For many years as co-stars on Full House, Jodie Sweetin and Candace Cameron Bure literally saw eye-to-eye.
But when it comes to certain cultural topics facing society, most notably ongoing LGBTQ+ issues and debates, the actresses most certainly are Not on the same page.
Bure, for her part, has been labeled a very rude celebrity.
She’s also made it clear she’s against gay marriage.

Simply put, Sweetin does Not share these views.
But does that mean she hates Bure? That the two are openly feuding? Not talking?
“We’ve always been very different on those things,” Jodie explained on an April 28 episode of The Vault with Monica & Amir podcast. “I think it was just,...

Everywhere you look, everywhere you go, there’s a grown-ass adult asking a child if they find Uncle Jesse sexy.
There’s no questioning the fact that, out of all of the hotties and heartthrobs of 1990s television, John Stamos was in the upper echelon of family-friendliness during his time on the hit sitcom Full House. Playing the musically inclined, Elvis-obsessed, avuncular hunk Uncle Jesse, Stamos became one of those rare sex symbols who managed to maintain that perfect G-rating throughout his historic run as the subject of so many comedy lovers’ not-so-g-rated fantasies, in no small part because Uncle Jesse was so good with the girls — but not too good, not in a weird way that would give the Tanners and their friends uncomfortable ideas.

For Jodie Sweetin and Andrea Barber, it’s gross when people ask whether they ever had crushes on Full House costar John Stamos. The topic came up in the duo’s How Rude, Tanneritos! podcast as the two actors pondered whether they’d rather marry Stamos’ character from the show, Jesse Katsopolis, or Dave Coulier’s, Joey Gladstone. “This a weird question to answer,” observed Sweetin, who played Stephanie Tanner on the ABC sitcom. “I’m like, I don’t know, I wouldn’t marry either one of them because they’re like family, and it’s weird.” Barber, who played neighbor Kimmy Gibbler on the show, said, “It’s like when people ask us in media interviews, they’re like, ‘Did you ever have a crush on John Stamos?’ Like, that is a gross question. No! They’re like our older brothers. We do not think of them that way.

Jodie Sweetin and Andrea Barber are not fans of a frequent question they get about their Full House costar John Stamos.
If you didn’t now, Jodie played Stephanie Tanner on the show from 1987 to 1995, while Andrea played Kimmy Gibbler. Meanwhile, John famously played Uncle Jesse, and the three all reprised their roles in the revival Fuller House, which ran from 2016-2020.
On a recent episode of the rewatch podcast “How Rude, Tanneritos,” Jodie and Andrea explained why a remark they often receive about John makes them uncomfortable.

Full House stars Jodie Sweetin and Andrea Barber recently revealed which episode they believe is the worst in the show’s history. The two actresses, who played Stephanie Tanner and Kimmy Gibbler, discussed the topic on their podcast, How Rude, Tanneritos, and had no hesitation in choosing the season 1 episode “Sea Cruise.”
During their podcast discussion, Sweetin and Barber mentioned that “Sea Cruise” stood out as the worst episode of Full House. Although they considered other contenders, such as Michelle’s strange dream sequence in season 3’s Bye, Bye Birdie, they ultimately agreed that nothing was as bad as “Sea Cruise.”
Sweetin confidently stated, “I think the audience already knows the answer to the worst.“
Barber responded, “Oh, yeah. Should we start with the worst?“
The two then counted down together before saying in unison, “Sea Cruise!“
Barber emphasized her point, saying, “Easily the worst episode. I don’t think...

The entire premise of Full House is based on the kids’ mom dying. When Pam Tanner, mother to DJ, Stephanie and Michelle, is killed in a car accident, Danny Tanner enlists the help of his brother-in-law Jesse and best pal Joey to help him raise the girls. Baby Michelle would be too young to remember Mom, but what about DJ (10 years old!) and Stephanie (5)? You’d think the subject of their missing mom would come up once in a while, right?
Turns out Dead Mom Amnesia is a common complaint among Full House fans. Andrea Barber and Jodie Sweetin, who played Kimmy Gibbler and Stephanie Tanner on the show, say ignoring dead mothers doesn’t make sense to them either on a recent episode of their podcast, How Rude, Tanneritos!

