Channel was angling for a hit show, then they hauled it in with the “Deadliest Catch,” which premiered in 2005 and has aired every year since.
The documentary series, narrated by Mike Rowe, follows crab fishermen and crab boats as they ply their dangerous and sometimes deadly trade in the Bering Sea during the Alaskan king crab and snow crab fishing seasons. The base for the crab fleet is the Aleutian Islands port of Dutch Harbor, Alaska.
Through the years of the TV show’s airing, it has proven popular around the globe, making the skippers, their crewman, and their boats, celebrities in their own right.
This year’s season, which kicks off with a two-hour premiere on April 19, finds the crews of nine crab vessels trying to cope with the Alaskan government shutting down red king crab catching for the season. You’ll also find them contending with the usual treacherous seas,...

One Shot is both the title of the new Scott Adkins film, it’s also the film’s gimmick and reason for being made in the first place. Director James Nunn, working from a script by Jamie Russell, has given us a feature-length action film shot in one continuous take.
Needless to say, One Shot keeps the plotting to a minimum. CIA operative Zoe Anderson has been assigned to bring terrorist Amin Mansur (Waleed Elgadi; Agatha and the Curse of Ishtar) from a Black Site to the US for questioning. The base’s commander Jack Yorke doesn’t think that’s a good idea and is refusing to release him.

“He is our one shot to fix this thing,” junior CIA analyst Zoe Anderson says during “One Shot,” and somewhere an angel got its wings, the happy result of not only the film’s title being uttered in dialogue, but its very gimmick as well.
Zoe is trying to retrieve information from a detainee on a CIA black site island prison — the only one left, she’s proudly told upon arrival — though she’s remarkably cagey about what she needs and why she needs it handled in Washington, DC. Perhaps she’d have been more forthcoming had she known her visit would coincide with Jihadists after the same man, and more than willing to slaughter anyone who gets in their path. Luckily for her — and for that detainee, Mansur — they luckily happen to have as their guide Navy Seal Lt. Jake Harris, as accomplished a marksman as he is in hand-to-hand combat,...

There’s a whole lot of ammo going blammo over the course of “One Shot,” an action movie couched as a battle in real time between Navy SEALs and insurgents on a U.S.-controlled, Guantanamo-style island detention facility, presented in what appears to be a single, continuous shot.
Of course, as in other recent films like “Birdman” and “1917,” the “real time” is an illusion created by hard-to-detect editing together of several long, elaborately blocked individual shots — this movie was shot in 20 days, not 90 minutes. Still, director James Nunn’s reunion with star Scott Adkins does effectively use that device to heighten immediacy in an effort that may not transcend their usual B-grade, adrenaline-fueled macho fare, but does bring some welcome novelty to the genre.

There are a lot of biopics that people would love to see made and one on Willie Nelson seems to be at least midway to the top of a lot of lists such as the one created by Jake Harris of Wide Open Country. He’s certainly had the kind of career that people agree is worth mentioning since he’s been around long enough to have gained the kind of notoriety that some people strive for and others tend to want to avoid. You might remember Jake Harris from the television show Deadliest Catch. For a number of years, he was on the fishing vessel Cornelia Marie with his older brother Josh and dad Phil. At the time, his dad was a legend in the crab fishing industry. Appearing on Deadliest Catch only elevated his status in the eyes of people that knew nothing about fishing as well. Unfortunately, you might also remember that Phil Harris passed away several years ago. Since that time, Jake Harris has struggled with a lot of different issues. With Deadliest Catch Season 14 in full swing, you might have noticed that Captain Josh Harris’ brother, Jake Harris, has yet to make a return to the series. As it turns out, it’s all for the best. In an interview with Yahoo, Josh explained that his brother is “doing better,” and “working on getting things fixed in his personal life.” What things, you ask? Plenty! For about a two-year stretch, the 32-year-old had a string of bad luck that nearly cost him his freedom — and his life. According to Inquisitr, it all began in 2016 when Jake had a dangerous encounter with a pair of thieves who ended up brutally assaulting him and leaving him to die on the side of the freeway. Jake sustained several serious head injuries and ended up in the ICU. (Photo Credit: Getty Images) Shortly thereafter, after being accused of stealing a female friend’s car,...

He said that his brother suffered a cracked skull and “some brain trauma” during the attack after being beaten and thrown from a moving vehicle along the freeway. Harris also identified two of the alleged attackers, warning fans to “stay away from them.

Before there was a "Deadliest Catch" on Discovery Channel, there was the F/V Cornelia Marie, and the woman for whom it was named, Cornelia Marie Devlin. After receiving ownership of the boat following a divorce, she partnered with the late Capt. Phil Harris and set out to fish for crab in Alaska's Bering Sea.
The rest is maritime, and reality-tv, history.
After Harris' death from complications of a stroke in early 2010, the future of the boat became uncertain. Harris' sons and heirs -- older brother Josh Harris and younger brother Jake Harris -- and Devlin put the boat to sea in the fall for king-crab season, under the leadership of Phil Harris' friend Capt. Derrick Ray, but the trip devolved into chaos and near-mutiny.
Capt. Tony Lara took the boat out for opilio-crab season in early 2011, and things went more smoothly.

