Quibi has released first teaser for The Fugitive, starring Kiefer Sutherland and Boyd Holbrook. The new take on the 1993 Harrison Ford film, which was based on the 1960s TV series of the same name, comes from Scorpion creator Nick Santora, Thunder Road Films and Warner Bros. TV.
The Fugitive centers on blue collar worker Mike Ferro (Holbrook), who just wants to make sure his wife and 10-year-old daughter are safe when a bomb rips through the Los Angeles subway train he’s riding on. But the faulty evidence on the ground and “tweet-now, confirm-later” journalism paint a nightmarish picture: it looks to all the world that Mike was responsible for the heinous act. Wrongfully—and very publicly—accused, Mike must prove his innocence by uncovering the real perpetrator, before the legendary cop, Detective Clay Bryce (Sutherland), heading the investigation can apprehend him. The CW won't be returning to the place that's "not as brightly lit", as the network has apparently passed on the reboot of George A. Romero's 1980s anthology series, Tales From the Darkside.
According to CarterMatt.com, The CW will not be moving forward with their Tales From the Darkside reboot, with the show's anthology format and lack of a showrunner reportedly two of the reasons why the network passed on the series.

Comic-Con is a wonderful place, one where exciting scoops can emerge from unexpected places. Attendees at the panel for Alexandre Aja’s upcoming Horns, a Daniel Radcliffe-led horror comedy about a young man trying to solve his girlfriend’s murder (which looks amazing by the way), were treated to plenty of information about that project, but one well-placed question led to an update about an entirely different but also promising project – Universal’s comic adaptation Locke & Key.
Joe Hill, the comic-book artist whose novel served as the inspiration for Horns, delivered the news, confirming that the long-in-development project will in fact be a trilogy and is currently taking shape at Universal Pictures. Albert Torres, the screenwriter of Henry Poole is Here, the upcoming Akira remake and an announced live-action version of Ben 10, has been tapped to adapt the L0cke & Key comic-book series, which Hill co-wrote with Gabriel Rodriguez.

Pulled out of adaptation purgatory last year by Universal, the comic book series Locke & Key is getting new life. Previously destined to be a TV show on Fox, but never making it past the pilot episode, the comic book series by Joe Hill and Gabriel Rodriguez is coming to the big screen and a writer has been hired to help get it there.

Dear Video Gods, can it be? Is the feature adaptation of the Joe Hill comic series Locke & Key actually getting moving? After about a year of silence the buzz begins again as a writer has been found to pen the project! Miracles do happen!
THR reports that Albert Torres has been tapped to write Locke & Key, Universal’s adaptation of the award-winning supernatural comic book series by Joe Hill and Gabriel Rodriguez. Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci, and Bobby Cohen are to produce, as is Ted Adams, the CEO and publisher of Idw Publishing, the company behind the comic.
Locke & Key tells of three siblings who, after the gruesome murder of their father, move to their ancestral home in Maine. They soon discover the house has magical keys that give the bearers a vast array of powers and abilities. Little do they know (but they soon will) that a devious demon also wants the keys.

Albert Torres ("Henry Poole is Here") has been selected to pen the latest attempt to adapt Joe Hill and Gabriel Rodriguez's award-winning supernatural comic book series "Locke & Key" at Universal Pictures.
Set in a small Massachusetts village, the story follows a mother and her three children who move into their family estate after her husband is murdered. The vast estate has many areas only accessible by special keys, while a malevolent force within the house lures the husband's killer to the town to finish off the rest of the family.
Originally "Transformers" and "Star Trek" scribes Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman had planned to adapt the property into a single film. That collapsed, leading to a TV series adaptation. A Mark Romanek-directed pilot was produced but didn't get picked up to series.
Then in late 2012 came word that Orci and Kurtzman were planning to turn the property into a film trilogy at Universal.