Andrea Barber and Jodie Sweetin recently expressed their thoughts on Full House during a new “minisode” of their podcast, How Rude, Tanneritos. They discussed a fan’s unpopular opinion about the show, and both agreed with the sentiment.
The opinion in question was that the show should have explored the character of Pamela Tanner more.
Pamela, the mother of D.J., Stephanie, and Michelle, passed away before the events of Full House. Her absence was a significant part of the storyline, but her presence was minimal on the show.
Barber, who played Kimmy Gibbler, noted, ‘She’s talked about a little bit in season 1. We see a flashback or not the flashback, but we see the VHS tape.’ After that, the show hardly touched on her.
Sweetin, who played Stephanie Tanner, also wished there was more focus on Pamela. ‘It doesn’t need to be morbid or down,’ she said. ‘It would [be like] naturally,...

Considering the death of Pam Tanner kicked off the plot of Full House, why did the ABC sitcom ignore her absence for most of its eight-season run? Fans don’t know why, and, as it turns out, cast members Andrea Barber (Kimmy Gibbler) and Jodie Sweetin (Stephanie Tanner) don’t either. Barber and Sweetin discussed Pam’s short shrift during the February 20 “minisode” of their podcast, How Rude, Tanneritos!, as they reacted to Reddit users’ complaints about Full House. And one of the quibbles is that the show hardly mentioned Pam. As fans know, Pam welcomed daughters D.J. (Candace Cameron Bure), Stephanie, and Michelle (Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen) with husband Danny Tanner (Bob Saget) and died in an automobile accident before the events of Season 1. Following his wife’s death, Danny enlisted brother-in-law Jesse Katsopolis (John Stamos) and best friend Joey Gladstone (Dave Coulier) to help raise his kids. Barber...

Dave Coulier’s best-known role for many fans is arguably Joey Gladstone on Full House. Viewers of the late 1980s and early 1990s fell in love with the sitcom during its original run of eight seasons, which later inspired the Fuller House spin-off. Coulier recently looked back on the filming of the series’ pilot, even noting the elements he thought made it work.
Dave Coulier Said The Cast Wasn’t Sure What ‘Direction The Show’ Would Take
Coulier played Joey Gladstone on Full House from 1987 to the series’ cancelation in 1995. On the series, he played a young comedian who moves in with his widowed, childhood friend, Danny Tanner, and helps him and his brother-in-law Jesse raise Danny’s three daughters.
In addition, Coulier has had a prominent role as a comedian in real life and has often served as a voice actor, a talent he often showcased on Full House.

When it comes to sitcom thievery, Stephanie Tanner has nothing on her Uncle Jesse.
After the Fuller House revival ended its Netflix run, John Stamos made off with the blue-and-yellow loveseat that sat center stage for both the original Full House and its recent reboot. In 2020, Stamos shared an Instagram photo revealing the familiar couch repurposed as a road block at the top of a staircase. “Baby safety gate or one of the most iconic couches in pop TV history?” Stamos brazenly asked. “You make the call.”
When Fuller House ended, Jodie Sweetin wanted to swipe a piece of the show’s history as well. Furniture was tough to smuggle past the studio gates, so she set her sights on a smaller prize. “I took the head of that weird little statue that sat at the base of the stairs,” Sweetin told People. “I attempted to take the whole thing,...

Kimmy Gibbler's introduction of brother Jimmy in Fuller House added complexity to her family background. Jodie Sweetin offered an explanation for Kimmy's family dynamic, suggesting the Gibblers were a foster family.
Full Houses Kimmy Gibbler was known for a complicated family situation, but one characters introduction in the reboot Fuller House made her background more confusing. Jodie Sweetin and Andrea Barber were not fans of the Claire Tanner recast in Full House season 3. The actresses found the original portrayal by Alice Hirson as warm, while the recast to Doris Roberts was overbearing. Despite differing portrayals, both versions of Claire Tanner remain classic parts of the sitcom.
Full House stars Jodie Sweetin and Andrea Barber have explained why they were not fans of a major Tanner family recast, which happened during season 3 of the beloved sitcom. During the season 3 episode "Granny Tanny," Danny's mother Claire arrives for a visit, seeking purpose after finally retiring. “Doctor Dave,” a new medical drama series starring Dave Coulier, who played Joey Gladstone on the sitcom “Full House,” is in development from Dan Merchant’s Going Local Productions. Coulier and Merchant co-created.
Coulier plays Dave, “a beloved pediatrician who uses humor and compassion to care for his patients and for the diverse and eccentric ensemble of co-workers at a struggling Detroit hospital.”