Since the beginning, former "Dirty Jobs" star Mike Rowe has narrated Discovery's crab-fishing docu-series "Deadliest Catch," airing Tuesdays. In reading narration week after week, he's learned a few facts about the boats out on Alaska's Bering Sea.
But, it seems Rowe doesn't know quite enough to please Andy Hillstrand, the co-captain (with brother Johnathan) of the F/V Time Bandit -- and a little Twitter dust-up ensued between @mikeroweworks and @capt_andy.
Rowe fired back at Hillstrand's assertion, made on Twitter in response to a fan's comment, that he "doesn't know s***," with this video. (Nsfw language, as you might expect.)
Then Hillstrand answered with a video of his own, schooling Rowe on the ins and outs of boats and current and former deckhands -- in particular Jake Anderson, Josh Harris and Jake Harris.

In May of 2012, deckhand Jake Anderson, until recently part of the crew of the crab-boat F/V Northwestern, featured on Discovery's Tuesday reality hit "Deadliest Catch," married sweetheart Jenna Patterson in a ceremony officiated by Northwestern Capt. Sig Hansen.
Ever since Anderson came on the Northwestern years ago as a fresh-faced greenhorn, he's looked up to Hansen as a mentor. After his own father's disappearance in 2010 -- Keith Anderson's remains were found in 2012 -- Hansen also became like a surrogate father to Anderson.
Early in 2013, Anderson left the Northwestern to pursue his ambition to be a crab-boat captain by working aboard the F/V Kiska Sea, owned by Aleutian Spray Fisheries. But that doesn't mean he's cut ties with his old skipper.
In the past, Anderson has been known to do chores around the Hansen home near Seattle, Wash., and not much has changed. Only now, instead of mowing lawns,...

In July 2012, the remains of Keith Anderson, father of Jake Anderson, until recently a deckhand on the crab-fishing boat F/V Northwestern, were found in the forests of Washington State.
The elder Anderson had been missing for more than two years, and fans of Discovery's Tuesday-night reality hit "Deadliest Catch" had watched Anderson struggle through, first, the premature death of his beloved sister, and then his father's disappearance.
So, when Jake Anderson -- who just got married the previous May -- went back to work on Northwestern on Alaska's Bering Sea last fall for blue-crab season, he may not have been in the best place mentally. After an on-deck dispute, he started throwing punches at fellow longtime deckhand Matt Bradley.
This got him in hot water with blue-crab Capt. Edgar Hansen, and with the boat's regular skipper, Edgar's older brother -- and Anderson's mentor -- Sig Hansen. At the same time,...

Jake Anderson was living with his big decision to leave the Northwestern after five years on "Deadliest Catch." What he learned pretty quickly on his new boat, the Kiska-Sea, was that his previous experience on the Northwestern didn't really count for anything with his new crew.
The guys were giving him plenty of jabs -- razzing the new guy -- and he was struggling a little bit with his new situation. He was going to have to earn respect on this new boat.
He chatted with his old friend Ed Hansen about it. Hansen told him, "Just be you man. One day it’ll turn. I promise, it will."
“Thanks bro. That’s really encouraging," Jake said. "It really settles my stomach talking to ya. I love ya.”

On Tuesday's episode of “Deadliest Catch,” Jake Anderson made the emotional decision to walk off the Northwestern after being offered another job that would have him running his own boat in as little as two years.
Jake said he was “scared as hell” to leave the boat he had grown up on, and that breaking the news to Captain Sig was the "hardest thing."
“But I have to move forward. I have to," he told Sig. “I love you like a dad. It f***ing breaks my God d*** heart to leave.”
“Alright, you gotta do what you gotta do, man," Sig said, shaking Jake's hand.
The men of the Northwestern were pretty quiet on social media during and after the episode, but viewers said they were sad to see Jake go.
Facebook fans thought Jake was making a mistake, but understood that he wanted to pursue his dreams.

Jake Anderson reached his boiling point on "Deadliest Catch," and then he snapped. He was feeling frustrated over his position on the Northwestern, worrying that he might never move up. Add to that the stress and exhaustion of a 20-hour shift on the cold, wet sea, and he was a powderkeg waiting to blow.
It happened when Matt, another member of the crew, criticized Jake's work. Jake responded by punching Matt. Some other guys broke up the fight, but Jake was still fired up.
When asked what the problem was, Jake responded, "He opened his mouth!” He tried to throw off the other guys who were trying to diffuse the situation. "Stay the f*ck away from me," he insisted. "This is none of your business!”
This isn't the first time Jake and Matt have fought, either. Five years ago they came to blows and were given an ultimatum:...

