Scott Pelzel is a native of Detroit Michigan and began his career as a camera assistant. While freelancing for a friend's production company shooting various projects, He began his editing career working on Avid. He cut his teeth on educational, corporate films and commercials in Detroit and also shot and edited short films with friends which became weekend projects. He lived in Europe in 1996 where he shot and edited the Swiss German short film "Die Klavierspielrin" (The Piano Teacher) based on a novel written by famed Austrian writer Alfreda Jelinek. The short film won the Golden Leopard Award for best short film at the Locarno Film Festival in Switzerland in 1997.
Scott moved to New York City in 1998 and started to further his narrative and commercial work editing national commercials for Victoria's Secret, Ralph Lauren, CoverGirl, American Airlines, Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Google and Macy's and narrative work including short films and projects for MTV World including the series "Rebel Music"(2013) which has been distributed by Netflix as well as the Discovery Channel documentary series "A year on Earth" (2004). Scott has continued his work in both the commercial, music video and narrative world of filmmaking as both an Editor and Cinematographer. He now lives in in Brazil with his wife and two children and continues to shoot and edit projects in Brazil and the US.