Despite being considered part of the Tanner family, actor Dave Coulier's character Joey Gladstone was never officially referred to as "Uncle Joey" in Full House. The Mandela effect refers to false memories shared by a large group of people, and the misconception that Joey was called "Uncle Joey" is an example of this phenomenon. While Joey wasn't a blood relative to the Tanners, he played an important role in the family and was referred to as "Uncle Joey" by Jesse when talking to his twin sons.
For all eight seasons of Full House, actor-comedian Dave Coulier starred as Joey Gladstone, but despite being considered part of the Tanner family, he was never “Uncle Joey” like many viewers assumed him to be. John Stamos may have toured with The Beach Boys, had a terrific stint on ER and made a deal with the devil to look that good on the brink of 60, but he will always be Uncle Jesse to us. But as it turns out, John Stamos didn’t enjoy certain aspects of Full House, admitting that early on he did not have mercy on his co-stars – Michelle, Stephanie and D.J., that is.
On a recent episode of First We Feast’s Hot Ones, John Stamos remembered being heated when his younger Full House co-stars were getting the bulk of the attention. “I hated that show,” he said, before admitting, “Obviously, I ended up loving it.” The center of his problems came in the form of Jodie Sweetin, who played Stephanie Tanner. “[She] reads her lines [at a table read], and people are dying laughing, I mean screaming. Jodie Sweetin was the first actor to be cast in Full House, playing Stephanie Tanner. Even though John Stamos had an established career, he was not the first to be cast. Jeff Franklin was set on Sweetin as Stephanie from the beginning, based on her previous acting experience.

Full House star John Stamos appeared on the latest episode of Hot Ones, where he admitted to being upstaged by his former child co-star to the point where he almost quit. Stamos, who starred in the lead role as Jesse Katsopolis on the ABC sitcom, explained how Jodie Sweetin, who played Stephanie Tanner, stole the show during a table read. “We did a table read of it, and I was the star. I was coming off of General Hospital… big shot, you know, that kind of thing,” the actor explained. “And we sit down, and we start reading. And Jodie Sweetin, who plays Stephanie, reads her lines, and people are dying laughing, I mean screaming. I was like, ‘What’s happening here?’” Lorimer Telepictures / Courtesy: Everett Collection This came as a shock to Stamos, who said that the show was initially pitched to him as a more singular focus on his character,...

John Stamos recalls wanting to leave Full House because he was upstaged by a child actor. Playing Uncle Jesse in the cult family sitcom in the late '80s to the early '90s, he reprised the character in Netflix's spin-off sequel, Fuller House. As one of the beloved characters from the franchise, it's difficult to imagine Stamos not being attached to Full House, but as it turns out, he almost pulled out of the project.
Appearing on First We Feast to promote his upcoming memoir, If You Would Have Told Me, Stamos talks about how Full House was pitched to him, and how he didn't expect that a big part of being on the show was working with kids.
He shares the story of wanting to exit the series after being upstaged by Jodie Sweetin who played Stephanie Tanner. Read his full quote below:

Candace Cameron Bure has an iffy track record when it comes to the LGBTQ+ community. In the past, she’s been extensively criticized and accused by her peers of excluding queer people, while some have even gone so far as to publicly call her a “bigot.” Given all that, many assumed Bure was the person in question when actress and Fuller House guest star Miss Benny said on TikTok that “one of the Tanner sisters” advocated for the removal of the show’s first openly queer character (played by Miss...

Candace Cameron Bure is speaking out after Miss Benny claimed, in a TikTok video, that a castmember tried to have their character removed from Netflix’s Fuller House.
On Thursday, the Glamorous star, who played Casey, who they say was “the first gay character in the Full House franchise,” shared a video on TikTok, saying “one of the Tanner sisters” who was “very publicly not for the girls” tried to have their character removed.
“I remember I got sat down by the writers and the studio to basically warn me how this person allegedly was trying to get the character removed and not have a queer character on the show,” said Miss Benny, who came out as transgender last month. “I was also sort of warned and prepared that this person’s fan base might be encouraged to target me specifically.”

Miss Benny claims someone from the Fuller House main cast tried getting her character removed, but Candace Cameron-Bure denies the accusation. Playing performer Casey, Miss Benny's role was Kimmy's first high school intern. The character had a lot of potential, but after a couple of Fuller House episodes, Casey was never seen again in the Full House spinoff. In addition, Casey was the first openly-gay player in the Fuller House.
Taking it to her official TikTok, Miss Benny recalls her time in Fuller House and reveals that one of the main cast members tried having her role axed. Despite not dropping names in her video, Cameron-Bure releases a statement to Entertainment Tonight denying the claims. Read both of their quotes below:

