Airmiess Joseph Asghedom (August 15, 1985 - March 31, 2019), known professionally as Nipsey Hussle (often stylized as Nipsey Hu$$Le), was an American rapper. Emerging from the West Coast hip hop scene in the mid-2000s, Hussle independently released his first mix-tape, Slauson Boy Volume 1, to moderate local success, which led to him being signed to Cinematic Music Group and Epic Records.
His stage name was derived from comedian and actor Nipsey Russell.
When his mixtape "Crenshaw" (2013) came out, Nipsey Hussle sold it at $100 per mixtape and netted $100,000 in the first 24 hours! Jay-Z bought 100 copies to support.
On December 21, 2010, he released his first All Money In Records mixtape, titled "The Marathon", which features guest appearances from Kokane and MGMT.
On June 17, 2017, Nipsey inaugurated the "Marathon Clothing" store which he founded along with partners Carless, Civil, and his brother Samiel Asghedom.
Beyond hip hop music, Nipsey Hussle had made cameos in film and television including on the television series Crazy Ex-Girlfriend (2015).
