Resident DJ of London’s legendary Bollywood night Bombay Funkadelic, DJ Shai Guy knows exactly how to get the party started.
We got ourselves down to Brick Lane one balmy Saturday evening and checked out June’s event.
Verdict: Please don’t stop the music.
Halkat Jawani mixed with Mera Joota Hai Japani .
I got the Power.
Old school Bollywood beats such as Aama Dekh and Jab Bhi Koi Ladki Dehku…
DJ Shai Guy had the dance floor filled with innovative Bollywood dance moves within a short space of time.
This isn’t the first.
Recently, at the SouthBank Alchemy Festival 2014, DJ Shai Guy phenomenally had the entire Thames terrace swaying to Bollywood.
We at BollySpice had the opportunity to interview DJ Shai Guy and get to know how mithaai’s would sound if they were Bollywood songs, what beats he would take to a deserted island, the best and...

After the sell-out success of the Celebrating 100 Years of Bollywood Tour with Shreya Ghoshal in April/May, it’s now the turn of the Diva of Bollywood – Sunidhi Chauhan.
Ask any Bollywood Music fan, to name their favourite singer currently, and it won’t be long before the name of Sunidhi Chauhan enters the conversation. Sunidhi Chauhan has evolved into perhaps one of the most iconic and popular vocalists on the live circuit and Bollywood scene. Having consistently been associated with hit songs for over 15 years, it’s no surprise that Sunidhi Chauhan has amassed a huge fan following.
For most child protégées fame is a very difficult thing to handle. But Sunidhi Chauhan has handled it very gracefully. She began to sing at the age of four and was discovered by a local TV anchor. She shot into prominence through winning a talent hunt show, in which she sang...

Tell Me O Kkhuda not only marks the debut of one of Bollywood’s most beloved divas, Hema Malini’s directorial debut, but also marks Esha Deol’s return to the screen after a hefty break alongside legends such as Vinod Khanna, Rishi Kapoor and father Dharmendra Singh Deol. But whether Bollywood’s once dream-girl turns dream-director is a conversation for a different day.
By the looks of the promos and trailers, Tell Me O Kkhuda tackles an unseasoned topic for Indian Cinema and therefore gives composers and in particular lyricists a whole lot of different and intense emotions to deal with. How the various composers and lyrists achieve that with Tell Me O Kkhuda “is” conversation for today.
The soundtrack consists of seven tracks, three of which have been composed by Pritam (Mausam and Once Upon A Time in Mumbai) and the reminder by other composers amongst which are...

Studs Terkel won a Pulitzer Prize for listening to other people's thoughts, fears and dreams. (Sun-Times photo by Rich Hein)
I got caught in the Indiana Jones whirlwind and allowed an important anniversary to pass unremarked: On May 16, Studs Terkel celebrated his 96th birthday. One of the great American lives continues to unfold. If I know Studs, the great day passed with calls and visits from friends, and the ceremonious imbibing of one (1) gin martini, very dry. I hope he has eliminated the daily cigar, but I'm not taking odds. If you don't know Studs, there are few people you can meet more easily in print. He is the greatest conversationalist I've met, the author of a shelf-full of books in which he engages people from all walks of life in thoughtful conversations about their own lives.
This life-work began with the best-seller Division Street: America, (1967), in which he talked to politicians and protestors,...

If I'm correctly gaging the Big Brother fan base (and I think I am), Big Brother 9 has been something of a disappointment. These things happen, and I don't blame CBS or Allison Grodner. This season was something of a throw-away from the start, rushed into production thanks to the writers' strike. Since Big Brother was playing with house money (sort of), they decided to experiment with the couples twist. I, like many out there, thought the partners idea was a sound one. Unfortunately, it really mucked up the game play and didn't allow for the usual strategy that Big Brother house guests are used to. Reality show contestants generally base their game play (and overall behavior) on what they've seen on previous seasons. Just look at Survivor – every staple of game play was set during the show's first season. Without history to look back on and facing an entirely different set of rules,...

Big Brother is a funny game sometimes. After an eviction episode last night where the same nine people who began the night inside the house ended up inside the house, the balance of power noticeably shifted. That's what happens when a formerly evicted and scorned house guest returns. The Head of Household competition, which did not end by the time the episode was over, also featured a number of verbal deals which will, at the very least, greatly influence the events of the coming week. Being the Big Brother spoiler afficianado I am, I know who won the Head of Household competition last night and, therefore, I've taken that into account with these power rankings.
Spoiler Warning!!! Please, If You Don'T Like Spoilers, Turn Around!!!
#9 – Ryan