Locke & Key tried to find life on the small screen, but the adaptation of the acclaimed comic book series never made it past the pilot stage. Fortunately for fans, Universal picked up the rights to the comics not too long ago and now they're getting serious about making the film as they've hired a writer to pen the script.
Locke & Key are among some of my favorite comics. They don't feature any superheroes, but it's a powerful story about dealing with loss, the supernatural, and figuring out what it means to grow up. If you haven't read it, the series from Joe Hill has wrapped up and all six graphic novels are available for purchase. I highly recommend them.
As such, I'm pretty excited to hear that Universal (thanks to THR for the scoop) have hired a writer for their big screen adaptation of the series:

Producer Joel Silver is trying to get his live-action Ben 10 movie to the big screen, and he's hired another screenwriter to take a crack at the script. Up-and-coming writer Ryan Engle (Rampage) has landed the job, and he will work off the script previously written by Albert Torres (Akira).
I've watched a couple of episodes of Ben 10, and from what I've seen it looks like it could make for a fun kid's action movie. The story revolves around a character named Ben Tennyson, a boy that can transform into 10 different alien creatures with the help of a glovelike device called the Omnitrix. Silver previously talked about the film, explaining,
I think we have to try something fresh and go at it in a way that stays true to the original material. I have a 5-year-old and a 9-year-old, so it's somewhere between them. I tried to do (something...

We heard some time ago that Joel Silver - producer of, among many others things, Sherlock Holmes, V For Vendetta, and the Matrix trilogy - had signed on to develop a live-action feature film based on Cartoon Network's Ben 10 sci-fi franchise, with an eye toward distribution through Warner Bros. The show's creator gave us an update a while ago, but aside from that all had been quiet since. But now THR report that the movie has a new writer - Ryan Engle, who is also working on New Line’s adaptation of the Rampage video game and New Regency’s The New West, which is based on a comic from Black Bull Media. Engle will work off of the script by Albert Torres (Henry Poole Is Here).

Screenwriter Albert Torres who is currently modifying the script for the live-action Akira movie, will rewrite the screenplay for the feature adaptation of The Strange Case of Mr. Hyde, based on the Dark Horse graphic novel.
The Strange Case of Mr. Hyde follows a recently rehabilitated Dr. Jekyll tracking down a criminal (or monster) using an improved formula from the infamous Hyde Experiment. Awesome book, awesome graphic novel, now if they would only make the film awesome as well – I’d be the happiest person in the world (yeah, I’m That demanding, hahah).
Torres has no actual finished credit to his name other than Henry Poole is Here, which is a low budget Luke Wilson dramedy.

They wrote the last five James Bond films, and with three of the five being critical and box-office successes –so not bad statistically-, writers Neal Purvis and Robert Wade have announced they are departing the long running franchise. This does not come as a surprise though, if only because it was confirmed a few weeks ago that John Logan –who co-wrote the latest Bond flick Skyfall with the writer’s- was verified as the screenwriter for Bond 24, which should bow in 2014. There was also a rumor that Logan will also handle the writing duties for Bond 25. And while other reports indicate Logan worked out a two-part adventure for those next films, no one will confirm that at Eon Productions or the two studios that finance the series now, MGM and Columbia Pictures. While the Bond films have been more or less stand-alone (while both Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace...

Prepare yourself for another comic book adaptation. This time it’s a Dark Horse comic book entitled The Strange Case Of Mr. Hyde, from the creative team of Cole Haddon and M.S. Corley.
The comic took place five years after Mr. Hyde’s initial murders, with a string of prostitute killings taking place in London. Inspector Thomas Adye of Scotland Yard believes that the killer is using the same serum that created Mr. Hyde, so he turns to Dr. Jekyll for help with the investigation. Of course, Mr. Hyde isn’t completely eradicated from the good/bad doctor. Basically, it sounds like Dr. Jekyll And Mr. Hyde meets Jack the Ripper or From Hell. It’s obviously based on Robert Louis Stevenson’s master work.
Albert Torres (who wrote Henry Pool Is Here and an Akira screenplay) is on to re-write the script. More as it comes!

A pseudo-sequel to the classic Robert Louis Stevenson story, the action is set five years later with Dr. Jekyll in prison and allegedly rehabilitated.
Inspector Thomas Adye of Scotland Yard commissions Jekyll into hunting down a new terror, a monster that has been murdering prostitutes and appears to be the product of an improved version of the infamous Hyde serum.
Adding to the complications, it seems Jekyll isn't completely cured of Hyde either.