In case you ever wondered whether the crab fishermen of Discovery's Tuesday-night reality hit "Deadliest Catch" are now living Kardashian-style lives and hiring other people to do the dirty work, wonder no more.
"I'm in the wheelhouse," Edgar Hansen, deckboss of the F/V Northwestern, tells Zap2it. "We're in the shipyard. We're doing all the boat maintenance. We've got engines torn apart, cranes off."
Told that TV stars should have people to handle this for them, Hansen laughs.
"Oh, no," he says, "you should see me right now. I'm covered in grease and paint chips. We're trying to get it all done by June 2, to go after salmon. We do that in June, July and August. We're a little nervous about it, but whatever, it'll come together."
Hansen's older brother, Sig Hansen, is captain of the huge white Northwestern, one of the top boats in Alaska's Bering Sea fishing fleet.

Even in an industry used to wild weather and physical peril, this past opilio-crab season on Alaska's Bering Sea was one for the books. So says Johnathan Hillstrand, co-captain of the F/V Time Bandit, one of the crab-fishing fleet featured on "Deadliest Catch," airing a new season Tuesdays on Discovery.
"It's ugly," Hillstrand tells Zap2it. "There are a lot of injuries. It's just part of our job, but it looks pretty bad. They didn't have cameras on every boat, but the first two days of opie season, two guys lost their legs out there.
"I don't know if Discovery caught it on the Coast Guard end, but one of the boats that was on the show last year, the Kodiak, a guy got his leg crushed. We had ice and violent storms. Weather would come up, from southerly to northerly and back around to southerly, and the crab pots,...

Fans of brothers Jake and Josh Harris got an explanation as to why Jake wasn't in any of the promos for the new season of "Deadliest Catch" when they tuned in for the season premiere.
Josh explained that his brother was sidelined for the first king crab season in seven years. "My brother’s been going through issues. He’s lost in drugs still," he said. "Jake’s gotta take care of his own stuff right now. Deal with his demons."
Josh appeared to be battling his own demons as well, and it's a struggle that will likely play out throughout the rest of the season. He's frustrated that he's still not running his father, Phil Harris' boat.
"It’s very humbling. Just sitting’ here, for 2 1/2 years, working on this, trying to get the Cornelia [Marie] back," Josh said. He said that the boat his his family's legacy, as well as his heart and soul.

Tonight, Deadliest Catch returns for its ninth season on Discovery, and there is top-notch drama even before the fleet leaves Dutch Harbor. Here, courtesy of exec producer David Pritikin, is a tease of what’s to come.
• Elliott Neese is now his own boss: Fired from the Ramblin’ Rose in the offseason, the show’s youngest and most polarizing captain has gone more than $1 million in debt to buy his own boat, the F/V Saga. Most shocking perhaps: Seeing the pride in his father’s misty eyes may, at least for a moment, have you thinking you’ve misjudged Elliott.

Tonight (Tuesday, Aug. 7), Discovery Channel airs "Deadliest Catch: Behind the Scenes," the season 8 iteration of the annual special that shows what goes on behind the cameras capturing crab-fleet life on Alaska's Bering Sea.
Holding one of those cameras since the show's first season has been producer and cinematographer Todd Stanley (pictured above between Capt. Phil Harris, left, and his son, Josh Harris, right).
Asked what it takes to wield a camera aboard a crab boat in autumn and winter, Stanley says, "You gotta have a lot of grit. You have to have a lot of endurance. It's not easy spending long hours out there. ... It's not for everybody. The hours are long and grueling.
"I feel a lot of responsibility for the show. It's sort of my baby. I've been there since the beginning, before it was even called 'Deadliest Catch.' It's something that I take a lot of pride in.

Sig Hansen has been captain of the crab-fishing vessel Northwestern for almost 20 years, and he and his boat have starred on the Discovery Channel's Emmy-winning reality show "Deadliest Catch" for all 8 seasons. On the "Deadliest Catch" special, "After the Catch" (Tue., 10 p.m. Et on Discovery), stars of the show talked about what it's been like since they lost Captain Phil Harris.
Phil Harris died on February 9th, 2010 after suffering a massive stroke.
At his behest, the cameras kept rolling even in the hospital, and "Deadliest Catch" chronicled his final days, including his wrenching deathbed farewell to his sons, Jake and Josh.
Since their dad's untimely death, his sons have sometimes struggled to find their way, and "Deadliest Catch" producer, Sheila McCormack, spoke about those difficult days.
"They were lost. You know, Jacob especially," she said. When Jake came out of rehab he stayed with McCormack for a couple of weeks. "It was natural for me to do it," McCormack explained.
"And Phil would've wanted me to do that," she said, "and that’s what was important."

On Tuesday's (July 3) episode of Discovery's crab-fishing reality series "Deadliest Catch," newlywed F/V Northwestern deckhand Jake Anderson drives into a forested area in Skagit County, Wash., to the place where his father's 1999 Ford Ranger truck had been found on a logging road shortly after he disappeared in 2010.
Keith A. Anderson, a former Marine and high-school guidance counselor, took a trip to Snohomish County in January of that year, but never returned. Later reports indicated that he was intending to purchase OxyContin in a town about 100 miles away from where he lived in Anacortes, Wash.