Candace Cameron Bure is pushing back against an accusation that she asked for a queer character to be removed from “Fuller House,” the “Full House” sequel series that aired for five seasons and 75 episodes on Netflix between 2016 and 2020. Miss Benny, the current star of Netflix’s “Glamorous,” appeared in two episodes of “Fuller House” Season 4 as Casey, the franchise’s first openly queer character. Miss Benny recently posted a TikTok that heavily implied Bure was homophobic behind the scenes of “Fuller House.”
One of Miss Benny’s followers asked the star on TikTok, “Fuller house? Who was homophobic was it Candace?” Miss Benny responded in a TikTok that included #candacecure in the video description but did not verbally call her out by name. It appears Netflix’s “Glamorous” star, Miss Benny, is not too fond of how things folded out on set between her and one of her fellow “Fuller House” co-stars.

While crossover episodes might be a television staple, the worst of these cringe-worthy outings could leave viewers rushing to change the channel. Long before there were cinematic universes, interlinking multiverses, and arguments about canon events, the crossover episode was one of television’s earliest forays into meta-storytelling. Even though network television is (typically) opposed to risky storytelling strategies, many shows were willing to make an exception when it came to crossover episodes. It is not difficult to see why, as crossover episodes allowed networks to promote one show while viewers were watching another.
While television’s celebrity cameos were often simple ratings grabs, crossover events were a little bit smarter. These cultural moments allowed the two shows to promote each other simultaneously by introducing viewers to their characters. If someone who had never heard of Brooklyn Nine-Nine tuned in to New Girl’s crossover episode with the sitcom, this could...

Jodie Sweetin has become a Hallmark Channel star with six movies for the channel under her belt as of June 2023. Starting as a child actor, Sweetin played Stephanie Tanner in the late '80s–early '90s ABC sitcom Full House. As an adult, she is a jack of all trades. Sweetin is now an actress, mother, activist, author, and podcaster. She reprised her role as Stephanie in the sequel series Fuller House, which ran on Netflix from 2016 to 2020. She also branched out into TV movies, mostly performing as a romantic lead.
In 2017, the Hallmark Channel released its first movie starring Jodie Sweetin. She then worked with them every year up to the Covid-19 pandemic, and she picked back up with Hallmark in 2022. With a huge fan base, Hallmark knows how to make movies that their viewers will watch. Not every movie the Hallmark Channel and Sweetin made together shines as brightly as the others.

Amid a beloved ensemble cast, Jodie Sweetin was always perfect to play Stephanie in Full House. While it was never a critical darling, Full House gained recognition for showing the highs and lows of parenting from the perspectives of both the parents and the children. This made Full House relatable for a wide demographic and resulted in a nine-year run on ABC. Its narratives, however, would not have worked had it not been for an excellent cast. Interestingly, one actor did not go through the rigorous audition process to land their role because producers already knew they were perfect for a specific character.
When Full House ended after season eight, it seemed like the Tanners' story on the small screen had ended. Despite no longer working together, most actors maintained contact with each other, regularly holding mini-reunions. While it took a while to get a spinoff moving, it wasn't until...

When Fuller House wrapped in 2020, Andrea Barber explained to TV Insider that she would be glad to reprise her role as Kimmy Gibbler. The actor said, "I hope it’s not the last time I put on the bacon and egg scarf. I really want to play this character and see where she is and see her grow." Fans would definitely love a sixth season of the reboot.
Whether there will ever be more episodes or not, the characters of Fuller House are as happy and chatty as they were in the original '90s sitcom, and the new child characters are perfect additions. Some say the show is cheesy, but the characters' dialogue shows just how warm and lovable they are.

A house divided. A source tells Et that Candace Cameron Bure and Jodie Sweetin, who played sisters DJ and Stephanie Tanner on “Full House” and “Fuller House”, are in a “pretty serious” disagreement following the controversial remarks Bure made to WSJ. Magazine.
After announcing her departure from the Hallmark Channel, 46-year-old Bure explained in the publication that she was moving to the Great American Family network, which has no plans to feature same-sex couples in their movies, and instead wants to tell stories that “will keep traditional marriage at the core.”
Like several other celebrities who spoke out after Bure’s comments, a source tells Et that 40-year-old Sweetin “is progressive in her beliefs and Candace is very religious in hers.”
“They have different views and opinions on various important topics,” the source notes, adding that what Bure told WSJ. Magazine “held a lot of weight.”

Netflix’s Fuller House has been acquired by Gac Family in a rare syndication deal for a streaming series. But how exactly does the fledgling cable network intend to deal with episodes that are, well… fuller?
