Exclusive: Game of Thrones alums Kristofer Hivju and Harry Lloyd have boarded Iris, the Sky thriller from Luther creator Neil Cross.

Hivju will play Jensen Lind, a tortured genius and brilliant scientist, while Lloyd is Hugo Pym, an immaculately composed mystery man who takes on a senior position within The Money, the group that bankrolled lead Cameron McIntyre’s project.

Netflix had announced that the prequel series The Witcher: Blood Origin, which is set in “an elven world” 1200 years before the events we saw in The Witcher, would have a six episode run. But now the Witcher fan site Redanian Intelligance reports that they’ve heard the show is being condensed from six episodes down to four.

The streaming service announced Friday that the second season of the Henry Cavill-led fantasy series will premiere Dec. 17, meaning you’ll see Geralt of Rivia (Cavill), Yennefer (Anya Chalotra) and Ciri (Freya Allan) in new episodes before the year ends. That’s some pretty great pre-weekend news for “Witcher” fans who have been waiting since Season 1 launched in December 2019 to find out when Season 2 would be arriving.

News of “The Witcher” Season 2 premiere date was revealed out of WitcherCon today. During the online event, Netflix also dropped “The Witcher” Season 2 teaser (which you can view here) and revealed the release date and first footage for “The Witcher” anime film “Nightmare of the Wolf” (which you can find here).

Adjoa Andoh, who plays Lady Danbury on Netflix’s “Bridgerton,” will play the part of the Archpriestess of the Temple of Melitele in Ellander, a woman who has known Geralt of Rivia (played by Henry Cavill) since he was young. Joining the second season are Yasen Atour (Young Wallender) as Coen, Agnes Bjorn as Vereena, Paul Bullion (Peaky Blinders) as Lambert, Thue Ersted Rasmussen (Fast and Furious 9) as Eskel, Aisha Fabienne Ross (The Danish Girl) as Lydia, Kristofer Hivju (Game of Thrones) as Nivellen, and recent graduate Mecia Simson, as Francesca.

Returning for season two are Henry Cavill, who leads the cast of The Witcher saga, playing the role of Geralt of Rivia. Anya Chalotra returns as the sorceress Yennefer, Freya Allan as Ciri and Joey Batey as fan-favourite Jaskier.
